Montreal was 100% clear and totality right from my own balcony.
Thank God. I thought I missed the moment. It just didn't happen😂😂
I was excited and nothing happened 😂
@@Dino097uikr !
I got about a 98% eclipse from my balcony. Worth it
The weather people got the cloud cover wrong in so many places, Montreal included, you guys were supposed to be overcast. Glad you got to see the real deal bud.
This is the safest way to view the eclipse. Thank you 😀
I was not too far from this camera with my lil brother, we helped set a world record that morning as well. It was on the niagara ferry, we had 320 people dress up in sun costumes! Fantastic day, the town and community really outdid themselves, kudos to them!
The skies in Hamilton parted just in nick of time...to catch virtually the entire hour and a half spectacle!......
Dude same with Mississauga it was crazy
It's pretty cool how dark everything got and I love everyone's shared excitement!
I was lucky to be able to watch under a cloudless sky in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. Absolutely fantastic!
Looks like niagra the place everybody was told to go was the most cloudy 😅
But the clouds broke at the perfect moment. And then with the clouds it seemed darker too.
No it didnt . It broke in hamilton in perfect moment but not at niagara falls
@@PeyoteCowboy i was in thorold just outside N.F. the clouds did in fact break at the perfect time to see the end of the total eclipse and the diamond ring effect.
I was in Niagara-on-the-lake, heavy cloud cover the whole time, didn't see a thing unfortunately, except the whole place getting dark for a few mins, too bad for us.
@@PeyoteCowboy Yup...came from Toronto to Hamilton. Was upset with the cloud cover but then the skies became more clear and it was worth the drive.
That solar flare at the bottom edge was awesome. It was a lot brighter to the naked eye than this video shows it.
Basically the camera has something similar to the dark glasses people wore in order to view it without damaging anything.
@@BlinkCatBee You didn't need the dark glasses once it went to 100%. The Solar flare was so vibrant and bright compared to the rest of the Corona that was visible.
@@markc2643 yes but the total eclipse isn't the only thing shown.
Were you in Niagara Falls New York or Niagara Falls Ontario? Did it show in both places? (It didn't show 6km away - cloud stayed blccking. totality.)
@@susanbahry3539 I was in Ashtebula Ohio. We had thin wispy clouds that didn't interfere with viewing during totality.
Too much people, pulled into a nice quiet park not too far and was a lot more peaceful and you could hear the birds going nuts
i don't know why people are cheering. it's not a performance lmaoo

