VAR isn't like the goal line technology. In var it is still humans who do the assessing. It's not automatically done with cameras in real time like this.
Goal Line Technology, became just something nice to have after the emerge of VAR. On the other side, France's first goal at World Cup 2014 against Honduras was validated by this technology, probably VAR would haven never validated that goal :).
They should make use of more technology in sports played on such massive platforms. Referees should be given HD-screen watches to replay tackle events to see if it was a dive or a legit foul. OR to also look at replays of any brawls on the pitch to book the first offender more fairly. There are so many possibilities that are not being recognized here but in other sports. Cricket, f.ex., is hardly popular anywhere except South Asia and a few other parts of the world, yet makes full use of technology to assist umpires in deciding whether a batsman is supposed to be "OUT" or "NOT OUT" and in some cases, the umpire in the replay room can overrule any decision taken by the umpire on the pitch.

To insure every ball is working would be much harder and more expensive. You set up the camera and you're done. You can have about 15 balls in play at any given game
