    Be a farmer they said. It is easy they said. Work for a tire company they said. You get to work outdoors and it is easy they said. Rain.....Cold....Untimely expensive repairs. I love the way you take it all in stride and just move on. Thanks for sharing. I have seen that tire guy on here before and he always impresses me. Makes that look so dang easy.

    Not used to the 8220 seeing it with out the tank in front of it…. Every time I’ve used it to merge hay that tank was there… and I’ve merged a lot of hay with it. Great video… keep on keeping on

    Thank you for showing one breakdown. That tries a person's patience for sure. It is a pile of work to keep a farm productive. I noticed the equipment that is used to deal with the large tires. That costs a lot. Money does not grow on trees. 😊

    WOW, that young certainly knows tires! I was amazed to see one man repair over one hundred truck tires in the evening to have W.D. Winkelman's trucks read to work the next day back in 1972 My first year in the dump trucking business. And I thought I could change tires pretty good! Not even close.

    Andy you can tip the head back so the head is somewhat flatter and closer to the ears so if they bounce there is less chance of them bouncing out the front of the head, if your ear height is consistent I would run the head just low enough to clip the ears, used to work for me anyway.

    That was easy. We had a flat one time on a similar machine. It was a wet year and the jacks had to be supported on three rail ties that we had to dig in under the machine. With an empty hopper the three ties still went down a fair ways in the Red river gumbo.

    Tire pressure sensors are pretty mature technology. I'm surprised that there isn't a system out there that has the sensors externally mounted on expensive agricultural and construction tires. TPMS wouldn't have done anything for the shoulder/sidewall injury but it would have prevented the black snow in that tire and would have saved that tire casing. The video shows just how short the time is between a tire repair and a junk tire, even with a good operator.

    • @bugbomb8048
      @bugbomb8048 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m betting olde MacDonald here either disabled the TPMS or just ignored it all together… you know the same way he was ignoring 10 to 15% of the corn hitting the ground and blaming the corn head….. I just don’t remember anywhere in John Melloncamp’s song where he referenced grandpa of making one after another bad decision that may have lead to the farm being auctioned off! But olde Hoss sure did get an ear full for pounding the signs in the corn covered ground….

    • @farmerbill6855
      @farmerbill6855 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Okay genius, you come up with a solution for dry corn butt shelling in the corn head and do get back to us. We'll ALL be waiting. As for tire pressure sensors, if you knew anything, you know his combine doesn't have them and never had them. You and Bloomberg must be the most successful farmers in history, as smart as you are.

    Just wondering if much of the corn that gets missed and dropped will sprout the following year? or maybe the winter cold will kill off anything that germinates, our winters rarely get below -5°C or 23°F and I have seen the odd stork popping up but we are on a very small scale compared to you, just enough for the chickens and the odd hog now and again.
