Supreme Court CJI Bench sternly refuses to allow Mukul Rohatgi's arguments in Electoral Bonds Case

- On Monday, during the hearing in the Electoral Bonds case, the Supreme Court five judge bench led by CJI DY Chandrachud sternly refused to allow arguments by Senior Advocate Mukul Rohtagi on an urgent plea filed by leading industry bodies ASSOCHAM, FICCI and CII. CJI DY Chandrachud told Mukul Rohatgi "Your application is not numbered, it's not registered. What is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander! Just because you're appearing for a big client, we will not tolerate this. You have to follow the rules in my court!" He further said "The whole world knew this matter is being heard... you come after the judgment is delivered... that's not the way! If I do it for Mr Rohatgi, the Senior Counsel, as Chief Justice, I will not have the face to tell all other juniors to whom I deny oral mentioning in the morning. CJI is right. The intervention should have come long ago. The businesses sure do have a valid point in regard to confidentiality on which basis they acted, but they should have intervened right at the time of interim order in 2019.

Worried about junior lawyers.he doesnt have any thing towards common people whose tax money he is enjoying.
For that you should ask the govt to increase number of judges and fill the vacant places, they are daily hearing many cases are they not human you want them to work like modiji who says i work for 18 hrs but most of time busy in election rallies

Here SC court is apex body they should be careful in their decision because it sets precedence ,so their decision based on RULE OF LAW not by personal emotions,and ideologies.CJI was saying him that how they face their juniors if they violate SOP (standard of procedure) and its right to speak about that...

Allegations of nepotism and favouritism are rampant with judges in the collegium recommending their close relatives.We don't know how and when a collegium meets, and how it takes its decisions with no official minutes of collegium proceedings. Can the CJI abolish this system which is unconstitutional .
