I snagged this song on iTunes the day it came out. This is my 13 yr old son’s favorite song. Aaron Lewis holds a special place for my family. I heard this song right after it was released. I bawled like a baby because this song hit so hard on so many fronts. I've shared it to a ton of my friends and they had similar reactions. Sadly at 50 years old I feel that my generation is the last full group of people who truly get this song 100% due to the time we grew up in. Each generation following there's less and less people who have true pride in America. Today's young people have no idea how different the world was just a short 50 years ago.
When I first started hearing STAIND on the radio I was into Merle Haggard, Outkast with good shaggin’ Beach Music. Very eclectic blend but I didn’t care much for them because it seemed forced. A few yrs later Aaron played an acoustic with Fred Durst at, I believe was “98”” Warped Tour and I was able to feel the song, voice sounded honest and emotionally conveying! Ever since he’s changed back to himself “personal opinion “. He doesn’t sound like he’s working; he sounds like he’s sharing himself with us instead of doing what you’re told! I'm glad my parents didn't talk politics around us kids. I remember my Dad and Step Mom once arguing over Regan and Carter. But in all honesty them not talking about it let me come to my own conclusion and set my own path. I snagged this song on iTunes the day it came out. This is my 13 yr old son’s favorite song. Aaron Lewis holds a special place for my family. My late husband happened to dedicate a song to from staind to each of our kids. Another favorite song of my sons happens to be from Aaron Lewis as well. “Country Boy”. Y’all might like it.

I heard this song right after it was released. I bawled like a baby because this song hit so hard on so many fronts. I've shared it to a ton of my friends and they had similar reactions. Sadly at 50 years old I feel that my generation is the last full group of people who truly get this song 100% due to the time we grew up in. Each generation following there's less and less people who have true pride in America. Today's young people have no idea how different the world was just a short 50 years ago.

This song puts chills down my sine EVERY TIME I HEAR IT.
When I first started hearing STAIND on the radio I was into Merle Haggard, Outkast with good shaggin’ Beach Music. Very eclectic blend but I didn’t care much for them because it seemed forced. A few yrs later Aaron played an acoustic with Fred Durst at, I believe was “98”” Warped Tour and I was able to feel the song, voice sounded honest and emotionally conveying! Ever since he’s changed back to himself “personal opinion “. He doesn’t sound like he’s working; he sounds like he’s sharing himself with us instead of doing what you’re told! Absolutely beautiful song! Great reaction!

I'm glad my parents didn't talk politics around us kids. I remember my Dad and Step Mom once arguing over Regan and Carter. But in all honesty them not talking about it let me come to my own conclusion and set my own path. I've seen SO many #WalkAway videos of people saying they voted as they were told to vote by their elders. That is brainwashing, IMO. Or maybe just laziness on their part for not wanting to do the research. But there have been so many times I felt like a candle in a world of darkness.

definately Aaron is NOT the only one. This is a song that can get me choked up as well. Not only was Aaron the frontman for Staind but he is one of the most underrated country singers these days.