@@Saber_Nico Sheep and parrots. If this wasn't so hyped up in the news and on social media, they wouldn't have given it a second thought.
Guessing most went for the ability to post a video or selfie of the moment, similar to people taking photos of their food.
@@CanadianEhHolewho shat in your cereal buddy
I was in Burlington and still saw it 100%. Whats crazy is that when I got there at around 1pm, it was cloudy. However, after the eclipse started, it started clearing and there was no clouds in the way of the sun right when the moon fully went infront of the sun.
I drove 20 minutes to Leamington, south of Windsor Ontario, it was very clear to the point I saw the suns Aurora, I’ll never forget this moment
There were no clouds at all in Alymer, drove from Owen Sound and it was worth the drive. Now my life's complete.
The fact the moon and the sun appear to have a perfect fit is mind boggling.
In Hamilton at Mohawk Stoney creek you could hear a coin drop from 100m away. Everyone was in awe.
What do flat earthers make of this eclipse ?
Just the big light they hang in the sky getting turned on and off :D, standard maintenance lol
"that mf'er is NOT real!"
The lesser light comes in contact with the greater light and then Totality happens. This also shows the size of the sun and moon are equal just as said in the book of enoch
I was thinking the same thing but they can't really explain a lot of things to be honest.
@AugustusBerg😂😂😂
Port stanley was magical
Happy to see people could at least see some of the sun through the clouds.
Brantford was 100% clear
Port Stanley was waaaaay better. Clear blue skies, warm, beautiful beach. Should’ve been there
I was there too it was magical
I went with my friend, we came from London to get the full experience and it payed off spectacularly
@@ekerslithery5955 changed our plans last minute to port Stanley. Great decision 👏
@MrChancebandit I feel bad for everyone who went to Niagara falls, put up with all that noise just for a dark and cloudy sky instead of what we got
@ekerslithery5955 I don't feel bad for anyone who trusts the weatherman forecast. Your phone has up-to-date weather info ....change accordingly like we did and it payed off . Gotta be flexible in life
I was at work taking a dump. Totally missed it
amazing
It wasn't worth shitting your pants. You made the right choice homes
@@keaters123This kind of eclipse happens once every 125 years... 😅
@@aliceDarts and?
@@aliceDarts Yeah , well life's a zero sum game. Maybe it was cloudy where this guy was ? Sure the eclipse is once in a lifetime , but shitting yourself at work is horrifying and can haunt you for life. I still think this guy made the right call.
Had clear blue skies farther east.
I love how people are cheering for something that has been happening for billions of years. It makes me happy, and that looks pretty cool.
0:10 are they cheering because of the eclipse or because they actually managed to see something through the thick clouds for a split second 🤣🤣🤣
WOW ... definitely makes me want to sing, "Total Eclipse of the Sun"!!! This is the most stunning eclipse I have seen in my lifetime!
I stayed near Hamilton and it cleared just in time for the eclipse. It basically cleared 20 minutes before the full eclipse. What incredible timing.
Opposite for me in Toronto. Heavy clouds set in for the 2hr eclipse window, then subside right after the show was over. Such bs 😂.
@@blackbeltjones2903 Sorry buddy.
Didnt move a single foot from our deck.. kingston was pretty clear
Outside of Buffalo and had cloud cover the entire time. Stunk...was still cool to watch it get dark at least.
Cornwall was the place to be… it was clear and beautiful but also ominous… it went dark and then the sun glowed behind the moon and it look bigger than it actually was because of the shadow the moon projected. It was amazing.
✈Bon voyage! ✈ I hope the Sakuras are still in full bloom in Japan.🌸🌸🌸
Wow thanks for sharing that was absolutely fanfriggingtastic 😊
So beautiful
My area had so much quieter people. The few moments before the eclipse it was quiet and during it it was also quiet. It only got louder when it was about finishing up.
00:15 soo cool😎
It was 99,8% here in Toronto 😭😭😭 Keep in mind that even the difference between 99,8% and totality is COLOSSAL
I'm so jealous of all the people that got to see it!!
I'm just waiting for people to start blaming Trudeau for this.
It happened and we're all still alive
AMAZING!!!
Lol at the people yelling like it's an amusement park ride
Did you see it?
People cheering was pretty cringe.
@@yukonstriker1703for enjoying a once in a lifetime event? Damn bro you sound left out LOL cry
@@anon8633 Except it isn't. Parts of the US had another moment in 2017 for it. Then back again in 1970s. That's easily 3 in 1 lifetime and that's simply if you're living near the US and unwilling to travel very far to see one.
This isn't that insanely rare. The issue is most of the earth's surface is water so a lot of times where the perfect viewing spot is is somewhere in the middle of an ocean. So you happening to live exactly at the perfect spot, yes, that's rare. Like 1 in 215 years kind of rare. But so what, you're not glued to 1 single spot for such a "once in a lifetime event", are you? If it's so special, it's certainly worth travelling a few hours for.
This is such a non-highlight that most people in North America had a chance, if they really wanted, to travel some few hours to see it in 2017, if it really is a once in a lifetime event. But it's not and they didn't back then. What changed this time was the peak area was over key populated areas so it was easy to market. Every hotel in Niagara Falls was booked. Guessing the same with Montreal. They sold a ton of 1-time use glasses. Ton of souvenirs. For 2 months now Amazon has had the glasses on their homepage for people to splurge on. A small town in Texas went bonkers with every type of souvenir branded with "Solar Eclipse 2024," because gotta go big in Texas.
It's a cool event, it's fascinating. It was way overhyped, like everything that's popularized on social media, especially TikTok.
@@CanadianEhHole dang man just live in the moment. Why do you guys got to criticize it's just people having fun I think the '70s was definitely a long time ago in 2017 was not like this at all.
The clouds frustrated my view in welland
Meanwhile me and my co-workers under the overcast playing Where's Waldo with the SUN
The eclipse in Niagara, closer to center of the path of totality, was only seen for an instant but was more of a completely total eclipse hence the solar flare. The Hamilton eclipse though visible for far longer was slightly less total (brighter ring) and the landscape was also therefore not as dark.
Can't believe I flew in from California for this
Haha sheep😂
Refund your hotel bill.😅
Did they charge you 1000 dollars a night too ?
For cloudy skies 😭
I was in Saguenay, watching from my deck from 2:pm til 4:pm, expecting great things ....... nothing. It got a little dimmer & a little cooler for 15-20 minutes then back to warm & sunny. If you were driving in your car at that time you wouldn't have noticed any change at all.
Le Saguenay était pas dans la bonne zone. Il fallait être plus au sud, et parfois seulement quelques kilomètres fait la différence entre une éclipse totale et partielle
Par exemple, à Montréal elle était totale alors qu'à Laval elle ne l'était pas
Cobourg was stuck with dense cloud cover. Poor viewing. 😕
0:14 was this at Niagara falls or somewhere else? I'm seeing conflicting information. In fact it seems 99% of all the other videos of Niagara falls do not show totality. Truly hope people did get to see this and it was not a complete wash for totality.
I was there, it appeared as shown ... only for a few seconds.
Amazing
Nice!❤
Anyone else feeling zesty with magic now after the eclipse?!
This was a fucking once in a life time opportunity.
It was an exceptional experience with the whole university in McMaster...
Was great from Smithville and less cloudy.
Seems a bit too busy over there I am glad that where I went the people where more in awe of the event than cheering for it. It was spectacular. Esp when everything got dark and there was the outline of the sun.
Wouder how many ppl went blind today? Sure glad they canceled school and i had to take the day off work to stay at home with my ittle guy. Do i get a rebate check for missing a day of pay that i desperately needed
In the 70s we were all herded into the windowless gym and allowed to watch it on TV. Schools did not need to close, they could've released kids earlier or held them for an extra half hour.
Cry
School was closed where I live, I took the opportunity to teach my kids about it.
Any thing for the teachers to not actually teach . The amount of snow days fog days pd days and list goes 0n and on and on and then 3 months off in the summer. Teachers are lame

