Thank you for sharing your adventure! With a Roku device we watch your videos on our 55" 4K TV. Your videos are sharp with wonderful vivid color. Cheers!
Fabulous. I guess its true what they say about being willing to trip in June with the black flies if you want to see wildlife! We've seen moose on Misty and Tim River but never so many at once! Amazing.
I was waiting for that leach to grab hold and you to start screaming lol. What great moose encounters, lmao, that moose is like , you shall not pass. You got some great shots of the wildlife. Thanks for taking us along.
that moose was in to some good salad and wasnt about to give it up! Ha, gonna make a break for it only to have the muck turn against you lol. What an awesome shot, video of a life time
Loved it. Took my 3 boys for their first time a few months after you did this. Took them to Macintosh lake so that part of the vid brought back the good memories. Cant wait to get back this year!
That's awesome! You are giving you boys memories that they will cherish for the rest of their lives. Hope you have another great canoe season with them! Cheers!
Thanks I’m glad you enjoyed! I have a long bucket list of places I want to explore, and the wilderness areas in and around your part of the world are definitely in there!
Kev, thanks so much for sharing your adventure with us. You are most definitely a Moose Whisperer! I appreciate the serenity and quietude of your trip. I felt as if I were with you and Sigurd Olson at the same time.
Absolutely gorgeous, loved it.... just got back from Algonquin myself but front country camping, I've never been back country and got to live vicariously through you... subscribed.
Awesome video moose whisperer and congrats on all those super close encounters! That first encounter my heart beat would have been like 250 given the shallow water and chance of the canoe getting stuck mere feet away from the bull moose.
Great solo portage Kev! The wildlife and morning sunrises have to be my favourite part about Algonquin! Can't wait to get back out there and try my way at a short beginner portage!
Just found your channel and I’m really enjoying it! I’m curious why you don’t bring more food 😂. I think your interaction with the wildlife is amazing and it’s what made me hit the subscribe button! The wolf howling that you’ve managed to capture in this video and others is captivating and I really appreciate it. Thank you for sharing Kev!!!
Glad you enjoyed Brenda! Some trips I just choose to rough it a bit more than others lol. I’ll be bringing a few more comforts with me this upcoming season. I like to change things up. Thanks for the sub!
I'm a big fan of your videos, lots of moose, too bad was a fire ban Also that bird was probably a bald eagle, they don't turn white until age 4-5 years. Keep up the journeys.
I really don't think I could ever do an early trip with blackflies and skeeters that bad ! Just the sound of them is enough to drive one crazy lol seeing those moose brought me back to the petawawa River and coming around a corner and almost running right into a huge bull lol
You had an awesome trip. The best I can tell is that you were about 7 days ahead of Luke and I on the Tim River. We started at Access point #2 and went down the entire river. Our path crossed with yours at the Shaw Lake portage since we also ended at Canoe Lake (we positioned a second vehicle there). I really enjoyed seeing your video of the trip and appreciate you sharing it. It's motivated me to get back to editing my footage so I too can share what Luke and I saw!
I watched the preview video of your trip. The water levels looked very low on the section of the Tim that you travelled on! Looking forward to watching the full trip! Cheers
Hello Kev, greetings from Atlantic Canada. First time visit, really neat encounter with that Moose at the beginning…. That woulda not had me passing or following that close. I have seen Moose attack at close range…. I think i held my breath till you got well out of the way. Excellent adventure new friend. I really enjoyed this video. 5* HD Video and 💯 % crazy on your part to come so close & so many encounters with wildlife. Wow, crazy wild moose chase on the river. Excellent adventure. Cooking with Kev 👌 Take care young friend. Hope you might return the visit. I shall return. Maybe we could 🛎 each otter haha👋👌💥😇🇨🇦 LilliStJohn
Hey Lilli! Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed. Yeah that first moose encounter was definitely a bit of a tense situation lol. You live in a beautiful part of the country - and I hope that I can visit the east coast again soon! Take care!
Kévin, j'ai adoré te suivre dans cette sortie. Le calme qui règne dans ton expédition est vraiment apaisant. J'ai pris un peu de retard dans ma matinée de travail mais ce slow mobile en valait le coup.
Good stuff man! Great moose encounter. I had a very close encounter in a tight spot with a bull moose a couple weeks back... no drama though, despite it being in the rut. I've never seen aggressive moose behaviour while in Algonquin but I have seen it elsewhere. I guess when humans aren't chasing them with thundersticks all day, they're calmer :-) Nice camera work. Subbed. Looking forward to more trip vids from you. Just going to check out your longer solo now.
I really appreciate it Jason! I’m a big fan of your videos! I’ve watched them all several times. Glad to hear that your close call went without incident. Hope you have a new trip video in the works for us! Cheers 🍻
Enjoyed watching your video. Brings back some good memories of Paddling there. Prob heading back up this summer. What was your exact route? Canoe Lake start and finish?
Glad you enjoyed. My routes was as follows: Canoe > McIntosh > up the Tim River to Shippagew > through Big Trout to Otter Slide Lake > back to Canoe Lake.
Fabulous photography, love your traveling clip compositions as they really capture the scenery. What are you using for camera equipment? I must say, that is some of the best moose footage I have seen anyone capture, outstanding! Also love your choice of snacks, M&M's are top on my list too although I prefer plain ones. Thanks for putting this together, keep up the good work.
Yes I apologize for the sound Paul. I was using a brand new microphone and found out that I did not have the sensitivity settings properly adjusted for many of the shots. I should have it sorted out for the next one! Cheers
Hey Michael! That was between little doe lake and Tom Thompson lake. The route began at canoe lake, and my first night was spent on McIntosh lake. It’s a beautiful route. Enjoy your trip!
@@kevinthewild thanks Kevin! I wanted to include hailstorm creek as part of the itinerary. You think I can do both? Doesn’t seem too far from Opeongo. I’d love to ask you some questions about your trips I just watched all your videos.
That would be extremely difficult on a 3-day trip. You would also need to enter the park at Canoe lake and Exit on Opeongo. Until you have several canoe trips under your belt, I advise not to try to cover too much distance in one day. Weather such as high winds can make travel very difficult. I would say aim for 20km per at most. I took 6 of my friends out on their first canoe trip in algonquin a few years ago. They found the route - 80 km over 4 days - very difficult.
I love how relaxed you are on these trips. The fact that you take your time to enjoy whats around you is another reason I like watching
Thank you 😊

