4 mths ago my then 10 mth old grandson was laying in a hospital fighting for his little life and every morning as I traveled to see him just before I got to the hospital the radio station would play this song and I would crank it up and pray the rest of the way to the hospital. We were all throwing up some serious hail marys. He had been shaken and suffered 3 brain bleeds and a stroke, today he is alive and well starting to crawl again and sit on his own and trying to stand and get the use back of his right side. Its been a heck of a journey for him but someone sure has been by his side. Every time I hear this song it brings tears to my eyes because it brings me back to that awful time.
It Would Be Nice Of Jelly Boy Took Country Music More Seriously Since His ONLY Hit Song Was SORT OF Country (Son Of A Sinner) But Now He Wants To Bring Up All These Trailer Park Country Rappers With Him Instead Of Getting On Tours With People Like Jason Aldean Or Morgan Wallen
My wife and I went through this, over 20 years ago with our oldest son. He wound up in the hospital with a severe case of pneumonia, and we weren't sure if she was going to pull through. He spent a week in an oxygen tent, it was the hardest week of my entire life. I'm not a religious man, but I admit it, I got down on my knees and I prayed for his health to come back. He's a healthy 27 year old man, currently serving in the United States Navy. To this day I still pray for his good health, and his safety. When it comes to going to church, I'm the W@F church-goer, wedding and funeral.
I never get tired of listening to Jelly Roll, especially the way and how I got introduced to his music (RIP my brother (from another) who introduced me in the most unique and forever in my heart way (he passed 4 years ago)
I’m glad your brother (from another) introduced you to Jelly Roll 🙏🏽🙏🏽. I was just talking to a buddy of mine, about two hours ago, who said jelly roll was amazing last night at Stagecoach 👍🏾🔥. Thank you for taking the time to listen to our channel and make it a great day. - C -
I lost my grandpa the day after Thanksgiving last year and everything Jelly Roll sings has been hitting on a whole different level, I'm so grateful for an artist like him who is able to put the emotions into words and remind me that I'm not alone
Tears every time. I’m a Christian but haven’t been reading the word like I should or having my Boys in Church like I should but OH MY GOD Jelly reminds you. He really needs so many thank yous from this whole Country. He reminds us, God is so proud of you Jelly. You have found why God has put you here… so many people don’t. Stay healthy and alive for us Jelly we need you. God bless you sir.
Songs like this are what make Jelly Roll one of the best artists I've ever come across. He doesn't do the "mainstream" thing. He puts his message out there in his own way. Love this man and all his music.
This song is very powerful. Your reaction and different points of view are very thought-provoking. I had about a million things I considered saying about this video and your comments on it, but rather than that I just want to say "Well done, guys. A wonderful reaction to a deep video at a perfect time when I think a lot of us can relate. Have a great day."
This one gets me every time, especially as a father. Then I remember that he's always listening. But when we turn ourselves to want him to hear what we are saying we see that as prayer. Thought is prayer. If he didn't hear us all the time then how would he hear us when we want him to. Thank you guys for this reaction and your insights on it.
Wow! Now that would definitely be a concert I wouldn’t mind attending. Have a great time my friend and tell Jelly Roll to give Cedric and Brian a shout out during the concert 😉. - C -
@@cole29684 we’re at a very small venue right in the middle so it may have been more intense than sitting somewhere else. Def a lot of strobe lights going off. Great show none the less.
Jellyroll is an amazing human being. He is the real deal… he sings from experience, love and the proof that lives can be turned around… watch his testimony in front of the senate about the fentanyl crisis… it will make you cry… on another note… check out Dan Vasc and his version of “Amazing Grace” you will be sobbing on the floor
Yes, I agree with you, Cynthia. Listening to the words says one thing; and with the video giving you a visual representation of the words; it does hit a lot different. Thank you so much for watching our channel and make it a great day. - C -
It's a great song glad to see jelly getting his love man. He has really grown as an artist. As a country music fan I was both impressed and shocked to see them accept him. Alot of times when they switch genres it's not accepted, they end up getting called a sell out then you just never really hear of them. But when you watch him sing you can tell he is just making music he can feel! Great reaction guys!
