Can’t someone complain about how annoying a boss’s moves are without it being considered a matter of git gud? The boss restricts you into using cheese builds by being a walking aoe. Also, unless you did the boss on rl 1 with bare fists, don’t talk.
@@tarik365 if you want a tip from me, make the cross nagitana into a blood version. it adds more bleed which is your main damage dealer in this situation. Then use Radhan's great rune, stamina boosting tear and another to reduce all element negations. If you do all of that you should be good so long as you manage your stamina well. Oh, and if you want and can get intelligence to 12, you can get scholar shield to reduce the magic damage down to basically nothing.
@@tarik365 I used, Verdigris Discus (Raises Defense with higher equip load), Pearldrake Talisman +3 (Boosts non-physical damage negation by the utmost) or the Haligdrake Talisman (Holy damage negation). Lastly was the classic Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman
@@tarik365 Consider getting Miquella’s Great rune (from the Shadow Sunflower Boss). It helps with the charm grab Radahn uses in his second phase. Also, when Radahn flies to the air; don’t bother face tanking it, run for your life.

who else loves how shield turtling went from a babymode strat to being a basically required meta for the final boss? because it's not enough to know the timing to dodge attacks now as your stamina gets almost no chances to recover from rolling and sprinting miles away to be clear of solar death ray and AoE spam

First of all this build is fucking incredible and thank you sooo much, I just defeated Radahn so I would like to share some of my opinion. 1. Don't dodge, just take all of the hits because it's not going to effect you. The only time you have to dodge is during phase 2 Radahn will try to grab you, if you get caught first time that's no problem but second time it's instant game over. 2. Learn Radahns move set. You can attack Radahn while covering yourself with shield but when your getting hits you're losing stamina and if you decide to attack Radahn while he's attacking you, you're probably going to lose all of your stamina and that leaves you unguarded. Learn his move set so you'll know when to attack. 3. You can use Pearldrake Talisman instead of Lord of Blood's Exultation. Your attacks will be weaker without it but defensively it's amazing. 4. If you're over level 125 I suggest you invest remaining points in arcane and equip ash of war that has arcane buildup, there some ash of wars with arcane buildup such Blood Tax, Seppuku and spectral lance. Since I removed Lord of Blood's Exultation Talisman building up bleed more frequently is something pretty good. When I fought radahn without any arcane ash of war blood loss happened only 3 times during whole fight. 5. My mimic kept losing a lot of health during phase 1 and dies immediately during phase 2, I suggest you to complete phase 1 without summoning mimic and summon mimic after Radahn does his phase 2 opening move. 6. My last advice is, during Radahns phase 2 opening move you can out run it but in the middle of phase 2 Radahns does the same move. I suggest you to just take the hit while guarding yourself, whenever I tried to run out of the circles I couldn't and I lost a lot of health, but when I started taking the hit I lost so little health and stamina, after he completes his move you'll have plenty of time to heal yourself. These are just my advices, the build itself is already OP as fuck. Since I was playing NG++ I had to make some changes.
I was so happy to try this. I grab my fingerprint shield, mohgs spear, golden braid talisman etc. Three hits while blocking and I’m out of stamina. Not sure what easy mode you guys are playing on, but the shield might as well be the car door of a Toyota Prius against this guy. Edit: Forgot to mention I have leveled my Stamina to 60, Vigor is 49 and strength is 46. Zero excuse for a single combo erasing my stamina bar while blocking.
@@Capper_Bra The main issue was that I couldn’t even block his attacks for long without running away to get my stamina back. I would block 3 attacks and my stamina bar would be depleted, I’d stop blocking to regain stamina, it would only go half way and the next combo guard broke me and hit me. With 100 Poise, Level 60 stamina, and finger print shield. I’ve seen videos where people can just poke him all day with the right timing.
@@universal_wisdom3416 Your stamina should not be delpleted at 60. My stamina was way lower and i did not get it depleted unless it wasnt full. Watch the whole video and watch what i do. Everytime he finishes his moveset i stop blocking to regen stamina. If i dont get full stamina i let him do 1 more moveset and then i regen my stamina. If its still not full or close to full i will do the same again until its full so i can attack safely

I played the entire ER + DLC with a Ruins Greatsword build from the moment I got it. I had no issue with any section of the game or boss, although some DLC bosses took a couple of attempts to get down. This guy however, was simply impossible for me. After 4 straight hours of pain, I switched to a similar build, but using the Rotten Crystal Spear. Got him on the second attempt without spirit summon... Thank you!
After hours of dying, I saw this video and decided to make a similar build (a lot more endurance for 100 poise and full bleed ash of war) and won in the first try. This build is nuts vs Radanh. Thank you so much!!

