So it wasn't really a case that Ireland wouldn't let your 'van in, it was that you had no licence ( and thus no insurance) for a < 7.5 ton vehicle?

Hello both, if your mum was born in Ireland Janine, you can apply for an Irish passport which is quite easy. You need your mums birth
certificate& your wedding certificate and some other documents . Go online to get all the information. My husband is Welsh and
We went to Europe last year for 4 months on my Irish passport. He is allowed to travel with me as he cannot infringe on my right to travel. It’s worth looking into. Good luck looking forward to seeing the rest of your Irish adventures. 🍀

When we travel in our Peugeot Boxer Advangarde I keep the weight down by only filling up with 23 or so litres and we carry water in 5 litre bottles not in the water tank. Just stock up every other or every day at taps we find or buy a 5 litre bottle if necessary the plastic is a waste but obviously put it for recycling. I sometimes keep a bottle in my rucksack and fill it in a toilet with a large cup or you could use a small pipe. We don’t use the taps just pour the bottles also we fill 1.5 litre bottles. Yes more work but we are only on holiday! I am on the look out for a T6 so glad to hear you like your hire model.

You will love Kenny's bookshop in Galway, if you like old bookshops. Just finished watching the video, excellent. Yep Dublin is crazily expensive, especially the Temple Bar area. The Irish economy is still booming so sadly costs are very high, mind you, once you get out of Dublin prices are more reasonable. You have to visit Galway and head out to Connemara and visit Clifden. Its very special. The Mayo/Sligo coastline is very pretty and not as busy as down South (Clare/Kerry/Cork). Enniscrone sea-weed baths, Downpatrick, Ceide Fields are all worth a visit. Lots of sheep !
Safe travelling around Ireland and I'm sure ye will have a ball.

Kilkenny has loads of historic buildings, a Castle, pubs, music, culture and food with lots of shops. You could travel 17 miles to Rathanna or Borris and walk up Mount Leinster where the views are fantastic and finish in the quaint pub Osborne’s at the end. There is no place in Ireland not worth a visit - my homeland - I wish I was there right now with family and friends. I have worked in Dublin north and Dun Laoighre and never visited Guinness - will do on our next visit. I loved your TH-cam - it keeps my desire alive to visit again and to visit London where I professionally trained and our friends in Yorkshire - both beautiful countries. Enjoy your trip and have one for me - Slainte.

Great vlog! Co Donegal has absolutely fabulous beaches. If you do come to Northern Ireland at Derry/ Londonderry, you can walk the walls if the city. Coming along the coast, Mussenden Temple is worth a look. If coming to the Giants Causeway, there is a way to access the stones without paying a fortune. Look for an entrance at the back of the car park. Portstewart and Portrush also have great beaches.

Hi guys, if you’re heading inland to Janines home in Westmeath head to Athlone. There’s a dispute about the oldest pub in Ireland, some say it’s in Dublin and others say it’s in Athlone. The one in Athlone is called Sean’s bar. I’m from the midlands and it’s my favourite spot in Athlone (and you won’t get charged €10 a pint 😅). Enjoy your trip 😊

It's been a long time since my best mate and I went camping in Ireland, and the prices at The Temple bar weren't so shocking back them (90s). We just happened to arrive over Easter, when various cities were hosting the Pan Gaelic Music festival, so we'd arrive somewhere, set up camp, then just follow someone carrying a musical instrument. On the other side of the river from The Temple Bar is Fibber Magees,... really liked that place.

Hi Liam & Janine, we went to Dublin a few years ago and man was it expensive, we were there for just three nights and we spent over £500, I think it was a total rip off and I don't think we will go back because of the expense, on the other hand the people are really really nice, in the hotel where we stayed we were paying over eleven euro's for a pint and a half of cider and I got talking to a lovely older Irish gentleman who wanted to buy us a drink and I told him there was no way he was doing that because of the cost but what a lovely gesture. The Guinness factory looks like it has a few more features than when we were there and looks like it is a really good tour now it's a pity you didn't get a photo of the lease, I am sure it is something like a 9,500 year lease. enjoy the rest of your stay and I hope it gets cheaper lol

near \dublin is the beautiful and scenic Glen-da-lough in the wicklow mountains, interconnecting lakes and streams in a valley of multi colour heather on rocks glistening with mica and it has a tor from 900ce, well worth a visit.