Glad to hear Dan! I will keep trying to improve the quality of my future videos. Cheers!
beautiful video. thank you. love all the wildlife and the calmness.... and no ads to disturb the adventure, yay!!!
Glad you enjoyed Sophia! Thank you 😊
Fabulous. I guess its true what they say about being willing to trip in June with the black flies if you want to see wildlife! We've seen moose on Misty and Tim River but never so many at once! Amazing.
Thanks Vicki! Yup, June is definitely prime moose spotting season.
Yes, indeed, an amazing trip and so beautifully captured. Thanks. Looking forward to your next adventure.
Thank you for the kind words Pam 😊
Really enjoying your videos. Glad I subscribed
That means a lot. Thank you 😊
another masterpiece
Very late reply but thank you!
Great video, well deserved burger and fries...
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed. Cheers!
Amazing moose encounter. Great memory for you. Cheers from northeastern Ontario
It certainly was Wayne. Thanks for commenting. Cheers!

LOL 😂 - Thanks for stopping by, I'm glad you enjoyed. Cheers!
That last female moose is why you don’t drink unfiltered water 😜 Thanks for taking us along on this great loop.
😂 😂
Glad you enjoyed Tina :)
Tina, I thought the exact same thing!
that moose was in to some good salad and wasnt about to give it up! Ha, gonna make a break for it only to have the muck turn against you lol. What an awesome shot, video of a life time
It definitely was! Thanks for commenting! 🍻
Awsome video! I just found your channel and really amazed! Im really impressed of your positive energy through out all your tough adventures 💪
Thank you!
I dub thee “wildlife whisperer.” From moose to loons to wolves it’s amazing how so many of them don’t react to you. Very cool.
Hahaha. I think I just get lucky to be honest. But I'm grateful each and every time I do.
That campsite high on the hill had some serious widow makers. The roots were fully exposed. 😮
I love that u r not rushed
Hey! I was on the Tim in the summer, and it was definitely an interesting river.
It really is. Did you spot any wildlife?
Sadly not much aside from a couple ducks.
That’s how it goes sometimes. It all comes down to luck.

And that’s why you filter your water 👍🏻
Yes exactly 😅
There's a ton of backcountry vids out there.. this is one of my favs. Subscribed!
Ever do any fishing?
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed. I haven’t but I plan to on some of my future trips. Cheers!

Thanks Jay. Cheers!

Thanks for the video. I justed my TH-cam camping channel this past summer and it's been a blast. Can I ask you what camera you use in the Canoe?
Just checked out your trailer. Beautiful filming! As for me - I simply use my iPhone 12 Pro Max. Cheers!

At around 11 mins...what was the oversized worm looking thing? My first guess is a leach??
You are correct! They normally won't bother you if you go for a swim a bit away from shore.
@@kevinthewild that was crazy seeing one swim around...in a lake! I've only seen them in the movie Stand by Me. Lol
I remember that scene 😄
What canoe is that? I can’t find anything like it with the seat
Hey Joey. It’s a Swift Keewaydin 15
Did you start this trip from canoe lake?
Yes I did.
@@kevinthewild Awesome ty. How long was it from canoe lake to shippagew lake? Or did you stop at some other lake first?
I camped on McIntosh lake night one, then Shippagew on night two of this trip.
🔥♥️🇵🇱
Na Zdrowie!
When there not to much « tourists » screaming etc you can see wild life
Definitely! Cheers 🍻
