    If you put the hub in the oven or on a hot plate, the bearings will fall right out without messing up the pocket from knocking it out.

      Hey Vigi, your very welcome and thanks for tuning in. nah not on the 17mm wheels. they are on the 25mm OTK wheel hubs, but I haven't seen them on the 17mm OTK wheels from memory

    Front hub spindles or wheels with bearings? Differences/benefits? I’ve got a EKS kart that’s about 7yrs old and it’s just got front wheels with bearings.

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  ปีที่แล้ว

      hubs for 25mm stubs on the 125cc machines. wheels with bearings for the kids. general rule, more hub, more front. less hub, less front,

  • @Aviopic

    I"ll just put the new bearings in the freezer for an hour or so, warm the hubs slightly to 60°c or so and then they drop right in without any tool required 😆

      I second that idea. That’s exactly how we install brass and rubber cutlass bearings on the shafts of big ships where the propellor spins

    Hi, I have a CRG KT1 with a Rotax FR 125. I compared how does the rear axle spin vs other similar karts and noticed that mine is not that free.... what do you recommend to make it spin faster like the other guys? Thanks

    • @PowerRepublic

      Are you using the 11T front sprocket? If so you can remove the o ring from behind the clutch drum. If your not, maybe add lube to the clutch needle roller, chain &,sprocket and to the axle bearings too. Hope that helps. D

      @armandorangel8337 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PowerRepublic Hi, I am using a 12T and it has the o-ring, a washer and a 17mm bearing behind the clutch drum. Does the o-ring make it slower or tighter? Thanks

    The steel sleeve between the bearings in my ital kart hubs doesn’t move enough out of the way to give me a good shoulder of the bearing to hammer on. How do you attack these bearings with that big sleeve?

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      that sucks, I know what you mean. are you sure the bearings are not just so tight of the sleeve that you can't move it? there is special tools you can buy to remove bearings that go into the outer race. you have to remove the dust cover cover first.

    So I am new to all this bearings stuff, but I was wondering does a Bearing with the width of 1 3/8in fit in a go kart rim with a circumference of 1 1/4in? Couldnt find it anywhere.

    Can you put a 3/4 bearing on a 5/8 bearing wheel. My current whelk has a 5/8 bearing but I want to put a 3/4 bearing. Can it be done?

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      hey Sammy, normally the bearings Outside diameters are different. if you went from 5/8 to 3/4 it might work but I think you will run out of room to put the bigger bearing in.

    • @PowerRepublic

      nah don't hit them out, you need to rotate them and pull them out. rear axle bearings that is.