Hi Guys, I was at NG+7 and watched so many tutorials and tried so many time but, couldn't beat him so I made my own build and I beat him in several tries. The main Component is - SCARLET AEONIA You can use a high poise armour to tank his attacks(or at least try to) and use, (Talisman) DragonCrest Greatsheild Perldrake +3 Shard of alexander Godfrey Icon (Buffs) Golden Vow Flame, Grants Me Strength Blessing, of the Erdtree Lord's Divine Fortification Main weapon - Bolt of Gransax Story - So, the scarlet aronia eats through his health even if you are at NG+, you need to cast it a minimum 3 times in all three phases(3rd on is after he comes from the sky). I know it's harder to keep up with his attacks and bullshit but, you only have to cast the incantation and ran away across the map and heal. And if you are willing to use the mimic summon it will be very helpful. I was so stressed out, that's why i wanted to help you guys out. if I didn't do Shit with this message I'm Sorry Anyways, DON'T GIVE UP TARNISHED YOU CAN DO THIS

There is a spell that buffs your guard boost which you can find in waypoint ruins cellar. There is also an insanely good tank magic build that utilizes blasphemous blade and deals an enormous amount of damage with a bunch of buffs including flame grant me strength, howl of shaveiri, bayles magma talisman, and golden vow.
I beat the whole dlc with shield poke as well. However without using mimc tear. When he does the Jesus pose and does the holy nuke attack, you can be right behind him and keep your shield up and only take some amount of damage. He will float back down giving you a chance to hit him a couple of times. Only do this if you have a lot of stamina and health left. I also recommend a spear with base bleed and add frost. so it will chunk the boss health. Also have something with fire to take off the frost on him so you can apply frostbite on him again quickly. I used frost spike spear and Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear If you are still having trouble, there are plently of places still could be explored and optional remembrance bosses to fight. Also get Scadutree fragments. My talismans were Erdtree +3, Greatshield Talisman, Spear and Lord of Blood's Exultation. White mask.

