Small correction for the mechanic about walking out of an AOE and the DoT still being applied, this seems to only apply to intercept bosses not all enemies so I misspoke regarding that. If you guys find that this works with other enemies please let me know! Luckily this mechanic is most important versus intercept bosses because of how much they move. Also, if you have the Shot Focus mod that is a great flex option for the Boss Gun build. You would need to drop a lot of HP for it but in some cases this could be a better option for the extra damage. I am still trying to get the mod unfortunately so could not show that in the video
It's not really a bug. When you cast your V you have 12% crit on ground. Shoot a blop blop first, go on the water, than follow with your V. The C can also be used to get water in strategic positions to cast good V's.
2:30 is not a bug, basically how the game works is that when you cast a ability, the ability calculator takes a snapshot of your stats/modifiers/buffs at the moment of you casting it, a way to get around what you showed even faster and using less mp, is using Q since q also does little puddles which you can use to buff yourself, pretty simple, always cast on top of water and youll be fine

I think the reason the first V doesn’t have the crit rate is because when you activate the move you technically aren’t in any water yet so you don’t get the supply moisture buff but when you do it the second time because you activated it while in your first pool of water you get the supply moisture buff this would mean that abilities in this game snapshot to the stats they had when they where first cast which I didn’t know before this vid good to know
Not sure if the snapshot is intentional or not but the display also shows the crit rate being buffed on the character stat sheet so there's a bug one way or another. It is unintuitive regardless, when you V you spawn a pool of water under your feet so one would think you'd be getting the crit buff based on the description and the fact it is registering that you are on water based on your character sheet.
Its def a snapshot else stepping out of water would reupdate the ticks back to 12% , which my guess means you can do neat tricks by stacking some sorta skill buff and using v to make it last its whole duration.@@MeuiYT

Love the build although i have a few adjustments i’d make. I would ideally replace mp collector with decimator and mp conversion with time distribution. You’ll still have somewhat 100% uptime on your cleanup ability and the -15% mp loss that you would have gotten if you had mp comversion equipped could be replaced with time distribution for both decreased cooldown and a little bit of extra hp.

Another quick question: supply moisture increases skill crit rate by 20% , when im standing as is, my skill crit rate is 10.77% - when i use supply moisture and stand on water, it shoots up to 53.85%… my question is, how do you calculate that increase? It looks way more than 20%. 🤔
So this is how the calculation works after I thought about it more. It basically adds a base 20% and then adds an additional multiplicative 20% based on the crit rate of your mods. So your base is 5% on Valby. Then you have an additional 5.77%. So if you divide 5.77 by 5, which gives you an additional 115.4% crit rate, the calculation would be 25 + (.2 x 115.4) = 25 + 23.08. That then equals 48.08. Then if you add back the original 5.77% on top, you get 53.85. Hope that helps :) I actually made a video as well in case others had the same question, because I myself had this question for awhile! th-cam.com/video/p90obbxhgqs/w-d-xo.html
Does Valby only apply additional dots from separate ability activations, or can you apply stacking dots from running through an enemy multiple times in a single activation of Valby's second ability? Awesome video! Learned a lot of Valby mechanics here!
Great question. 1 DoT per ability but you can stack the same ability type on itself. So V'ing through an enemy 5 times in the same cast will apply 1 DoT. V'ing through the enemy 5 times in 5 different casts will be 5 DoTs.

After a few trial and error, seems like it mostly happened on pool of water that have more than 1 layer but still not consistent. Like the first V, followed by the second one. When the water layer of the first one gone, supply moisture sometimes turned off even when the second water layer is still on going. Or when I used Q, followed by V. Sometimes supply moisture is not activated for the V (the supply moisture icon did not glow blue. It was glowing when Q was cast but turned off after V). The way it normally works most of the should be as you explained in this video. The first V will not actually have the supply moisture effect. But even when it is used alone, the icon glow blue (but without the actual crit increase until you cast the next skill which supply moisture take effect)
Did something change in the way the dots stack and build up? Same boss dotting build but as soon as the boss steps out of the puddles nothinga nd half the time im just chasing them down to try to get a puddle under them and the dots are not stacking
Again to clarify on the others that said it’s not a bug but it’s a snapshot, they are right. The stat sheet shows your stats AT THAT SPECIFIC TIME you’re checking. It’s not the stats of skills you’ve already cast. You say the 1&2 don’t snapshot but from my experience they also do.
