Absolutely none of the shows today can bring a feeling of calm reminiscing such as this show did. I start watching and I am taken back to the 60’s when life was simple, people were generally good, and the world was much safer. I miss those happy times, thanks for the peaceful reminders.
Beyond comic perfection. Of all the scenes Don Knotts crushes on this show, this takes the cake and the party it came with! "Where you getting it, where you getting it!" "Ahhhhh!" Even the lamp he uses wilts under his comedic assault. Hal Smith is adorable as Otis. No two people in television history ever played off each other more beautifully. Only Tim Conway of the Carol Burnett show belongs with this Michelangelo of manic behavior. Don Knotts is the template for all physical comedy.
My favorite scene is the one where the kid rides his bike on the sidewalk and says "nyaaaa" and sticks his tongue out at Barney and Barney does it back. 😂
YESSS! Barney did an Archie Bunker! Minus the whole blowing spit part, at least. (I know this came out before All in the Family, it was just my first thought)
Here is The TRUE Savior YaH The Heavenly FATHER HIMSELF was Who they Crucified for our sins, NOT jesus, and “HERE IS THE PROOF” From the Ancient Semitic Scroll: "Yad He Vav He" is what Moses wrote, when Moses asked YaH His Name (Exodus 3) Ancient Semitic Direct Translation Yad - "Behold The Hand" He - "Behold the Breath" Vav - "Behold The NAIL"
One extra comment, if I were Andy I would be on the floor crying during this scene. How he manages to keep a straight face watching these twin madcaps is beyond me. Name me one other show in history with talent like this! I dont know who was better the writers or the casting director. More great acting than any show ever. By a comic landslide.

Hi. I think Bilko's show was good. Just recently discovered it. Yes, it shows and points to sins like gambling and lying and a few others. But it can give you a boost
Hal Smith is a great character actor! Just little details, like when he leaves the cell and Barney tells him to stop, he stops but looks over towards Andy as the boss, like asking “is this ok with you?”
"Barn, the vein in your neck is stickin' out agin!" Don Knotts is one of the greats! Don, I'll remember you whenever I visit "The Church in the Wildwood!"
Barney was such a jerk. Can you imagine living in a town with that crazy maniac as law enforcement? Sheriff Taylor was damn fool to hire him, and should have been voted out of office just for that.
Dude! Wake up! This is not a real life town. If you cannot understand that, I can type a little sloooowwwer! This. is. not. a. real. town. There!! Did you get it now?
@@marrianner.1682 .. Guy, you missed the whole point. I never said it was a real town. I was talking about how this small town, how this small town law enforcement, was portrayed in this television sitcom.
@@KinitoPet_web_world .. You "strongly disagree" that nepotism (Barney was Sheriff Taylor's cousin) was a bad thing, with Barney a bad deputy. Well, to each his own.

Amen
Barney and Otis were perfectly fine working off each other. Perfect pairing
Don't think there will ever be anybody funnier. Thanks for the laughs, Mr. Knotts. R. I. P.
He was funny but not the funniest
I CAN'T STOP LAUGHING!😂😂😂😂 OTIS AND BARNEY ARE HILARIOUS TOGETHER
the way the light kept falling. I love this show
Oh Lord! I am so thankful that I was born in 1960 and got to spend my formative years watching Barney and Andy!

Barney is one mean dude.He know martial arts!!!!!
lol this is one of my favorite scenes
LOVED the smart-ass pushing the chair over! 😂
I'm losing my breath laughing
Barney is too funny here!! Omg!! LMAO!!!🤣😂😂😅
Barney is just like the parking lot attendant at the county fair. Give him an inch of authority and he/she turns in to an instant asshole! LOL!
I can just see Otis thinking "not again" when Barney tells him to hold it.
"Barn, the vein in your neck is stickin' out agin!"
Don Knotts is one of the greats! Don, I'll remember you whenever I visit "The Church in the Wildwood!"

Hold it, otis
My stomach is hurting from laughing
I like that 😄 episode
Otis the only one with a stable marriage or relationship lol
That is kinda a low blow. Any's a widower.... so there is no telling how stable his relationship would have been.
This show wouldn't have been half as good as it is without Barney.
why can't Otis just buy alcohol????? its legal.....
Moonshine wasn't/isn't legal.
dry county, no booze
Likes the hooch. Stronger.