After 3 weeks of trying different builds this one worked a treat, got him on my second attempt with it. I've played all of the souls games and this boss was the biggest pos throughout it all. DLC as a whole was awesome though
When he launches the explosion in an area 5:43 , if you don't think you'll be able to escape in time, you can defend that the damage is almost completely negated (thankfully).
DUDE, you ARE a LEGEND! I entered the DLC on NG+2, got lvl 16 of the scudatree and I could not kill him with my build, I'd tried all sorts of things but DAMN this made him a joke lol. Thank you!
Something I noticed during this run ,you had your mimic out but radahn didn't care about it ,that means your mimic wasn't doing substantial damage to actually make him turn towards it,your also level 125 which means you really weren't trying to put points into a specific build such as a strength or dex or faith build as an example there are tons of spells and items to help you from the looks of things you basically tried to rush the dlc because there's a cracked tear that will let you almost auto party radahns attacks which you didn't do.
If you change the affinity to holy you'll take less chip damage during his second phase, also if you have any kind of healing over time miracles you should use those to keep your health topped off at the start of the fight
Thank you for this!! used a version of this build to beat him finally! took maybe 10 tries after the switch from Sorc/faith build lul. Got to second phase so so many times with my sorc build but that was like a wall feelt almost impossible, so had to switch to this and it worked great but yeah kind sucks that how its gotta be. Anyways i swapped to some other new better talismans from the dlc imo like Two-headed turtle , Pearl Shield, Dragoncrest GreatShield and Golden Braid Talisman. Used Radhan Great rune and also since i was higher level put bleed on Nagasaki and more points into Arcane for proccs. Also one last important thing is Miquellas Great Rune is really key for this fight/strat if u have it(otherwise suggest go getting it) i used it after each first grab (u got 2 or u die) gets abit dicey sometimes cuz later on he starts attacking u while u spam to use the Miquella item and u lose some hp each time before u get block up agian so can eat away at your health pot situation late in the fight but push onwards and youll have it! gl anyone going for it and thanks again for the build idea!.
Im struggling with this boss and might resort to this in the worst case. I was wondering is it possible to block all of his attacks with the fingerprint shield? I understand you need to bring it down between combos but can you block even the holy beams? Do you have any other good option for a shield if I dont have the fingerprint shield? I think In have Moores shield and the half black shield from the DLC. Thanks
Beat boss in 3 attempts with this RL150 used heavy thrusting sword with bleed infusion and Verdigris gear including shield, 60 VIG, 55 END 54 STR AND 20 DEX, thanks so much for the build.
i've killed this boss with the good old jump attack bleed build with double gargoyle twinblades equipped a bull-goat talisman and the haligdrake +2 for poise and holy damage negation and went to town on his ass by ignoring every dodgeable attack and just jumped like i haven't jumped before
THIS is the video. I watched after trying for an hour and a half. Then saw ChaseTheBro use the shield after spending 5-6 hours, so I used the strategy with a bit of twist (frost/rot/bleed), EZ. THANK YOU.
Make sure to use Crimsonwhorl Bubbletear for P2! It fully negates the dive and made it super easy! Just use it asap he´s starting to fly up, the bubble lasts 15sec, so long enough.
I owe you big-time. Who would’ve thought that this build which was toxic in PVP would be the downfall of this boss. This a video needs more likes for anyone else who’s struggling to take this guy down solo.
This stopped me from drilling my controller through the wall. Thank you my friend! This boss is unnecessarily difficult and this is coming from a from soft vet and long term fan. Didn't even enjoy the fight, it was like Goku in full super sayan against my left toe...
Just huge thanks! I mean, I’ve been starting to feel annoyed wasn’t even able to survive till the 2nd phase. I had to use like two or three hp flasks just after I entered arena. Almost gave up. With your help I killed him at 4th try.
Important note, keep 2 of those shield and infuse one of them magic, then in his second phase you will get a lot less damage from the holy and gravity. 😉🤙
Yeah this build is gonna help me waaaay more then standard play. I just gotta get my summon blessing lvl higher so it can survive longer...once that happens its a wrap
Some tips on this btw guys incase this is not enough. Make the cross nagitana into a blood version. it adds more bleed which is your main damage dealer in this situation. Then use Radhan's great rune for more hp, stamina and FP. Get the stamina boosting tear and another to reduce all element negations. Then if you have 12 intelligence, you can also get the scholar's shield to get rid of that annoying magic chip damage from his gravity attacks. If you have what this guy said plus what I said and you are able to manage your stamina well and not get completely screwed by RNG, you should be good as long as you're learning his patterns a bit.
@@Capper_Bra yeah I’m not referring to the 125 limit. I’m just assuming that most people here are in the 150 range due to it being the pvp level. I tend to see more people around that level. It’s where I’m at too. So I just put some points into arcane for the extra bleed. Even without that, with 10 arcane I got 84 bleed build up. So it’s worth it in my opinion.
@@RealZexo maybe it’s not necessary better but I used the shield technique with messmirs spear and the fire damage is really high against him for some reason. That’s just how I did though, just thought it might help somebody.
Beat him in five tries using your method with a few tweaks. It's funny, I haven't done a great-shield poke build since Dark Souls 1. Feels fitting to return to it to beat the mother of all Souls Bosses. Subbed
Hey, thanks for the video, what weapons are possible to use with shields? I was using the Giant-smasher but it was terrible since it has WAYY too long animations. I'm thinking the lance might work, but any halberd or spear does the job too? Good video.
remember you can get 2 npc summons after doing their quest. it might make it a little more bearable, but im pretty sure radahns hp does scale or something

The bosses in the DLC is far more aggressive and have minimum chances of healing. The shield poke build is good in base game.

Try my build instead of moghs spear. You might even be able to have the naganita scale with arcane and only go for bleed procs

Did the same thing with a Scarlet Rot and Blood Antspur Rapier, pretty good for bleed proc and the eventual rot damage.

When he does the Jesus pose and does the holy nuke attack, you can be right behind him and keep your shield up and only take some amount of damage. He will float back down giving you a chance to hit him a couple of times. Only do this if you have a lot of stamina and health left.
I also recommend a spear with base bleed and add frost. so it will chunk the boss health. Also have something with fire to take off the frost on him so you can apply frostbite on him again quickly. I used frost spike spear and Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear
If you are still having trouble, there are plently of places still could be explored and optional remembrance bosses to fight. Also get Scadutree fragments.
My talismans were Erdtree +3, Greatshield Talisman, Spear and Lord of Blood's Exultation. White mask.
You save my life bro, i will see everything that you post on youtubr, I had been on this boss for 5 hours and I didn't know what else to do, I had already changed the build 3 times and it was still impossible
After 3 weeks of trying different builds this one worked a treat, got him on my second attempt with it. I've played all of the souls games and this boss was the biggest pos throughout it all. DLC as a whole was awesome though
When he launches the explosion in an area 5:43 , if you don't think you'll be able to escape in time, you can defend that the damage is almost completely negated (thankfully).