This is likely it. It displays on the character sheet at having the crit which is the weird part. I hope they do change how that works cause it feels unintuitive and awkward
@@Sorteid Me too friend. There's a lot of players who just aren't going to realize (rightfully so since it doesn't make sense), and basically get no bonuses from the Supply Moisture mod.
It's call "Snapshot". All skills in First Descendant tend to do this other than for specific mechanics like Gley lowering her HP and Bunny getting more Electric meter. This is why if when using her movement skill as the first thing, she's not standing on water to get the crit rate buff on cast and thus for the rest of that duration it will still not have the increased crit rate. This also means that if you have the buff up and then step off the water, it will keep the crit rate buff even though you're not on water any more for the rest of the duration of that skill. This is a very common thing in many video games. Simply put, her skills "snapshot" the state of your stats when you cast the skill. And thus will NOT be adjusted after the cast and will need to wait for the next cast.
Also have to completely disagree that she's not great at bossing and it's not just "you can make her work". Valby is one of the best at bossing because of - Supply Moisture in two different builds - Supply Moisture makes her one of the best users of weapons, just behind Enzo (his buffs are just huge) because of that +20% Crit Rate. This crit rate is a modifier to her BASE STATS of both her Skill and Firearm, meaning it is further enhanced by any and all Crit Rate modifiers she has (including Enzo's buff if he's around meaning she'll have higher Crit Rate then him using his own buffs). This allows Valby to just shred bosses with guns alone. - Supply Moisture's DoT's are insane, even on bosses and the Python exists. The Python will shred a crazy -102.8% Non-Attribute RES from a target (as well as -37.4%Toxic RES. sp build that Python with Toxic Element damage in substats and in mods....). This RES shredding allows even a Valby purely built for DoTs to deal the full DPS to bosses as they'll have no resistance to her skills at all, while the Python itself is a beast of a boss killing weapon when maxed and allows for it's own toxic damage to skyrocket (also an best in slot as Freyna's weapon for this very reason, though not to the same extent as Valby). Her other mods (most of them) can be made quite good too, but there is a reason why Valby with Moisture Supply is placed in S-Tier (Tier 0, or whatever you want to call it) for both mobbing and bossing. There really isn't anything she cannot do. Not to mention one of her new exclusive Ultimate only mods that trivializes the instant kill mechanic of Gluttony to the point that it might as well not exist. If you rate her as low as Bunny for bossing..... there's something very wrong...... (....max out your Python!)
It works different on her 1 and 2 so please explain that then since you're so knowledgable about snapshotting. If you are moving around while casting your 1 it still works. Wheres the snapshot?
just got my ult valby, decided to look for build and found your video. I was afraid to grind the supply moisture but turns out i already have one lol, now all i need is shot focus
I'm pretty sure you're aware now it's been 3 weeks, but right next to Z is the Supply moisture Icon. If that is not glowing when you start your move, you will not get the buff No matter how long your ability last. So cast your ability when you see that glowing.
I kinda started my ult valby build yesterday but itd going good and luckily i haven't slotted some spots for mods cause your build looks op. I got super lucky getting supply moisture before ult valby came out lol. My thunder cage is maxed out except my rolls and reactor needs to be better for it. 😂 I haven't faced pyro yet. Hope hes easy doing it solo
i assume the supply moisture only procs the second time because you cast it while already standing in water and it stays that way whether u stay or leave. i'm wondering if it truly is a bug or if it's a heavy mistranslation of how it's supposed to work. perhaps the mod means crit increase when casting while valby is on water and not ''while valby stands on water regardless of cast position''
Can you switch Dangerous ambush for Lethal infection so that the damage of the dots increases over time ?? I believe the synergy between supply moisture + lethal infection = More dot damage overtime ??
You notice that the crit rate stays up if u leave the water. Why dont u make a 1+1 and figure out that the crit buff is applied when you use a skill? Its NOT a bug. The moment you use a skill the crit buff is applied. But in the first instant of a skill there is no water to stand on. When the skill creates water its already too late for the buff to apply because the skill is already in use.
What are your thoughts on HV bunny against SM valby, if we're looking to invest on / max only one? Considering how much it takes to max out a character I'd like to know which one is the better investment.
My complete honest opinion is that High Voltage Bunny is the best investment you can make in the game currently. She is good at literally everything and will be the fastest farmer across the game, minus intercept bosses. But she can still do crazy amounts of damage there too. Valby is amazing as well but from a proficiency standpoint Bunny is going to be the most bang for your buck.