The eclipse was trash here in Nova Scotia. Here my daugter and I was expecting to see a total solar eclipse and the sky was clear, not a cloud anywhere to be seen. In the end we never got to see a total solar eclipse like we thought we were gonna see but only a partial solar eclipce. We were both so disappointed.
that is because the total path of totality was north of Fredricton in NB, Nova-Scotia was never in the path of totality.
you should have looked it up a head of time… you only a few hours drive from some of the best views available if you had looked it up
*laughs in Port Stanley*
the eclipse drove down to niagara falls parked the car brought my viewing glasses cost me almost $400 for 3 minutes should have watched it on tv for nothing
Glad you got to see it. Perth-Andover, New Brunswick was crystal clear sky and we got to even see Jupiter and Venus, also. Stellar!
Was that the star bottom right of the eclipse ?
I didn't get to see it😢
So obviously i didnt want the eclipse to last for ever so i flew up in to the sky and used my super human strength to push the moon out of the way and brought back the beautiful light of the sun
I was here
Everyone flipping shit because the sun is playing hide & seek
I'm so disappointed, no werewolves or zombies to be seen!
I guess nobody has seen Niagara Falls on a moonless night…?
and the book was born
Did not happen in winnipeg it was light the hole time
Wow, that looks so cool, I’ve never seen a solar eclipse in person or with the glasses:(
Typical Ontario. State of Emergency called expecting 1 million and a little over 200,000 show up.
Typical cynic.
Better to be safe than sorry.

I knew it, this was too good to be true
so much for declaration of a state of emergency,
Some people thought it was great.
Port Stanly was the place to be, I went with my friend and it blew our minds
Yeahhhhhh....?😂
This is not new. The book of Enoch laid it out very clear. Every so offer the moon enters the portal of the sun and then redrawn from its portal. For those who are wondering, the moon gets all its lights from the great illuminary, the sun. I won't break my neck to see this!
many ancient civilizations and texts had a good sense of tracking phenomena like this, largely because it was important to, or a result of, being agricultural societies
if you watched this you are cursed. it opens a portal and now dark entities will haunt you.

I was already cursed, so now I'm clean

It's a once in a lifetime thang
Another guy who feels left out when other people have fun without them
It was epic. Not everyday you get too see it . Step outside tour useless life and try something different for once
@@CaddRome No it isn't. The US witnessed another one in 2017.
This happens every few years. The issue is most of the time the perfect spot is somewhere you don't live or somewhere in the middle of an ocean as the Earth's surface is mostly water. But plenty of other places have had the chance to see it within your lifetime. This was just convenient for certain places, like southern Ontario, as they were close to the perfect area. Hence why our news is littered with this coverage right now, since it gets them views.
I can assure you no one in Europe cared at all about this eclipse? Why? In 2026, the Spain/France border will be in alignment for the perfect spot for another total solar eclipse. In 2028, Australia will have an opportunity to view one perfectly.
