All we need is a MacBook with touch screen or iPad that can switch to Mac OS when linked to a display
Why do y’all keep asking for this? Apple said this won’t happen
I don’t need nor want a foldable Mac. I need a keyboard. Can’t wait for wwdc to show what’s next
This is how Apple lets themselves to steal your money nicely
Don’t worry. This is not happening.
No you don’t
Good for you. Great 👍 We want a Fold Mac 💻
Boy that sounds like GREAT typing experience. Not awkward at all! NOPE!
Touch bar has taught us that having a screen facing towards the ceiling is a bad idea. Users would need to refocus their vision constantly looking from the front screen to the bottom panel. Furthermore, we'll be looking at it at a 45° angle and inviting unwanted reflections from ceiling lights. It just doesn't work.
Nah man. The app dock is just fine being just an inch or two away from the function row. And do you just never look at your function keys ever? I’m surprised that your eyes just are so static that they can’t move 1.5mm to look down a little.
Personally, I have NO DESIRE for this whatsoever.
Because you are old af!
Yes 🙌🏾
I do 💯
Good for you. Other people DO.
You're not the target audience for this foldable product. Stay in your lane.
🤣🤣🤣
@@PSYCHOV3N0M yea I told him he was too old and I think they deleted my comment lol
Foldable Macbook means iPad running MacOS.
Yeah, that won’t happen, Apple would never do that because it would hinder the sales of the best selling laptop, which is the MacBook Air
You wish, Tim Cook said this will never happen you want MacOS buy a MacBook
@@freddyjason3142IPad pro w/keyboard is much more expensive than an air though
@freddyjason3142 it would still be more expensive, smaller, less sturdy and have shorter battery life than the MBA.
@@itsacookie1 and that’s another reason why Apple would never do this, not only the fact that laptops like this have already been made and were complete failures because when someone buys a laptop, they want a keyboard, and Apple don’t follow failures
Commercial break at 5:07 regular programming resumes at 6:18
I want a MacBook with a modem. How hard is that?
Based, things would be sooooo much easier if these were available. I really don't understand why it isn't an option rn.
A friend of Marques & Christine, is a friend of mine. Been subscribed for a little while now and I'm loving your content Brian.. Keep up the great work bro, you have a bright future ahead of you!
Having looked at the Lenovo Yogabook i9 and the Asus ZenBook Duo 2024, I would love to see an Apple foldable laptop. Granted, those two are not foldables but rather hinged dual screens, the Apple one is similar in concept. Those other two also come with a detachable keyboard that when placed on the lower screen turns it into a traditional laptop. I would not be surprised if Apple followed suit with a detachable physical keyboard, probably as an optional extra. Depending on cost, I’d certainly consider one. Put the keyboard in front of the unfolded display and you’d have a near 19” screen sitting on its side. Having the option of a 13” or 19” laptop would be nice.
My MacBook is already foldable, and it has a real tactile keyboard. Don't see any reason to switch to this for professional work. It does look slick though.
I am not interested in foldable stuff. I am happy with my mac.
Your Crazy 🤪
That’s foldable 😂 jkjk
Foldable screens** lol….joking, not being a TH-cam A-hole commenter
@@brendonwhartonfit haha 😆
This would be cool if they also created a magnetic keyboard that snapped on like MagSafe. Mac OS with Apple Pencil support would be a MBP killer for me.
You’ll never see this
Journal for the win!!! A 11” & 13”! Let’s gooo!!!
Great meeting you!! Hope you enjoyed the sticker! ❤😊
You rock Myron! Thanks so much!
The Apple Vision Pro is awesome! I sent mine back though because their just isn’t enough for it.
As far as the look and feel. Awesome! And the dual loop felt great on me.
I have a family member that has been actively using the iPad Mini 2 for over 10 years, and it’s still fast enough to get relatively lightweight tasks done. The iPad’s longevity in usefulness does make it wasteful to trade it in compared to most devices IMO.
How about if Apple can put a MacOS Connect App on the iPad. You get a MacOS app icon on the iPadOS. And when you click that you get a cloud access to your MacOS remotely where you can access all your Mac apps and Mac OS as if you are browsing your MacBook remotely.
That's an excellent idea but for now Apple is happy to leave RDP and VNC to other companies eg MS and various other start-ups using VNC. Personally I'd prefer such a Native Apple App baked in as you correctly say or even Parallels in the App store for iPad (with virtualization hyper-visor enabled) to then pick a desktop OS for a sub price.
Yes!
Tim Cook said this will never happen
@@commentarytalk1446no it’s a terrible idea ever heard of windows 8
When you think about the foldables and thinner phones or tablets it kind of make sense from Apple to make these thinner...
For example if this is the thinnest Ipad and then we get a thinner Iphone, and since foldables usually look like two phones stacked when closed, It is possible for them to make a foldable ipad or iphone that is very thin as a foldable with decent battery life for a foldable from the start of their line-up
That's a neat idea, we'll see what happens.
Thanks for sharing. Blessings on your day.
It all depends on how the Pencil works on the foldable MacBook and how the Pencil will work over the screen crease.