@@MeuiYT Thank you. Looking forward to your Enduring Legacy video :) picking a weapon is just as tough as a descendent especially with the frequent changes
I don' think the crits are bugged since the dots use the crit rate you had when they were applied and being in your V doesn't immediately count as being in water
How would you change this build if you have to focus on boss only, no mobbing. In this scenario, would gun build still be stronger than crit dot? I ask because I have bunny for mobbing already so no need to accommodate a mobbing build on Valby.
Definitely gun build in this case. I would personally not recommend speccing Valby solely for bossing because there's much better characters for bossing but if you wish to do that go with the Gun setup and you can adjust some of the less important mod slots like Agony, and the 2 Almadine mods to something you prefer.
@@MeuiYT Thanks man. I see your point about not using Valby for boss, but man, Bunny mobbing just makes everything else feel bad. I already have a Lepic for bossing as well, so my Ulti Valby is in a weird spot.
Hey Meui! I have read over your builds/read the google doc. I just had a quick question: would it be okay to slot something else outside of the two crits or changing them to C and R sockets to put in iron defense and HP in? Do you or anyone in the comments have any other suggestions for mods? I am a bit derp-a-derp and will get hit by some boss mechanics due to crippled hands. I have read over the mods and am having a hard time wrapping my head around some of them Appreciate it!
The Crit problem you have to work around is because of Snapshoting. Every Damage over Time ability in the game uses it. The Problem on Valby is that you don't apply the buff directly on you it's the entity you spawn first (Water on the ground) that gives you the buff. That means the DoT and Buff Entity are decoupled from your Avatar and thats why you need to spawn one instanc of water first and stand in it to get the full buff. Its not a Bug it's just differently coded than for example Multitalented, that is applied directly on you as soon as the activation condition is met.
I understand snapshotting. That is not why I said it's a bug. The problem is it is not applying the crit bonus but showing it on the stat sheet. So either the display is bugged, or the snapshotting is incorrect and it should be a constant crit bonus while moving in your V since you are technically on top of water. Bunny had a snapshotting issue so it's possible that this is unintended. If it is intended then the bug would be the display on the character sheet. Either way there is a bug.
Try Greg’s gun. It’s even better than Legacy with her. The bombardment uses the crit damage as well. It works amazing for mobbing, but would actually improve her colossi capabilities.
Nah this gun is crazy built it for crit weakpoint and electric cause electricution is like a mini debuff and strips armor plus valby buff electric dmg it’s actually nuts
as a Freyna main , i couldnt anymore so i had to switch to bunny to atleast have more fun. I wish Freynas DoT could do this much dmg . Can only wait and see what they do for ult Freyna
@@so_dara2951 I mean Freyna DoT is actually higher, but.. you cover such a small area(unless you use ur 4 and single hit every enemy in the area), and her kit seems to be outdated. PS: I kinda main freyna too but got Lepic, Bunny, Valby and Enzo maxed out
Looking like they are doing a snap shot when u cast a ability and since when you first start the water slide you have 12% it is using that as a base. Its the lazy way to code in buffs.
Bro i did the same build but my dmg is low against legion of immortality and legion of darkness . And my dmg is the same with the video only against order of truth can you explain why ?

I actually don't have the new pistol so not entirely sure. Don't want to give you an answer without knowing personally first. Once I do get it I will absolute do some testing because those crit numbers look insane and the passive plays off dimension abilities.
I currenly have a normal Valby im wondering if buying the Ultimate is worth it instead of using the Caliber to buy crystals and mushroom? I dislike the Ultimate skin so it’s less worth it for me tbh.
hello, i don't agree with the fact that we don't want power on our skill. The first skill can land by double jump to the floor and ricochet 6 times and apply 6 dot to the boss. It's extremely powerfull and melt the boss especialy if you use the new greg reversed fate with this mecanic with around 10 seconds devorer ;) The best skill on Valby is by far the Q
You don't know if it's a bug or not. On the display it shows 62% crit rate while my effective crit rate is 12% on the ability. Ultimate Bunny had a bug with her lightning emission snapshotting the damage during use and not applying any scaling factors after its cast and Nexon patched it. This may be the case for this ability as well. I am pointing this out for people who may not realize it so you can play around it properly and keep the benefits of Supply Moisture.
