@lukebennett. Yeah, but at what cost? Samsung has fallen behind in terms of hardware. They were clearly panicking due to the competition surpassing them so they had to rush this phone out.
@AlienWavesTV Because samsung foldables tend to survive any durability tests while the rest can't. So it's understandable that samsung would still be a lil heavy and lil thick to gain no compromise contrasting the other foldables of different brands that.

Unfortunately, you can't have everything without sacrifices. Perhaps the technology is not available, which is why the other brands do not support accessories well designed similar to the S-Pen, and therefore they have achieved slim foldables.
What a slap in the face to the customers who actually purchased the Zfold6. I've been a samsung user since the s10 and they have really lost their way.
This should be my next phone if it supported spen, I think it's a must. The only thing I dont want in their folding phones before are the tall screen when unfolded.
I'll continue to enjoy my S24 Ultra for probably around 4 years. My next phone in 2029 or 2030 (crazy to think) will likely be fold. By then I expect wonderfully refined products on the market since a decade of folding phones will have been released.
The problem with the folds is that you can't really enjoy them for that long. I had a crack down the crease on my fold 3 a few months after the 1yr warranty expired. I then had issues with the outer screen and half the inner screen of the fold 4 not responding to touch inputs, but I was lucky and got a software update around that time that fixed it. I made sure to get samsung care on my fold 5, and will have to upgrade when the warranty expires next summer. This is not a phone you want out of warranty
This was most likely a prototype for z fold 6 but was shelved for next year. Due to the fierce competition, they decided to release it as a special edition
I predict the sales will be disastrous because of the lack of S-pen. Honestly, I always wanted to switch to iphone, but the S-pen was always the feature that kept me in the note/S family every single time. Even now, I wanted an Iphone 16 pro max, but I want the S-pen with the AI improvements and the ease of signing documents, so I'll wait for the S25 Ultra.
Couldn't really care any less about the S Pen. The true downgrade in my eyes is the fact that they have REEUCED the battery capacity despite the increase in display sizes. Battery life was already subpar on their regular fold. Now SE is going to consume more energy and have an even smaller battery.
Not including the Spen is rediculous. The fact that they know these pens would damage the screen beforehand really raises doubts about the screen quality.
COME ON SAMSUNG!, its a significantly bigger phone to the OG fold 6 yet no battery size increase! Fold 7 needs to have all of Fold6 SE + bring S-pen back and battery to 5000
I feel like this was Samsung's attempt to see if the fold isn't really selling due to the form factor. I really want to see if anyone is going to sell a tri fold in America. Or did China just prove that we are old and outdated.
Am curious but why haven't foldable displays gone up to 4k 120hz ?? Like why are phones stuck at 1080p are 1440p. I think its time for the display resolutions to go up !!
No S pen support ? That's what makes Samsung great. I personally use the spen alot. This is a downgrade. If one has fold 5 or 4, there's no need to upgrade
S-pen and periscope zoom (ideally the old 10X optical for a total zoom of X200) are a must for me. Also, better durability. Yes, it will be heavier, but that's expected. You don't buy a tank and then complain it's too heavy 😅 You don't need a front facing camera on the folded display, you'd normally video call with the phone folded. With how slow the fold is evolving, maybe I'll get the Z-Fold 20 Ultra, if they bring the S-pen back 😂
It's disgusting that they finally make a device that the whole world has been waiting for them to do at least 2 generations ago when the Z Fold 4.came out only for the best device to only be coming out in China and Korea. Does not make sense. I think Samsung have gone mad. I would definitely purchase this device as this is what I was waiting for. Hence why I never purchased the Z Fold 6 and opted for the S24 Ultra.
If the phone had a much larger battery and the S Pen, I would have been willing to spend $2,890 CAD on it. However, it looks like I'll wait for the regular Z Fold 6 to drop in price before upgrading from my S21 Ultra and purchasing it next year. I am highly disappointed with Samsung.
The phone is an encouraging step forward, but unfortunately it is not enough. The size is large, the battery is small, and the screen does not support S pen.