This MacBook will also need a programmable on screen hotkey solution.
The Surface MPP/NTrig stylus is inferior so it isn't really an option.
I'm open to see what the final product is proposed to do. I do not believe that it would be a better experience than a MacBook due to the physical keyboard being a part of the reason why I use a MacBook over my iPad but you never know until you try it!
It seems to me that Apple would only be considering a keyboardless laptop cause they can foresee a time when audible input, conversational input has replaced the need for a keyboard.
My Macbook already folds - screen over keyboard.
Apple doesn't want me to retire, ever. And, you know what? I'm okay with that.
Just invest the same amount in Apple that you spend and you’ll get your money back over time😂
@@brendonwhartonfit Dude, if I would have done that in college... I'd be very well off right now. (Graduated '00, UT El Paso... Go Miners!)
there are a lot in the Apple space i have seen say they don't want a foldable iphone, but i can see the benefit of having something to foldout to the size of an ipad mini on the go
a foldable mac? i am not sure exactly it's purpose unless it comes with it's own magic keyboard and trackpad the way you use currently with the ipad
I’m happy with my new 13 inch iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil Pro. At some point I would like an iMac or a Mac Mini with a larger screen.
Every WWDC is the most important ever, every single iPad or iPhone refresh is always biggest refresh since original iPad or iPhone. :D
im not fond of folding screen. durability and prestige issue (yes i prefer rigid laminated glass) i prefer lenovo or microsoft approach. 2 screen and ditch the keyboard. look futuristic.
Apple should make an exclusive deal with MSG Sphere in Vegas. The 3D depth and panoramic views would be perfect for VisionPro.
It’s gonna cost an arm and a leg without anesthesia. I can’t wait for GTA making fun of iFruit company! XD
Apple vision pro killer app should be spatial computing. It shouldn’t just give you a bigger screen for the MacBook that is on your desk. It should give you a virtual Mac computer with ALL the apps you know and love. The lineup is Mac mini, MacBook, iMac, iMac Pro, and Apple Vision Pro. I don’t understand why Apple is dragging their feet on this; it’s obvious.
Yaaaaasssss!!! Apple foldables!!!
Is this an attempt to merge iOS with MacOSX in a new form factor design perhaps - go to one product line maybe?
18.8 / 2 = 9.4" on one half. Does not make ANY SENSE at that size.
If it's sitting on a table the minimum needs to be per half of screen for both typing and viewing is 11". If you use a Surface Go it's 10.5" and already extremely crammed. The 11" is not intended to be used for long periods with a lot of info on screen - you can use external monitor or combo with mac instead but it is possible to use as a mini ipad. A virtual keyboard at 11" is also very crammed see Magic Keyboard Dock for typing. Any smaller is a no go imho.
The size does not stack up imho. Also the size at either 20-18" means the weight even with thinner tech is still going to end up being too heavy comparing to 580g 13" iPad which is both cumbersome in dimensions to hold and type at full screen.
Finally, "minimal crease is a non-starter": People will abhore a crease in these things in the same way they won't adopt headsets that are heavy.
The only reason for Apple to release this is to flog super-expensive hardware that has solved all the material science problems of such a device: Thin as paper, Comfortable to hande, durable, non-creasing, correct size and versatile. I don't see any indication of those material problems being solved in foldable screens so far? For sure will try to find a way to make a 2-in-1 that is super expensive to sell more hardware as strategy but I have my doubts about foldable being ready yet. More likely an iPad that's thinner, lighter, top hardware and accessory keyboard to combo into 2-in-1 and charge x2 price of a Pro iPad so no cannabalizing of iPad + Macbook ie alternative price point is equivalent to seeling 2 devices from Apple's pov.
Interesting info so thanks for posting.
Yes
I actually think they should tie this to the iPad family if they do so. I like a physical keyboard and can't imagine not having one on my MacBook.
Hi @briantong -- where I can that awesome yellow iPhone case ?
I love your youtube shows ... keep up the great video productions
Big no. Can we just get some new mac studios with m4 and maybe a nice Promotion OLED studio display?
Large foldable displays seem stupid. Would rather see a. Foldable 13” iPad.
No. Bad idea. Love my MacBook primarily due to tactic keyboard
1 screen is sufficient. Not wanting to pay $ to repair additional screens. As they may have interconnection where repair 1 screen will need to replace the other.
This is a reason to escape from giving OLED screen.
Totally agree that WWDC this year is make it brake for Apple. As the eco system isn’t going to keep people when you see what other companies are doing.
I’ve been imagining something like this, from seeing the galaxy Z Fold. With having the two in one product of some sort.
And I wish it would be lay flat so that it can be like a iPad ultra.
I want a 15” or 16” iPad Pro at WWDC. My order would be in the minute it was available.
Movies are going to be so much better when they hit the Vision Pro!!
I am rocking a 3rd gen 9 inch iPad but I went all in for the new iPad Pro (1T) Upgrade? lol
If this happens I don’t buy it would be all touch. That’s been tried and it sucks. It would be like the foldables with the keyboard that sits on the bottom screen.
just what apple needs another device that people (not all) wont buy because it will be super expensive. I had an appel vision pro and sent it back because there just isnt enough apps and uses for it.
