    Those round footstones at the creek crossing have been there since my first hike on the trail in the 60's.
    Glad to see the recovery underway from the fire. The area won't return to its pre-fire grandeur in my lifetime.
    Still can't fathom the mind of the person who set off fireworks near Punch Bowl falls during high fire season just to hear the echo.

    Western Oregon is a beautiful area that never seems to run out of awesome views and reaches a different place inside the sole of those from the Desert Southwest.

    I've hiked to tunnel falls 5 or 6 times usually on my way to timberline lodge or wahtum lake. It truly is one of the most beautiful six miles of hiking in the United States if you are a fan of waterfalls.

    Great video, as always. This is out my back door, so I suppose I'm guilty of takeing it all for granted; and probably why I'm so enthralled by your diametrically opposed desert, canyon, slick rock videos.

    I did this trail a few years ago and it was amazing. However it was way too long for me so thats what made it a 4 stars instead of 5. The punch bowl falls, the tunnel and twister falls were all beautiful plus all the bridges we crossed.

  • @mikeolson8326

    Just 500 yards or so further and just around the corner from Tunnel is Twister falls. Definitely worth the extra 10 minutes or so to get a unique look at it.

    I wish you folks had been able to hike this before the fire in I think 2017. Eagle Creek was one of the most heavily damaged areas and was closed for probably 2 or more years. Thanks for taking me there again! The damage is devastating for me to see, but yes it's still beautiful .

    Fifteen years since I did the same hike and I could pinpoint (and was sent whirling back in time for a moment) nearly every part of the trail that you videoed, even the one looking up at the hill that loomed over the trail. The trees up there were alive when I was up there but the location was easy to recognize. The trail past the first bridge looked even narrower than I remember it. I remembered the narrowness before the first bridge 'cuz I hiked that part a couple times and the narrowness and the deadly drop are burned into my brain. Nice hike. Nice video. Glad you finally got to see it. I wanted to comment that the trail following the creek ABOVE Multnomah Falls is pretty cool too but looks like you may have already done that. I'll have to check out your video of that area. I want so bad to jump into tour guide mode (I'm not a tour guide) and give you some suggestions about the coast but you know how to research areas and I'm confident you'll find some good locations there to explore and experience.

    • @JerryArizona
      @JerryArizona  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We did more touristy hikes on this trip. It's hard logistically to look up hidden gems and plan more rugged trips when we're doing so many so far from home. Plus, it was nice to take it easy for a change. But we'll be back.