They haven't figured out how to store the pen and unless you have a case for it, users won't miss s pen support. They need to make the pen usable on both screens and store it internally for it to make sense.. I would rather it be a little thicker and keep the bigger screen size
I wouldn't judge it too hard and take it as an experiment as it is launching at certain regions, but the SE is a bit of a letdown with no battery upgrades and Spen support.
All the feedback from this would make its way to the Z Fold 7 and its Ultra brethren meanwhile, would there be a Tab S10 special edition with Snapdragon X Elite or 8 gen 3?😂
Samsung product proposition team need to know what they're doing 😅 S Pen support is the unique feature of their product lineup, how could they remove it from the latest fold device yet they still couldn't compete with their competitors in terms of the battery capacity, charging speed, better camera hardware and slimmer profile? This fold 6 special edition just a piece of garbage that loses out in every single aspects... they could've been retaining the thickness of the phone and put in larger battery/ put in built-in S pen, instead of blindly reducing the thickness of the phone
This is exactly what the fold 6 should have been. Also, the fact they can't even release it globally is straight awful for the market. We really need some of the Chinese brands to find their way to the United States. Sorry for the rant, but I'm getting to the point where I would prefer to switch back to apple if they make a foldable like this.

The thing is getting rid of the S pen makes sense because the phone is super slim but they should have at least upgraded the battery from 4400 to 4600/4700 mah cause the display got more bigger in size and it's ganna consume more battery life
makes no sense... They force spen on S series but dont get you an option on this? I suppose it isn't global so it does not really matter. But come on 90+ % of users of S22-24 do not use the spen on weekly basis. And when they do it's for stuff they can do without it as well. Like pdfs and remote taking of photos. GIving us a bigger camera and or battery instead of the spen on S series makes A LOT more sense than not including it on a fold where people may actually buy it for the Spen support.
For Fold 7 next yr, I expect building on SE and put improved, 5,000mah battery, gorilla victus antiglare like S24U and UDC ...UDC may be too much to ask so soon. Either way, i'm trading in my fold 6 for fold 7 or ultra
When this phone makes it to the United States I will be buying it, I've been waiting for them to make that outer screen bigger, I guess me waiting paid off
I like Samsung, but these Shenanigans need to STOP... No Spen support on a Phablet! REALLY. Idc about the punch hole camera, they can remove it if they want. Give us a damn phone with internal Spen. The thing is getting rid of the S pen makes sense because the phone is super slim but they should have at least upgraded the battery from 4400 to 4600/4700 mah cause the display got more bigger in size and it's ganna consume more battery life
I love samsung but if they would make it where there was a slot for the s pen, that would be a killer device
this is a waste off money to buy.. not upgrade.. just waste
makes no sense...
Samsung seems like they dont want to dominate the Foldable market in the future ...
Why do samsung continue to screw us around?? Ultra should have the best specs all around, no compromise!!!!
We just want a good camera and faster charging.
No S-Pen? I'll wait.
For Fold 7 next yr, I expect building on SE and put improved, 5,000mah battery, gorilla victus antiglare like S24U and UDC ...UDC may be too much to ask so soon. Either way, i'm trading in my fold 6 for fold 7 or ultra
When this phone makes it to the United States I will be buying it, I've been waiting for them to make that outer screen bigger, I guess me waiting paid off
Personal I don't care about the S-Pen, but the battery size is a huge letdown.
Battery size and charge time are the weak points, ir Blaster is missing.
They need to fix that
I like Samsung, but these Shenanigans need to STOP... No Spen support on a Phablet! REALLY. Idc about the punch hole camera, they can remove it if they want. Give us a damn phone with internal Spen. They are playing and everyone else is catching up. That's how companies are losing customers. Look at HTC, SONY, KODAK. All thought they were invincible
I loved it up until he said no s pen support. That sucks!!!
If I knew there was a Ultra on the way I wouldn't preorder this one💀
Spen is not useful on the fold 6 anyway..unless it comes with a built in slot
