I am loving the Playable and Unplayable charts. I hope you keep doing that. I am fully about emulation and it really helps with decision making. Thanks ETA.
What ya end up getting an why?
I HATE how much I like this console... Thanks for your awesome coverage of these. I need to stop watching or I'll keep buying them.
I ordered wood grain color because my kids said so, and it does not disappoint. Thank you for your video for the easier purchase decision.
I feel like these things are coming one every day😂
Your probably right!
They are...but I might actually get this.
tbh so much useless electric waste that gets bought in bulk and probably never used
True and I agree.
Also (don't shoot the messenger), sometimes I feel like with every new product pushed, there are so small slight little improvments and not substantial ones. Like, wouldn't it be better if the next variant just had a little more (more than the usual) horsepower and not just push the next chipset that just came out? IDK, sorry
A handheld is born every day
i love the chunky look. and the hall sticks got me sold
Definitely different strokes man, I literally cannot stand the look of this device, the chunky look as a major turnoff and the analog sticks look horrible to me. Functionality I'm sure is great, but I just couldn't stand walking around with this thing.
which one do you have?@@Agumon5
I bought a miyoo mini plus and felt it was a little too small for my hands so this should be perfect.
I hope Anbernic will release all their future handhelds with a fan on the back. They can get quite warm when running 3D games, frankly.
Badass. And I like those hall based symmetrically placed analog sticks. Totally radd.!!
I want to thank you for the Playable and Unplayable charts. I hope this is something you'll bring back in later videos.
As far as the console itself; if it had a SIM slot it'd be my daily driver phone. It's got plenty of power, runs reasonably new version of Android, has a large enough screen, and I like the size + form factor. Also; I'm a sucker for a cooling fan. The only knitpick that I have is not having analog triggers. Dreamcast, PS2, and GameCube all had games that made use of them and it's mildly annoying that this doesn't. Still, most didn't and, at least with Dreamcast, I can map them to the right stick if needed (like with certain racers).
Idk why I think this one is one of the coolest releases
Would be nice to maybe see the best case scenario with the 'unplayable' list there... for example seeing what settings would get F-Zero GX running as smooth as possible on the device. A video like that would be interesting.
Thanks for doing a hadoken test. That a what I do with new arcade units to tell if everything is working properly
Thanks for posting the discounted keys and coupon code. Definitely helped on my new laptop
Fascinating to see a fan on a Gameboy shaped emulating device.
t618 is pretty ancient at this point
@@Neucher did you comment on the right post? Not sure what your comment has to do with mine? Was talking about a fan, not a processor
@@jar768jake why do you think it has a fan
@@Neucher at this point I’m legitimately just guessing via context clues. Are you implying that I shouldn’t think it’s cool there is a fan, because it’s an ancient processor, and because it’s ancient it’s not as efficient which causes more heat build up, so the fan is required because it’s old, as opposed to just being a more powerful chip that requires cooling?
Maybe also implying that there are more powerful and capable chips that don’t even require cooling, but if they do at least it would make since to put a fan on in that case?
@@jar768jake I kinda meant the first. T618 is known to get very hot, that's probably why it has a fan. It's not a gaming chip but apparently there's still trucks full of them considering how many handhelds use it.
This is almost perfect and i love it! 😲 🙌💯💜🙏
I love them all keep them coming anbernic.❤❤❤
Just got the RG35XX through Amazon. Next is this one here. Still debating on the old school retro look. Or the Wood Grain. Both look immaculate. 🔥
I love these dmg-style handhelds, but I think I'll hold out until something like wii (SMG2 in the thumbnail lol) and most of the ps2 ones are at least playable, until then I'm fine with my miyoo mini + steam deck combo
Maybe with NetherSX2 it'd work better, I was getting 23 fps upscaling x4 and with that modified version I got 30 on x5 😉 good luck, nice video and great work 👍
The next gen of these should have a swivel screen so games like Tetris or arcade games can be played vertically.
Cooling is AWESOME to see
What the hell?! I just realized I live right down the street from this dude!😂 Crazy
Wow nice creation
Can't wait!
Bro that badass
With Android I really would have wanted to see analog triggers for X-cloud, GFN ect..
Hey! Thanks for the review. My benchmark for PS2 would be Jak3. Think you could run that on this little guy and see how it works?
what a great machine defo getting one.
