Thanks a lot for making a thorough video, this helped me out. Turned out I didn't have any bad glow plugs, I just needed to press all the terminals in my glow plug module connectors together with a small flat blade screwdriver so that they’d make good contact with the controller and both of my codes went away!
Yeah a lot of times the clips end up breaking and eventually vibrate out of the controller. I’ve worked on a lot that have been zip tied to keep from backing out.
Wow, thank you for showing how to test out the glow plugs and the harness. My 06 f250 has the same problem on #8. Very informative! I subscribed and liked.
Thank you… not sure if you saw my update in the description but the #8 code came back so I replaced the whole glow plug control module and that took care of the #8 code I guess it’s a common problem on the 6.0.
Nice vid. I have an '01 7.3 with a GPCM (CA truck with the same connection points ) and I was getting 3 GP faults, one on one side and two on the other side. I replaced the GPCM since that seems to be a very common solution, but now the three individual GP codes are gone but I'm getting an intermittent P0683 code (GPCM to PCM Communication Circuit). Comes and goes like a faulty electrical connection(?) Any ideas? I have to get this corrected due to needing to pass smog for registration next month. Appreciate any help. Thx.
I just want to give you a shout out. I got an 04 super duty F350 with a 60 exact same cylinder glow plug was open. I wanted to know what I was going to need to be doing to figure it out just like I said, I just watch this video. What are you give you a shout out and say thank you I’ll be looking at more of your stuff so I can keep up the maintenance on this truck so I’ll see you in the next one.
No check engine light I could just tell it wasn’t started as normal. Not sure if you saw my note in the description I ended up replacing the glow plug control module and that solving my issue.
tested at the glow plug or 4-pin connector or Black or green connector? My Brand new GP's tested .4 ohms, I think as they age, the resistance goes higher, due to thermal breakdown
Your right there with Ron The Diesel Machanic,,, Great job . SE Texas, See Ya
Thanks 👍

Thanks for the video. I have 2,6,8 showing up on my '05 as well. Knowing where to get the readings and values is much appreciated.
Thanks for the information and very nice video subscribed.........................
You can use a nickel for the diameter to make a removal tool.

green is odd u said even
Yeah your right it was already said and done and I couldn’t edit it out of the video.
And number 8 doesn’t show any numbers
did you say the black connector is an ODD number cylinder but starting with cylinder 2-4-6-8? Do you mean 1-3-5-7 instead?
Yes that is what I meant. Sorry about that I think someone else corrected me on that.
I have a question
Sure go ahead
On my truck shows .4 is that bad glow plugs? I need help