I would love to get excited for my iphone also but none of the updates so much for it and I cant imagine ios 18 will be that great either.... Time will tell though
I have run Windows on an ipad. Removing in.
I laughed when you said hey mama cause in mind i knew what awaits you when you didn’t say hi to your mama when you see her 😅
Dragon’s Lair would be great in Applevision pro
Viture AR Pro with SpaceWalker emulates many aspects of the Vision Pro for about 1/7 of the cost
Vision OS must embrace more live and educational content to be more indispensable:) and 20+% lighter and with at least 3+ hour battery with overall cost factor of 1999.99
They got rid of the only touch component on macbooks and now they are going all in??
If that’s the only way to have an IPad with Mac OS. I would love it.
I don’t see this as something I’d like to have, also given how durable flexible displays are, this would be a very fragile product
Not a Mac Book user. But that would be cool.
We need foldable iPhone. Already had friends defect to Samsung and the form factors folding offers are so much more interesting.
Loving it
Just had to work. No gimmicks.
iPad with a Mac OS mode is far more appealing to me (I assume a folding Mac would be touch screen?)
After seeing this, having a crazy powerful iPad Pro makes a lot more sense.
Not interested in a foldable Mac . Maybe an iPhone and I’m still doubting it . Wouldn’t mind a touch screen Mac , or the iPad that runs Mac OS
Hell no on the folding. I fold clothes after laundry. NOT a touchscreen. Smh
Apple trying to go Samsung/LG approach. Corny as hell
This makes zero sense. If it's an all screen device, it's most likely going to be all touch, therefore it would be a foldable iPad and not a foldable MacBook. Also, I don't really see the value in a foldable device of any sort. The only thing I could think of is a MacBook which replaces the keyboard and trackpad with a touch display. This basically takes the Touchbar concept to all screen. Maybe there'd be some interesting use cases, but I'd see it as two separate screens, rather than a single foldable screen.
Yes...dual monitor foldable macbook or ipad 💯 a win
foldable mac? YES PLEASE!!!
Instead of an IPad Pro with Mac OS we get this lmao.
Not for me.
Nope. Just the thought of it brings to my mind a death-counter starting from 100, counting down every time I fold it. Nope.
More like MacPad
Apple will definitely not do this. There has already been folding laptops that were complete failures, and Apple doesn’t follow failures
Edit: I remember when people were saying that the iPad was gonna get macOS, and I knew that would never happen because it would hinder the sales of the best selling laptop, which is the MacBook Air
I have desire for anything foldable.
No! I woild take a 18" Ipad before I would want a foldable Macbook. But we need an updated OS for the Ipad to run desktop apps!
No
TBH… yeah, kinda. I’d probably unfold it all the way and use it with a Magic Keyboard and Trackpad tho
Sounds so pointless, an another way for them to increase profits
No.
Foldable Macbook, Nope! Leave the Macbook lineup as it is. Typing exercience will not be the same, I want to hear that clicking sound and feel those keys when typing. Perhaps.... they can make the Macbook-Pro screen detachable from the keyboard, and then we can finally use the screen like a Ipad Pro
If it runs MacOS….well I will consider it and not fold it lol. I will use it as an iPad running CAD and software I need I can’t use on iPad.
I’m happy with my iPad Pro M1
I think I'd rather have a foldable iPhone. It would be nice to unfold it for the times when I want to watch something on a bigger screen--and not have to carry a separate device like an iPad.
The new surfaces don’t run full windows. No games.
Hard pass for me, unless they make the OS very compelling
🍏
THE MACBOOK "FOLDABLE" COULD HAVE A CONVENTIONAL KEYBOARD AS WELL THAT IS DETACHABLE SO YOU CAN REALLY ENJOY THE DISPLAY WHEN IT IS UNFOLDED AND THE WHOLE TOUCH-DISPLAY IS USED AS 1 LARGER WIDESCREEN THAT COULD ALSO BE PROPPED UP BY THE SAME STAND.
My MacBook already folds?
I would much rather have a MacBook with a screen under the keyboard that changes the “key display” contextually based on what app you are using…
I would rather a foldable iPhone or maybe an iPad mini that folds open to a larger screen size.
No
Too many issues with a foldable Mac... touch screen only and no keyboard for a laptop doesn't that mean it's an "iPad"? Hmmm.... this will be one to watch as rumors swirl.
Time stamps.
Very late to launch dual screen..
Aren't laptops foldable already? Like you can fold the screen down.
I'm sure they will do a good job but I don't like foldable anything
Why do some people only give moms the hand me downs?
Moms deserve to choose and pick which new phone she wants.
She does. But mom doesn't need/want all the latest and greatest. She gets a new phone when she needs it.
@@briantong that's so true, 5 minutes after explaining the difference between one or the other they normally just say they want the same they always had.
I just bought an M4 13 inch iPad Pro y’all trying to make me buy another tablet
Doesn't that make it an iPad with MacOS?
why
No thanks to the foldable.
Don’t care for the foldable MacBook 💻 that price is crazy too since it’s as much as the Vision Pro