Excellent 👍
What are you using to get live wallpapers on this device ?
appreciate the full ratio
dang I want a handheld that can play everything ps2/gamecube and below, might need to buy an odin 2 pro
PS2, Dream Cast and Game Cube games I am getting this
Compare to RG505 which has similar price with 4.95” OLED, would it be better than this?
Hello. Does it come with games out of the box or d i need to download it first? Thanks in advance 😊
I love my 351v , just wish it would run dream cast and Saturn. This looks like it will but it's damn bulky and i already have a steam deck hmmmm
i rather have a vertical handheld because i have a thing for the old gameboy so i just collect vertical handhelds this is my cup of tea
If this show up in Amazon i wood differently picking this one up
great video - thank you :-)
This is a very interesting game system!🤩🤩Portable to boot! I would be interested in getting it-if the price is right 👍
Thanks 👍
Oh and happy Labor Day!🇱🇷
When are you gonna review or preview the Lenovo Legion GO? They really duplicating the Nintendo Switch style but with PC style.
Is this better then pocket 3 plus or worse performance wise? I want to buy one but really clueless at the moment.
Love to play FF 7 EverCrisis on this 😍
It says on the website in the link that the handheld can stream PC games. Is this true and if so, can you please make a video showing how well that works?
Thanks so much.
Carx Street is working on it ❤
Make these but with 6” display in that aspect ratio
a 3d pinted grip would help with comfort
i bet this or the 405m would both be great for watching old tv shows from the 80s 90s and early 2000s that are in a 4:3 aspect ratio like most of tubi's tv show library lol
Trying to find a console that will allow me to play certain retro games. Which version of Anbernic would be the best to purchase for the games listed below?:
• Mortal Kombat games 1-4
• Street Fighter games 1-3
• Power Stone 1 & 2
• Dark Cloud
• Sonic the Hedgehog 1-3
• Mace: The Dark Age
• Super Mario Bros 1-3, and Super Mario World
• Wario Land 1-4
• Bomberman 64
• Super Mario 64
• Diddy Kong Racing
So glad I’ve met my handheld peace. Steam deck and Miyoo Mini Plus are all I need
This is exactly what i'm thinking. I own the RG35XX and everytime i look at one of these retro handhelds, my brain just goes "or you could get a steam deck and you're set".
@@yagami999913Steam Deck is so bulky and I couldn’t play one around my rambunctious kids.
I own a miiyoo plus ➕️ thing is perfect for anything below ps1 💯 ..was looking for another device to give me ps2 & dreamcast after seeing this video seem if I wait a bit longer ambernic will deliver on that dream.
Personally, bulk be damned, I'd like to see a GBA-SP style handheld that'll go up to PS1/N64 games.
Any idea how dynasty warriors 2-5 run on this, you don’t need to test them all im just wondering if it’s worth me picking one up for that series alone. Thanks.
Jeez I just ordered an RG35XX an hour before this video releases.
I'm still considering the RG35XX for its nostalgic game boy form factor. Plus, the game library for anything beyond PS1 is not fully optimised for these devices. Unless PS2 and GameCube emulations are what you're looking for, 35XX is a great choice imo.
I mean you're getting a better-looking device, much more pocketable as well.
this is more than twice as expensive
Don't worry you are in good hands. The RG35XX could handles everything upto the PS1 perfectly. Now you just sit back, work your way through all the NES, SNES, PS1, GB/GBC/GBA, Arcade classics (and that library should keep you occupied for a long time) until something comes along that could handles PS2/PSP/NDS/3DS perfectly.
*Looks decent*
for pokemon games can you make your own teams or are you stuck with teh pokemon from that region or game specificlly i wanna have a team of kanto johto etc or hoenn starters but idk if colosseum or teh gba games can allow you to hack them
How does it play DS games?? Tiny 4 inch screen cut in half? Is it comfortable to use or advised against?
does this Run Zelda Twilight Princess? Lord of the Rings : The Return of the Kind on GC?
Does it come with emulators?? Or the roms have to be installed?? Thanks.
I only see one problem with this unit, no analog shoulder triggers. I would argue that the Retroid Pocket 2s set the baseline for basic controls that really do need to be included with emulation devices now that were fast approaching high fidelity PS2 and GameCube emulation.
