as a dj I appreciate the thought of producers making outros and intros to make my life easier. But I would prefer something that isn't. Actually the more challenging the intro and outro the better. I would even mix it live on video and send it back to you. Thank you for the great instructional video. Keep it up. Us dj's need guys like you

Thanks for the video and the direction, Seamless.
As a novice producer, it's difficult to wrap my head around the aspects of composition that are involved in the production process while in the moment and actively making a track. This breakdown of the typical EDM format really helped me improve my work flow and overall approach to my music. I really can't thank you enough.
That being said, I deeply appreciate your work and your effort in teaching up-and-coming nobodies like myself the fundamentals of a well-rounded artist. My only hope is that those noble efforts are properly rewarded, respected, appreciated and compensated for by all who benefit from them.
    Peace.

thanks,...it was very clear and logic.
easy to understand and a good orginized direction
like the intro and outro parts doesnt matter too much, and can do almost everything you want.
also how you have the same structure for the drops and breaks repeating but just making small changes of those.
and also the parts you can go crazy with.

I think the R stands for Riddler. 14:57 before we hear a note. . . Until then the Riddler be all like: Sometimes you can do it this way but on Sundays if it's sunny and if I'd had a nice brunch I might do it that way but not last week because I had an appointment at babblers anonymous but anyways the second break is where rules go to die as I've been quoted as saying, well actually I've never been quoted as such but I've said it, well actually I thought it, well actually I just came up with it but anyway that's a thing that you can do but there is always the need to be less than specific and concurrently consistent in segwaying, a monologue of my trajectory traversing trapping tangents about my talents. Lol. Still, I very much enjoyed it all. Top dude, top vid, top production.

The biggest thing I have trouble with is expanding upon an idea. I'll get a four to eight measure loop that sounds pretty good and... that's it. I don't have much theory training beyond being able to read sheet music and knowing scales/keys, but would you have any advice for someone who has trouble expanding upon an idea?

The worse thing to do, in my opinion, and this is something that many producers do, is start from drums and spending a ridiculous amount of time on making drums sound good (or any instrument). This sucks out any ideas or inspiration (sometimes I simply forget my original idea because of time spent on altering the sound).
I divide my production in stages and only focus on one at a time. That is to say, there are 3 stages for me: sound-design (making sounds of course), production (composing, arranging and editing), and then finally the mix-down (making sonic/timbre changes and possibly arrangement alterations too). I don't do two things at once. Because one thing distracts me from the other. If I have an idea, I want to be able to grab a sound and then get that idea down and repeat this process without coming across any distractions or obstacles. If I stop to start focusing on engineering and being fiddly with frequencies and such, the motivation and ideas simply dissipate.

Thank you so much mang I have followed you from how to bass 1. Everything I have learned is from you. from automation to fm synthesis all I use is sytrus and harmor now for bass. I was lost in how to arrange my songs now I got the idea. QUESTION. What is the keyboard short cut for note slide in piano roll. I have tryed every combination of keys. I see you use all sorts of short cuts but I just cant find that one.

    • @user-bg3bb8kh5h
      @user-bg3bb8kh5h 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Shortcut for Slide is "S" while in the Piano roll window :), also you can press F1 while viewing a piano roll window and it will open up the designated section of the Help Manual, wich has all the shorcuts for the piano roll in a list.

My intros are nearly always Pad, melodic Percussions, building up lead (not Same instrument like in the dance parte/ bass part) until 1min. Than bass part. Than brake: strings always strings, violins/ cello. With a mod. Version of the. Melodie. Than build up #2 than bass part ( not exactly the same as first). At least strings outro~1 min. Actually it sounds nice :)
I also often use strings as a drop. Thats also amazing.

but feel so frustrated when trying to follow along with all this 16 bar this a couple bars for this drop ughh, I'm really trying
to better my skills at self producing music so learning this is very helpful. Hi SeamlessR, do you know why in fl studio when I have sounds coming from a channel and then when I add another channel, the original one sounds softer? Another instance is when I tested having a channel going from the left to the right channel and another channel playing a mono kick beat, and even though the kick is supposed to be central, it seems to go the opposite way of the other channel, and it goes a little right to a little left. Is there a way in mixing to fix this? Sorry if I sounds very complicated.. Thanks!

Sometimes dragging the actual song into the sequencer and matching the tempo helps me wrap my head around weird arrangements that sound good. There's usually patterns in there that you don't notice but can subconsciously feel when just listening to the song.

Could you possibly do this for terminologies? Just all the basic ones u can find? Like, "A Bar is ____". "Compression is when you _______." "Threshold is_______." And with each of these could you maybe do a brief explanation of the meaning and what it does. I've had this problem forever and I'm asking you to do this because whenever I ask friends that I think could help me with production for tips or feedback on a song prior to release, they hit me with one of these terms and I make a fool of myself. A video explaining terminology would be awesome!

Hey if anyone out there can answer this question for me I would greatly appreciate it! I have an FL Studio 11 download file and my version of Windows XP can't find a way to open it. I thought of a solution to that but I don't know if it will work or not; I was thinking of downloading the demo off of the imageline server so that the download wizard could be on my computer. Then I could send the download file to the wizard to download the full version program. So yeah I'm just wondering if that will work and again I would greatly appreciate anyone's help with this.
    Thanks!
