I have a 2015. 2.7 with the 6 speed and the 36 gallon tank. Fuel range estimated at about 750 miles +/-. I have almost 135000 miles on it with no issues at all. Computer says 22....really 18 or 19 might. Great truck and I'd buy another in a heart beat.
My 2018 2.7 with a 5Star Tune, and all bolt ons (stock turbos) with 3" lift and 34" LT tires is averaging 14mpg withy 70k miles. I do lots of city and it is in boost always. I run 93 octane fuel and it gets up and goes for a fullsize truck. Best dyno numbers are 365whp. North east driving with lots of hills. Can't complain I drive it hard sometimes.
My 4x4 at 70-75mph got 23-25mpg depending on elevation change. I would average about 22.5 when adding driving around town. Pretty adequate to me for how big it is with the aero of a barn
Same and I'm in Washington at sea level. I don't know where these people in the comments are getting 24+... I almost call bullshit because my numbers are with even an empty 2.7
Is it true that these smaller turbos are under a lot of stress pushing such heavy and big cars? Thus, they are more prone to breaking down than more tradiational V8's. My uncle told me that when he bought his Expedition with a V8.
No, it’s not true. This 2.7 and the 3.5 are very built up engines, they’re much stronger to account for the extra boost. What your uncle says is just an uninformed opinion
Hey I’m old and I thought the same way, how could such a small engine power a truck adequately, my 17 2.7 Ecoboost F150 was so good I got a 23 2.7 F150 to replace it, both have been great vehicles not a single problem and the tach seems to stay around 1,600-2,000 rpm 98% of the time when I’m driving it. The lil 2.7 just never seems stressed, I drove a 5.0 sounded great but it was a rev machine, I felt like I was damaging it. I’d like to add this thing will fly, after a tiny bit of turbo lag, maybe 1/3 of a second.
They are under a lot of pressure and can go bad. BUT just change the oil every 5000 miles even with synthetic and you'll be all good. The turbos need good clean oil.
Not pathetic. If they all peak around 26 that’s probably the most of vehicle of that shape can get. You’ll get better in the city with the 2.7. Other tests of this engine get around 27mpg
@@sl0907 I thought all the eco boost truck engines had cam phaser issues. 2.7 has a wet belt which could be an issue, nobody seems to be complaining so it must be fine. And a plastic oil pan
2 kinds of Countries in the world, those that put a man on the moon and those that have the Metric system, I think drug dealers use grams to🤣😂🤣😂 masking my total ignorance about the French Measuring system, I like their tires, kissing and their fries, but nothing else, they screwed up the Olympics 😏

Thats better than mine 2018 with the 2.7 im on a 3 inch block to raise the front on 35 inch tires i get 14 mpg complete stock

Charlie, This mpg test of the 2019 F-150 is better late than never. 😉
Whats the check engine light for?
You will want to retest with rack below the cab.
What kind of tires are on that truck?
I had a 2021 2.7 with a 3.55 axle - avg was about 25 mpg.
Was this hand calculated or computer? I was going to go 3.5l but I drive all highway and don't tow much.
I have a 2019 and only get 17.2 to 18.7 mpg. Higher during the summer.
Same and I'm in Washington at sea level. I don't know where these people in the comments are getting 24+...

@@mexifry222 I had a 2022 and would easily get 24+ on the highway. Lifetime mpg was at 21.7 when I sold it at 30k miles in texas
Ahhh good old Eco beast....
My 3.5 f150 gets 20.5 at 70ish, 3.5 expedition 21 with 10 speed.
100.3 miles divided by gallons doesn't always be accurate, lol. My 24' Subaru crosstrel got 15mpg do that method. Lol
Jesus, my legacy has similar power only 300lb lighter and i have on road all terrains on it and i still get 26mpg on the highway.

The 2.7s are pretty reliable they have similar designs to diesel engines

Another uninformed statement about turbo engines reliability

I'm getting 22mpg in my 2.7
The 10 speed newer version does better i think the 10 speed trans is a 2021 feature !
All f150s received the 10 speed starting in 2018. The 3.5 Ecoboost became available with the 10 speed in 2017
That’s pretty pathetic. I’ve had the 3.5 ecoboost and 5.0 v8 4x4. Both of those easily got 23-26 on the highway going 75-80mph.

26 mpg going 80 my ass.
But they don't have oil consumption issues like the 5.0 or the cam phasers on the 3.5
@@sl0907 I thought all the eco boost truck engines had cam phaser issues. 2.7 has a wet belt which could be an issue, nobody seems to be complaining so it must be fine. And a plastic oil pan
Wet belts for oil pump etc. Started in 17 model years. 15 >16 are chains
People. Your F150 does not get 26mpg. Your math is wrong
These 100 mile tests are pretty much useless. Not singling out this channel.
Why do you say that?
It's crazy how much effort you put into these videos Can you also add mpg to 100km/l conversion?
20 mpg is around 11.7 liters/100 km
Not a bad idea to make the video a little more friendly for our canuckistani neighbors. 🍁