Analog triggers are okay for racing games and worse for... absolutely everything else, where the trigger is simply treated as a button.
@@lime148 point taken. Agreed actually.
rgb10 max 2 has the perfect form factor for me..... im just waiting for that power jump where its possible to do ps2 game cube etc well for about the $£100 - £$120 price point
i thought the retroid 3+ was it but then i heard it wasnt as good as the 2!??... but tempted to get the miyoo mini plus as a vertical as everyoneseems to be singing its praises
@@antwango I like a nice vertical but I've really big hands and a horizontal form factor is just better for me. I've the Retroid Pocket Flip and the Retroid Pocket 3+ Metal iteration and they both really kick it in the ergonomics as both units are quite comfortable for longer playing sessions. I've been loving playing the DS on the Flip. Bloody brilliant. No second screen but no device is perfect, not even the OG DS.
Prime's Mic became wakietalkie
The machine is great
What would you suggest for an affordable pocketable handheld that can do ps2/ GameCube well?
Check out the new Retroid Pocket 4 Pro.
Rog ally
Can you play multiplayer with other units or models of this system?
I'm new to these things. Will this play Dreamcast and or Sega Saturn? Those are the systems I wanna play on something like this. Just not sure if anything are up to those tasks or not. Keep the videos coming. I learn a lot from them :)
Sega Saturn emulation is still tricky. I'd say that it *can* play Sega Saturn games but not all of them.
@@damearstor2120 The Saturn side is REALLY struggling, since it's the most complicated and esoteric mishmash of old proprietary electronics out there.
I've this on Facebook selling for £16 but haven't ordered it as it seemed to cheap
I am wondering how big of a micro sd card it takes. Can you put a bigger one in?
So does it come with any games on it already?
Atomic purple is the only acceptable colour for a Gameboy shaped anything
Ok millenial :-) Us boomers want OG gray, just like in 1989 !
@@kmieciu4ever The GameBoy colour was released in Clear atomic purple but i see your point lmao, bonus points if you have to sit under a lamp to play!
Waiting for anberbic to make a clamshell
Does it come with built in games?
Will this probably play super Mario sunshine?
I need this vertical hanheld with moonlight or parsec support
Need Stronger Chipsets next console like this, Can't play Tekken Tag Tournament is a really very shame
What os u r using?
i got the rg350 when it came out, gpd xd plus a year after, been trying to get a windows one for years now but im not trying to spend 400+ on a portable. If u want to sell me 1 lmk
I might....
How can I add games to the device? I want to add more ps2 games. Like gta and Spider-Man but idk how to do it.
I have a 353V, any reason to upgrade from that to this?
Can anyone tell me how well SSX Tricky runs on this (PS2 or GameCube) or more to the point is it a easy or hard game to emulate on these mid range handhelds?
Trouble finding MMJR Dolphin. Any link? Thanks in advance
It's a Retroid 3+ guts inside, except forr Android 12
How well can this handle 3ds games i.e Pokemon games?
Your ref code is not working, just give it a space between the ":" and it should be fully clickable.
Please Anbernic, make a translucid dark model.
Soon...
Is sly cooper playable?
i just want one that tackles emulation until ps3, in that form factor. and at the pace this things are releasing i’d say it’s only a couple of years for this to be done.
Just get the steam deck if you want that.
Such a chunker, good thing i got the RG405M instead.
Is champions of norath playable?
Can it play Final Fantasy X or Metal Gear Snake Eater?
Does it support Ngage out of the box ?
Hi, whats games can be played on this console?
How does this thing compare to a PS Vita? Power wise.
Mali G52 is a bit strange considering its harder for emulators to support than snapdragon and generally has worse performance
they didn't put t618 in this because it's good but because they probably have a truck load of them
@@Neucher True they probably just raided samsungs warehouse lmao
Love the functionality, really don't like the look. Probably won't be picking this one up. Then again I'm really not that interested in playing anything beyond PS1, so for me the 35XX is enough, and much more of a looker too.
Can it play classic Nintendo Gameboy games?
Does it have The Thousand Year Door Paper Mario?
How's Dead cells on Android run on it?
Do you think you can use this to play a hacked version of Pokémon go?
I just use an old Samsung for it at the moment.
maybe
That fan looks like a dust vacuum
