  • In this video i will be showing you how to use OBD Eleven to find turbo boost leaks, i use my MK6 Golf on this video to demonstrate how to do it. My results are pretty shocking as my turbo is always spooling higher pressure than required. But on the leak side it on has a tiny boost pressure leak which is not bad for a 11 year old car.

The 1bar showing is atmospheric pressure, its normal and nothing to worry about.

Did you ever figure out why the actual pressure was so much higher than the specified? I am having the same issue

It is normal to have 1 bar higher apparently due to atmospheric pressure

I am late to the party here. But, what you were experiencing is a Wastegate Actuator failure. They fail quite frequently.
Your Actual is higher than the Specified because the WG Actuator is not functioning correctly to open/close the Wategate flapper. In this instance - you are over boosting (so stay out of boost) and then the actuator mechanism is catching up at some point. But, it is faulty.
The ECU may not even throw any codes - unless you have a hard acceleration and you go into Limp mode. Otherwise, you will be dumping more fuel and feal sluggish at times.