@MeuiYT I do know, you do not have the crt buff when you cast clean up on none water spots. If you cast first skill, then use you will always get the crits. Unless the devs change it, the skill will not crit unless you cast on water first. It will snap shot at 12% crit rate.
@@Kevo1492 Yeah I cover this in the video. It's just that with the 12% crit rate it displays as 62% on the stats page. This makes me think its a snapshotting issue similar to the bunny ability. Regardless I hope they change it cause it's going to confuse a lot of people and its just unintuitive in its current state.
There's definitely a bug. Either in the stat sheet or how the ability works. If the ability is working as intended, stat sheet should not display the high crit rate.

You say the 1&2 don’t snapshot but from my experience they also do.
This is an amazing video. Thank you!
So your 3 snapshots your stats on-cast, I think Bunny 3 used to do the same with your electricity level. Probs not a bug but def annoying.
This is likely it. It displays on the character sheet at having the crit which is the weird part. I hope they do change how that works cause it feels unintuitive and awkward
@@MeuiYT They changed it for Bunny, I hope Valby gets the same love bc having your first cast get 0 benefit is unsatisfying af 😭
@@Sorteid Me too friend. There's a lot of players who just aren't going to realize (rightfully so since it doesn't make sense), and basically get no bonuses from the Supply Moisture mod.
Ill be referencing this in 36 hours 😂 so glad i found your channel 🎉🎉🎉
🤜🤛
What about the rerolls on your thunder cage? What do you have on there
It's call "Snapshot".
Valby is one of the best at bossing because of
- Supply Moisture in two different builds
- Supply Moisture makes her one of the best users of weapons, just behind Enzo (his buffs are just huge) because of that +20% Crit Rate.
@meuiYT i think i was just doing the valby run with you... And now your video popped up on my TH-cam. Lol crazy
just got my ult valby, decided to look for build and found your video.
That icon is actually inaccurate at times as well unfortunately
Did you try Decimator? Feels like it works really well for Valby
Great vid/build I'm gonna try this thanks! Also she can stand on any water in the game and hers and still applies i thought that was cool!
Yes I did forget to mention this but very much true. Thanks for the kind words :)
Idk when or where but i ended up getting Supply Moisture to drop, so...I guess imma be working on Valby at some point soon lmao
Suffering from success
@@MeuiYT Yet i've done like 8 runs of Heart of the Fortress trying to get Focus on Fire and havn't had luck yet lmao
I already had supply moisture, had two more drop yesterday, along with some Ajax mod
her ultimate is good for when your team is reviving and there are enemies around them
Thank you for your video, it helped me a lot
Randomly came across you in a game, now Randomly coming across you on TH-cam. Great build
I’m liking the DoT build a lot however I think I’ll be switching the battle of stamina with something else
I can't seem to get hp collector tried 5%"mission. There's loads of locations that don't show it or percent.
Not true for her 1 or 2. Based on stat sheet and visual of the ability itself you are on water while using your 3.
Hey, great video, which mod I should replace with Shot Focus? I have that mod and would like to use it on the boss gun build
Unless you swap polarities youll have to drop some hp and make up for it on components if you need more
How would you change this build if you have to focus on boss only, no mobbing.
I have read over the mods and am having a hard time wrapping my head around some of them
Appreciate it!
@@MeuiYT I see, my fault for miss interpretin it.
no shot focus on this build?
Thanks for sharing. There is a vídeo of the araponga module?
Boss build focused on firearm is missing shot focus module
I dont have it unfortunately but yes if you are willing to drop some hp this is a great flex option
Would you consider Decimator instead of MP collector? Any input on it?
Try Greg’s gun. It’s even better than Legacy with her. The bombardment uses the crit damage as well. It works amazing for mobbing, but would actually improve her colossi capabilities.
Nah this gun is crazy built it for crit weakpoint and electric cause electricution is like a mini debuff and strips armor plus valby buff electric dmg it’s actually nuts
Meui how do you have that black & green UI in your inventory?
It came from the battlepass I believe
@@MeuiYT Yh just seen it 😂.
Hey @MeuiYT, how would you change this build to use the new mod on gluttony? I'd like to use her in that fight. Thanks!
I dont have that mod but likely just survivability, duration, and cooldown. Not entirely sure how the mod scales but thats my assumption
For crit what about Secret Garden? I heard it had a good crit rate
Absolutely a great choice
If you didn't have Almandine catalyzed slots for your Bossing build would you add more HP and Defense instead?
