momma, momma said every body puts their pants on one leg at a time. Colonel Sanders "momma's wrong!" (water boy) Cool video work John, thanks for the info. I'm looking to improve my trail armor, so thanks for posting!
Great video. I'm interested in your perspective on armor as I've seen you review at least 3 different products. Based on your experience, which armor would you wear on your next warm weather BDR: a) Forcefield EX-K Harness; b) Forcefield Pro X-V 2 Air armored shirt; c) REV'IT! Proteus Armored Jacket; or d) something entirely different?
I normally armor up for the type of trip, not the weather. XV Air or Proteus for mostly jeep roads and BDR style adventures / EX-K for anything gnarly.
@@JohnTYoung Cool. thanks! I'll probably fit into e medium then. You got bigger guns than I. I'm hoping Thanksgiving and winter doesn't bump you up to an XL! 😉
Good video. I thought half of the WABDR was closed due to fires and road closures? I did the Olympic Forest Loop in NW Washington this year. 650 miles or so and some cool sights.
Total Glamper. I gave my DJ and bartender the day off so they wouldn't mess up my video. When's a good time to start the CABDR? Let's do this. I'll bring the disco ball.
@@JohnTYoung this fall I can only get away for weekends but next spring looks good, late February, March and early April are decent times to go. I dont about section 1, specifically Indian Pass, it was brutal.
John, what’s your thoughts on abrasion resistance of the woodsman pants? Do you feel like the would be protective on a pavement slide in between off-road sections?
Hi John. Good video. I wear a similar setup. Just for the record you can still break your leg w ith motocross boots. My sidis bent above the ankle protection.
Lov the fack..for every other brands !!! Well done ..been to the head quarters (mosko moto) and was treated very well !..I have used the mosko moto gear this last summer on a 7561mile trip! And loved the gear..news at 11
Hey John. What are your thoughts on those forcefield pants vs the Klim ones you’ve worn previously, I was thinking of getting the Klim base layer padded pants with the forcible tube knee pads but just saw forcefield makes a pair of armored base layer as well.
The Forcefield pant's armor is a bit thick to fit under your riding pants unless they've been sized for it. But of course they offer serious protection for Unintended Rapid Dismounts.
forcefield pro x-v 2 air armored shirt vs REV'IT! Proteus Armored Jacket which one would choose or recommend.. Thinking on going with Mosko moto Basilisk Jacket doing the layering system
I am comparing a armored shirt vs armor from Forcefield. Can you list the pro cons of one vs the other? I am thinking the shirt would be a pain to keep washing even with a underlayor from sweat vs just rinsing armor off. I would like a real world comparison as I need something that breathes better than a jacket. BTW, when is your rally next year?
I'm not sure of which "shirt" you're talking about, but all you need do is look at the rating: None, CE 1, CE2. But I hear you, I hate laundry day too.
What temperatures where you riding in?It seems to me i would get really hot wearing a long john under the riding pants.I avoid them even in Winter (Greece).Very informative video and very nice gear,i really like the jackaloft (I use a softshell jacket under an acerbis enduro jacket).
I've worn them in temps from 90F to 50F and the mesh works well to keep your legs ventilated. Air goes right through them, and the pants I wore have no inner liner.
Asked you few months ago what your goggles were, just got a pair to use on my Euro Arai Tour-4 X which is same helmet you have, did you have to remove the plastic nose guard as goggles wont fit with it on.
Hey Bryan. I have two pairs of Oakley Air Brakes, one with the guard and one without. I can confirm the ones with the nose guard will fit, you have to turn them a bit sideways to clear the helmet's chin/nose guard.
@@JohnTYoung Had a look and managed to remove it and it fits great without it, can’t be done with trying to put them on with the nose guard in place. Also, what lens you mainly use on the trails, got the MX Prism Jade Iridium on the pair I have.
Hi, I'm sorry to bother you, I wanted to ask you a question, which armour do you see better. Forcefield EX-K or Leatt 5.5 /6.5 I'm thinking of buying one of the 3. What would be your advice for enduro riding on an AJP PR7. THANK YOU
Thanks for the video. I am looking at the Mosko Jackaloft to wear over my body armor or at camp on cool nights to replace my old puffer. What size is the Jackaloft in this video- it looks like it fits perfect over your armor. I am 5'10" and about 175 and trying to decide on medium or large - don't want it to be too tight if I wear it over my body armor and I don't plan on wearing the Jackaloft underneath armor as suggested on Mosko's site. Any help would be appreciated.
Good video, especially with Christmas coming, and its nice Mosko helped you out with a few pieces of gear!
They took pity on me, that's for sure. Thanks for watching Peter!

Great edits!! I need to drop a few pounds to get into the Mosko gear, but it’s gotta be great stuff if it’s anything like their luggage!!
Thank you. Their apparel is very well thought out for Enduro Touring, quality / price is No Excuses / No Apologies.
Great video dude, love the edit!
Thanks!

Question: I'm wondering what size Proteus armored jacket you were wearing featured in this video?

I did part of it in June, before the closures. And came back in September to finish it. Section 2 was closed for fires.
well done as always, thanks!
I don't know that they're "always" well done... but thank you Damon.

forcefield pro x-v 2 air armored shirt vs REV'IT! Proteus Armored Jacket which one would choose or recommend.. Thinking on going with Mosko moto Basilisk Jacket doing the layering system
Either works great. The Proteus fits a little closer and has rib protection. The XV is softer and has CE2 chest armor.

How would you rank the REVIT Protector Jacket Proteus to the Forcefield Body Armour pro XV2 for warm climates
They are both fully mesh so about the same. The XV2 Pro is a little softer for wearing it next to your skin tho.
Nice ad.
Thanks!

In armor you’d be a tank!