DUDE, you ARE a LEGEND! I entered the DLC on NG+2, got lvl 16 of the scudatree and I could not kill him with my build, I'd tried all sorts of things but DAMN this made him a joke lol. Thank you!

Something I noticed during this run ,you had your mimic out but radahn didn't care about it ,that means your mimic wasn't doing substantial damage to actually make him turn towards it,your also level 125 which means you really weren't trying to put points into a specific build such as a strength or dex or faith build as an example there are tons of spells and items to help you from the looks of things you basically tried to rush the dlc because there's a cracked tear that will let you almost auto party radahns attacks which you didn't do.
At what level did you had the dlc’s boost, for you and the mimic?
+13 scadutree and +8 for ash
Does the affinity for barricade shield matter?
If you change the affinity to holy you'll take less chip damage during his second phase, also if you have any kind of healing over time miracles you should use those to keep your health topped off at the start of the fight
Thank you for this!! used a version of this build to beat him finally! took maybe 10 tries after the switch from Sorc/faith build lul. Got to second phase so so many times with my sorc build but that was like a wall feelt almost impossible, so had to switch to this and it worked great but yeah kind sucks that how its gotta be.
Anyways i swapped to some other new better talismans from the dlc imo like Two-headed turtle , Pearl Shield, Dragoncrest GreatShield and Golden Braid Talisman. Used Radhan Great rune and also since i was higher level put bleed on Nagasaki and more points into Arcane for proccs.
Also one last important thing is Miquellas Great Rune is really key for this fight/strat if u have it(otherwise suggest go getting it) i used it after each first grab (u got 2 or u die) gets abit dicey sometimes cuz later on he starts attacking u while u spam to use the Miquella item and u lose some hp each time before u get block up agian so can eat away at your health pot situation late in the fight but push onwards and youll have it! gl anyone going for it and thanks again for the build idea!.
Im struggling with this boss and might resort to this in the worst case. I was wondering is it possible to block all of his attacks with the fingerprint shield? I understand you need to bring it down between combos but can you block even the holy beams? Do you have any other good option for a shield if I dont have the fingerprint shield? I think In have Moores shield and the half black shield from the DLC. Thanks

Beat boss in 3 attempts with this RL150 used heavy thrusting sword with bleed infusion and Verdigris gear including shield, 60 VIG, 55 END 54 STR AND 20 DEX, thanks so much for the build.

i've killed this boss with the good old jump attack bleed build with double gargoyle twinblades
equipped a bull-goat talisman and the haligdrake +2 for poise and holy damage negation and went to town on his ass by ignoring every dodgeable attack and just jumped like i haven't jumped before

Make sure to use Crimsonwhorl Bubbletear for P2! It fully negates the dive and made it super easy! Just use it asap he´s starting to fly up, the bubble lasts 15sec, so long enough.

Some tips on this btw guys incase this is not enough. Make the cross nagitana into a blood version. it adds more bleed which is your main damage dealer in this situation. Then use Radhan's great rune for more hp, stamina and FP. Get the stamina boosting tear and another to reduce all element negations. Then if you have 12 intelligence, you can also get the scholar's shield to get rid of that annoying magic chip damage from his gravity attacks. If you have what this guy said plus what I said and you are able to manage your stamina well and not get completely screwed by RNG, you should be good as long as you're learning his patterns a bit.
You cant spec for arcane with this build at level 125. You need the health and stamina
@@Capper_Bra yeah I’m not referring to the 125 limit. I’m just assuming that most people here are in the 150 range due to it being the pvp level. I tend to see more people around that level. It’s where I’m at too. So I just put some points into arcane for the extra bleed. Even without that, with 10 arcane I got 84 bleed build up. So it’s worth it in my opinion.

@@RealZexo maybe it’s not necessary better but I used the shield technique with messmirs spear and the fire damage is really high against him for some reason.

Beat him in five tries using your method with a few tweaks. It's funny, I haven't done a great-shield poke build since Dark Souls 1. Feels fitting to return to it to beat the mother of all Souls Bosses.

It scales a lot, I might try using tiche and maliketh blade on him, but I find myself more successful without summons, since it's less hp