Can you make a viable build for Gluttony by chance? Useful build for Orbs or damage for that fight specifically? Good stuff though man
Ooo have u ever considered using decimator for mobbing? That could yield more dmg
Can you do an updated valby build please
Quick question how do you get that reactor? I'm struggling to find where you can farm for it. Do i have to wait for that rotation?
*Valby stacking dots*
Freyna: is THIS allowed???
as a Freyna main , i couldnt anymore so i had to switch to bunny to atleast have more fun.
PS: I kinda main freyna too but got Lepic, Bunny, Valby and Enzo maxed out
Wouldn't it be better to use the non crit mods or no
If u go into a circle with ur v and pass an area twice does that stack or do u have to use ur v twice for it to stack?
It does not. It has to be separate casts to stack up
Looking like they are doing a snap shot when u cast a ability and since when you first start the water slide you have 12% it is using that as a base. Its the lazy way to code in buffs.
Bro i did the same build but my dmg is low against legion of immortality and legion of darkness . And my dmg is the same with the video only against order of truth can you explain why ?
@@jhard6936 different factions have different elemental resistances
Do you think hydrobomb and spiral tidal wave good.ones? kinda disappointed the new mods not good as supply moisture
Unfortunately not
Geat vid, i would add a lvling guid or budget build. For core mods and then add the rest
Great recommendation and plan to go over mod priority in order for future videos which should essentially cover that.
@@MeuiYT this I would love to see. I'm building valby next and would love to know priority for budget so I can use her to farm for everything else
This is unrelated to the video, but did they remove the hydro pressure bomb transcendent mod from the game? It doesnt come up when you search for it in the access info database anymore.
It's glitched, it appears under a different name. I believe both of Valby's mods have the same name as two Viessa mods.
@@Afrognamedglen ah ok. Thanks I appreciate it
Maybe someday Ill get this mod 😥 grinded her ult put an Energy Activator into her but just can not get this mod to save my life. Tons of module combines, missions on Fortress and Hagios. Countless void fusion reactors and still not a single one. Getting kinda bummed about it 😬
Two gold moduls? Is it possible to install two gold modules?
Yes there is 2 different types of gold mods one is more for damage one is utility
do you think youd try the new pistol with valby? (if its in the video sorry im about halfway through)
I actually don't have the new pistol so not entirely sure. Don't want to give you an answer without knowing personally first. Once I do get it I will absolute do some testing because those crit numbers look insane and the passive plays off dimension abilities.
@@MeuiYT sounds good to me i agree the gun seems insane crit stat wise for valby
whats your priority for mods?
Using your Q ability is a lot faster and easier than using C, and it does the same thing.
My man over drew a PP with Valby 2:58 XD Jokes aside does the buff applies to teammates or just self buff ?
i'm just Curious how you deal against bosses, i mean how you increase LP at all? 6k is bit to low ? :c
I always start the fight with a Q so the bug never affects me!
Your Q spawns water underneath you, has low cd and is quick to go out, just Q before using her V.
Not a bug, if your passive skill not lit up you don't get buff you have to cast on water to get buff
Instead of Non attribute mod you can use Focus shot and you get 15% more Firearm Atk
I currenly have a normal Valby im wondering if buying the Ultimate is worth it instead of using the Caliber to buy crystals and mushroom? I dislike the Ultimate skin so it’s less worth it for me tbh.
Saw a build on tiktok with skill simplification that does 400k normal ticks. Is there a reason why you dont use that mod?
Because I value Cooldown more for a bit less damage. Cooldown lets you stack your dot more in one spot.
hello,
i don't agree with the fact that we don't want power on our skill. The first skill can land by double jump to the floor and ricochet 6 times and apply 6 dot to the boss. It's extremely powerfull and melt the boss especialy if you use the new greg reversed fate with this mecanic with around 10 seconds devorer ;)
The best skill on Valby is by far the Q
Idk if the UI is different from stat sheet but when I jump to use her first ability the supply moisture buff goes away while mid air
Edit : I look the stat while i double jump and u keep de buff active.
I tested now and finally you don't have to jump just look the floor before the Q
Its not a bug, you only gain the supply moisture buffs when you activate skills in water. You should always open with your first skill.
@SugarRoll You only get the buff in water, if you cast the first skill while not in water, you don't get the buffs. Her skills snapshot.
I can finally build valby😂, I was waiting for this video tyvm dude💪
dont need ult valby for this btw guys, but if you want the double base defense go for it
Yep works for normal Valby as well!
