    I had to swap my rental last week and was given one of these in white. I was shocked how much I liked this little car.

    Nice review. BTW if you remove the rear middle seat headrest (put in trunk) your back window visibility increases a lot!

    I know I’m dating myself, but I do remember when regular unleaded was an oxymoron. For you younger viewers, regular gas meant it had lead in it. When I started selling auto parts in 1996, we sold a lot of lead additive for high compression older cars.

    Jerry I think the button on the tailgate is to lock the doors once you closes the hatch in case your hands are full and you can’t get the keys out of your pocket.

    I can't think of another mainstream subcompact crossover that even offers a power lift gate at any price. Kudos to Mazda!

    Nice review, thanks. You should also comment on the ride quality, which I would argue is more important than handling for most people.

    Is this one's MSRP is only $23,900? Why is MSRP of 2021 cx-30 select, AWD, machine gray $27,120?

    Mazda is probably the only other mainstream japanese brand I'll consider other than Honda. I was going to purchase a Mazda 3 hatch but instead I got a Honda Civic Sport hatchback and after that I'm looking into a Accord Sport 1.5 or 2.0t manual or the upcoming Acura TLX 2.0t tech package or A-Spec.

    Mazda barely sells any cars to rental fleets, which is why their US sales are so low. They sell fewer cars, but their margins are way higher than their competitors.

    I wouldn't want a power lift gate. Keep the unnecessary electronics that replace manual actions for lazy people. Just more things that can go wrong later.

    I find Mazda underrated. Premium feeI in the interior, great styling, best in class handling, and a very torquey turbo engine. The bigger CX5 turbo was very impressive when I drove it.
    Also, was some of the leather on the door and door armrest blue?

    These are great SUVs, but you have to go for the Premium or Preferred Packages (which both also come with the Bose premium audio system) in order to get SiriusXM Satellite Radio (which I need in a vehicle), and at least this Select Package to get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (they're changing that for 2021 with standard Apple CarPlay an Android Auto on ALL trim levels). Still, a fun-to-drive little CUV, being based on the Mazda3 platform. :) BTW, you're right about Mazdas being a rarity at Enterprise, as they usually give them out to customers whose insurance is paying for it.

  • @JBM425
    @JBM425 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    FYI, I checked the Mazda website to see if higher trim levels (Preferred or Premium packages) had a rearview camera system that tracked as you steer. I cannot tell from their specs, so it's very possible that even the highest level trim does not include that feature. I would actually have to look at one for myself to get the "ground truth." That is so basic, especially for a factory-installed unit, that it's ridiculous to shave pennies and not have that as part of the rearview camera system.

    Based on the excellent Mazda 3 compact, no turbo and no CVT, but it does have direct injection and a very high compression ratio, so a long engine life is doubtful.

    • @PushStart_YT
      @PushStart_YT 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretty much everything is GDI now and many with turbos on top of that. Does it mean all of them will fail prematurely? I've read that if you rev the car regularly, it should get rid of the build up. Not sure how much truth is that.

    • @3dwin135
      @3dwin135 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Games if you do a lot of interstate/higher speed driving like 65 mph type of stuff it stops it from causing carbon buildup all together, some gdi cars don’t get a lot of carbon buildup compared to others on the valves. some cars even have gdi and normal port injection like toyota/lexus d4s system.
