monte1 b. : I don’t know about “easily,” but there would have been debates over the lower top-10 and top-15, with Penny, Kobe, Dr. J, Bird, Oscar, A.I., Isiah, Stockton, and West.
He definitely would have been in that top-15 conversation.
It has gotten to the point where we can’t realistically talk top-10 anymore; because too many players could belong.

If you want to, follow me at www.twitch.tv/mikekorzemba because I want to talk basketball with you guys!
Also, the 7 players on this list were in no particular order. And, here are 3 honorable mentions and why I left them off.
Brandon Roy- I feel like he was going to stay around an all star level and would not have been a superstar. Still a great player, but not an all time great.
Jay Williams- Didn’t exactly light the world on fire during his rookie season (averaged 9.5 ppg) when he was already 21. Obviously players can improve tremendously from their rookie season onward, but I couldn’t justify him making the list of 7.
Yao Ming- The hardest cut. My reasoning behind this decision is that Yao played 7 full seasons in the NBA. During that time, he was never considered a top 5 player (never first team all NBA). We already know what his full potential was.

Maurice Stokes should be on this list. He was a 3 time All Star, 3 time All NBA, 1 time rebounds leader, a defensive force, a tough rebounder, a really good passer. He was just heading into the prime of his career...when an injury that at first seem mild resulted in him being completely paralyzed. It took many years of physical therapy to be able to barely talk and walk very slowly with help. He was poised to be regarded as an all time great of his time, one of the most promising players in the league, and then it was all just...gone. And while he has been honoured in the Hall of Fame and been recognized for what he was able to do in his short career of just three years, we will never know what could have been.

BUT ALSO.....WHERE'S STANLEY ROBERTS ?!😒HE WAS THE DOMINANT BIG MAN FROM LSU WHO WAS SAID BY MANY TO BE BETTER THAN HIS TEAMMATE SHAQ!😃HE WAS JUST AS BIG, JUST AS POWERFUL & MORE VERSATILE. YEAH. I WISH HE WOULD HAVE MADE IT A TOP TEN CUZ STANLEY ROBERTS & DERRICK ROSE DEFINATELY BELONG ON THIS LIST. AND DON'T FORGET JUWAN HOWARD. & I KNOW IT CAN ONLY BE TEN IN A TOP TEN BUT U CAN PUT TRACY MCGRADY, CHICAGO BULLS JASON WILLIAMS, EVEN "WHITE CHOCOLATE" JASON WILLIAMS. HE HAD A SHORT CAREER CUZ OF HIS KNEES. AND MAYBE "BIG DOG" GLENN ROBINSON. IF HE WERE TO MAKE A TOP 20 THOSE R THE PLAYERS THAT I WOULD COME TO MIND THAT DIDN'T MAKE THIS LIST. I WOULD HAVE TO THINK A LITTLE BIT MORE TO DECIDE WHAT ORDER THEY SHOULD BE IN. OR IF IT'S JUST A TOP TEN THEN PUT 3 MORE OF THEM IN AND THEN MAKE THE REST HONORABLE MENTIONS.😀

The one that kinda ticks me off is Derrick Coleman. If he gave a shit throughout his career he'd probably be viewed as the best PF of all time. He could score inside and out, rebound, defend, and was such an amazing passer. Unfortunately, by the time he started playing really hard in his second stint in Philly he was old, overweight, injured and slow.

Bill Walton has a surprisingly short career for a Hall of Fame inductee, so it's a legitimate argument that Grant Hill had a more successful career. Walton finished his career playing only 468 career games, 6,215 career points, 4,923 rebounds, and two All-Star selections. Granted, for the period discussed in the video, Walton was more successful than HIll ever was, but those 1.75 seasons basically is the entirety of Walton's Hall of Fame NBA credentials. Hill was a seven-time All-Star and five-time All-NBA selection. So, it's not so cut and dry that Walton was more successful. He had the higher peak, but far less longevity, and unbelievably had worse luck with health than Grant Hill who almost died on the operating table.
