What I didn’t mention in the video is that I’ll be away for 2 weeks with…potentially limited reading time, so if I don’t make a dent in Oathbringer this month, I’ll be trying to make up the time in November 🎉
Only Good Indian was a fun read! Once I got the hang of Jones' writing style, it was smooth sailing. And boy, does it get messed up 😏 Joe Hill is awesome. Horns was my first read of his, and I had a blast. And if you don't get to NOS4A2 this spooky season, just know that it's a good read for the Christmas season as well!
I'm glad you're enjoying The Stormlight Archive! I'm caught up on the series and eagerly anticipating the 5th novel. Novellas can be fun as a pallet cleanser. Daniel Greene's novella is very short and rather unsettling for example.
Great lineup! It's so fun that you're committing to all of those chonkers to join the Wind of Truth train. I can't wait!! I'm doing a reread of Rhythm only. I usually do two, but, you know, big books and I got goals.
Great stuff dude, stoked to hear your continued thoughts on Stormlight! WoR turned shallan into a favorite character for me, hope it does the trick for you also!
Yay! I'm so glad you're enjoying Stormlight. When I was reading The Way of Kings on August I told you over IG that a character was giving me all the feels and I was referring to Kaladin....what a rollercoaster of emotions we get with him! I also love Dalinar...such authority and sense of justice we get from this man! You'll love Words of Radiance too. You're about to get a juicy Cosmere connection from another book you've already read (besides our dude that always appears and has a name that starts with "H" lol). I'm reading Oathbringer now. Journey before destination Radiant 😉.
@@RekindledReader Hahaha I don't have a single tattoo in my body and Mistborn has made me consider getting all the allomantic metal symbols 🤣. With Stormlight I'm not sure if I would like a ShardBlade or one of the Glyphs 🤣. You should get a tattoo that says "Airsick lowlanders!" lol.
Words of Radiance is gonna blow your socks off, man. I'm really interested in the Reformatory. NOS4A2 is pretty good and I'd actually highly recommend the audiobook if you have audio time!
The sheer size of those Stormlight books terrify me. lol ;p Glad you are enjoying them though. I have heard good things about The Reformatory. Joe Hill is great!! Actually planning to do a video about him sometime this month. I read The Only Good Indians and it was pretty good!! :) I am deep diving into horror for the month, tis the season. ;p Good luck on all your reads this month! :)
Enjoy all the Horror!! I’m in that mood as well. I randomly started Heart Shaped Box instead and enjoying it but I’ll definitely read Horns soon - Joe Hill is very good. The apple didn’t fall far from the tree.
Hi Theo. Favorite Joe Hill books include NOS4A2 and Heart-Shaped Box. The Only Good Indians is excellent and may haunt you when you go hunting. A clutch of spooky stories you may enjoy are found in The October Country by Ray Bradbury. My October reading may include a story collection, Between Time and Terror, which includes classic horror tales. First story in the book, "The Color Out of Space" by H P Lovecraft. Happy reading.
I read The Fireman by Joe Hill a number of years ago and enjoyed it! Must read more of his. Thanks for highlighting some more books Theo! And cool new intro 👀
Yeah, I'm with you, buddy. I just finished "Assassin's Apprentice" and I'm doing a readathon, but I want to read Book 2 of the series because I fear if I read other books BETWEEN the books, my old brain will forget details! LOL.
The horns!!! Andrew over at wizardly reads truly sold me on it.. I’m hoping to touch it this month but the odds are so low 😂 so many things I need to catch up on
I randomly started Heart Shaped Box instead and enjoying it but I’ll definitely read Horns soon - Joe Hill is very good. The apple didn’t fall far from the tree.
Great video, glad you’re enjoying Stormlight! I’m starting Empire of the Damned today, not sure what’s coming after that. Either going out of my wheel house with a horror read or back into the Dresden files. Only 1 more book till I get to Changes and I’m looking forward to it.
Yesss I'm currently 500pgs into Words of Radiance, so it's also my Oct focus! Started it last month and I'm excited to see if I can get through book 4 by the December release. So far, WoR is so so good.
I hope you enjoy your Stormlight archive read! I’ve been stuck halfway in Rhythm of War since the beginning of the year. Maybe some Sanderson burnout after the year of Sanderson 😢
Some exciting books on this list! I'm currently reading ACOMAF and some of the subject matter is pretty intense, but it is really really good so far. The Reformatory is still on my TBR. I've heard nothing but good things
Hey Theo, interesting list! I’m still working on The Way of Kings but I’m hoping on jumping right into Words of Radiance as soon as I am done. I am reading one or two other books as pallet cleansers: My Roommate is a Vampire and The Tale of Despereaux. So a vampire romantic comedy and a middle grade book. 😊
Yooo, I'm going to be dropping a video about The Reformatory tomorrow, epic timing! I read it because it's on the World Fantasy Award nominees list for this year. That book is extremely uncomfortable and disturbing to experience - the horror in it has absolutely nothing to do with anything supernatural. It's probably going to be one of the best books you've ever read, but not one you enjoy by any means. Will be looking forward to your take on it when you're done! I actually started re-reading Words of Radiance today . . . Dalinar's still the GOAT of this series for me. For Joe Hill, read Horns this month and do NOS4A2 for Christmas 😂Trust me, it works.
@@OnlyTheBestFantasyNovels thanks for this!! Yeah I can see The Reformatory being a lot heavier than I’m anticipating. And you’re totally right, I’m keeping N0S4A2 for Christmas - I actually meant to read it last year. I actually started with Heart Shaped Box shh 🤫
I am mostly mood-reading this Autumn (and speaking of spooky, I think I am scared enough after reading «The Prince of Nothing» Trilogy by R. Scott Bakker this Summer, to the point I might need an exorcism or two in addition to psychological therapy! 😅😂), but my tentative October TBR List: «Midnight Falcon» (Rigante #2) by David Gemmell (Heroic Fantasy/S&S) «Leviathan Falls» (The Expanse, #9) by James S.A. Corey (Space opera, pushed back from this month’s TBR) «The Land Leviathan» (A Nomad of the Time Streams» Trilogy #2) by Michael Moorcock (Multiverse/Alternative History/Time Travel Steampunk(?)😅) «The City» (City of Victory Trilogy #2) by Adrian Goldsworthy (Historical Military Fiction set during Emperor Trajan’s Campaigns) My October MBR List: «Dreaming the Eagle» («Boudica» #1) by Manda Scott (Historical Fiction about the Celtic British Queen and her Rebellion against the Romans) «The Children of Gods & Fighting Men» by Shauna Lawless (Historical Fantasy set in Ireland during the Viking Age) Cheers!😃
@@jasonrstacy thanks man! I actually started Heart Shaped box because I like to lie in my the videos 🤦🏻♂️ Forgot about this one but I’m enjoying it!! The apple didn’t fall too far from the tree.
Also if you want a short horror book check out The Rats by James Herbert. He was the British Stephen King and massively underrated IMO. It’s a punchy, gory, action-packed, old-school horror book celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and one of my all time favourites 🥰
I don't read horror stories because I saw the reasons why they were used in education and I didn't agree with this. I like those that are on the edge of horror (Joe Hill has a series that fits there - Locke & Key). I prefer to read romances this month

Will put it on the TBR, thank you!
Stormlight is well worth prioritizing! Wishing you a wonderful spooky season!
enjoy your Horror books!! Happy reading to you!!