I think this song resonated with a lot of people Tim 👍🏾. A good buddy of mine is at Stage Coach right now; and said Jelly Roll did an incredible job performing Saturday night. - C -
Love Jelly Roll. His lyrics are so much apart of his life. And for him to sell this song to a FAMOUS artist would never have an impact just like Save Me. He's very Imperfect just as I am. So his music is very special and important for those of us with a past. Thank God above he let this man be honest and sing his truth. He gives us honesty and I wish more artist would have the ability to do what he does for music.
Jelly Roll songs relate to almost everyone. They are deep. He has been doing music since 84 but videos not showing up on myspace then youtube approx 12-13 years ago. Became more known 2013 when he had to rename album due to using Waffle House name in a title. Therapeutic Music is what we call his music because it relates to us more than other music out there. It's is real, raw and truthful of what a lot of us go through. His country style can be found in earlier works in albums Addiction Kills, Waylon & Willie (with Struggle Jennings) etc. Jelly exploded more when he came out with Save Me. THank you for your reaction.
I have been following Jelly Roll for almost a year, now. He is so powerful because he speaks his truth about being a drug dealer, a drug addict, and an alcoholic. Jelly and Bunnie speak to so many of us. The song She really hits me because i found my best friend dead on her floor. We don't know her cause of death; but, she had Meth in her system. His song Save Me was me for decades! My demon was alcohol and self-worth. As far as Brian's view on sinners, and being saved ... i am more a Pagan, now, having been brought up hell-fire and brinstone Southern Missionary Baptist, where no matter what you do, you are going to hell! Things happened to me, in my childhood, that should never happen to a child ... i know i am not the only survivor ... but, those who commited those acts against me are now Christians and i don't want any part of their Heaven or God! His is supposed to be loving but vengeful, and i am not supposed to judge, but, where is MY vengeance? Where is the vengeance of others who have been through the living hell I went through? Ma'at is the Goddess of truth and justice. She weighs each soul at their death against a feather. If the soul weighs more than the feather, it does not go to the Afterlife, the souls journey was ended.
I guess I’m old school. Did George Michael & Elton John sing about women in love songs because that’s how they lived? And it may have been Shinedown, he sang with them too.
Oh my heavens, this video was what I needed tonight. Where to people come together and disagree but respect each other jelly roll country girl and I never heard your songs until American Idol hate you my room because I live exact same thing they’ve been through.
I love both of your reactions to this song. I agree with you both on pretty much everything. Brian I find myself agreeing with you on the one thing you and Cedric differ on, and I was made to go to my grandfather's pentecostal church when I was younger. I whole heartedly agree with Cedric that God wants you to come to him when you come to him. I don't believe he wants you to feel forced to do so. He knows that when you are ready you are ready and he will be there any time day or night. I love this song by Jelly Roll. I believe it was the first song I had heard of his. At first I didn't get it. It didn't resonate with me but then I really listened to it and... yeah.... who the hell am I to ask a favor when I hardly ever come to you? I feel guilty that I don't come as often as I should and I promise that I will more if you will only grant me this one favor! Please!!! Don't take her!!!! I felt this way through my whole pregnancy. I "wasn't supposed" to be able to have kids. GOD I prayed and prayed that I would one day have one. I finally realized that when He thought I was ready He would let me have one. Then I Prayed like hell that he wouldn't take her from me. She was born 6wks earlier but she is now almost 23! Thank you God for the blessings and prayers you have answered in my life, so far!!! 🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
Really nice guys. Enjoyed your breakdown of this song and the biblical references you added. The lyrics here are very special because it is something we can all relate to.
I’ve been sober for 15yrs and this song resinates with me on so many levels. I’m not religious, but believe in God and Jesus and I remember asking for help and guidance. My friend said “if you’re no longer standing in the sunlight of the spirit make no mistake who moved”. Once I let everything go, I was able to get back in that sunlight.
I personally agree with Brian’s philosophy on religion. But my first thought when you two were talking about not being able to be God and that there’s a reason we are human, I could only think about the end quote from REN’s - Hi Ren video in which he said it’s the dance between darkness and light that separates us from angels, demons, and God and we must remember that we are human beings. Thank you two for another heartfelt reaction! Also a quick edit, I don’t attend church much but do know the Serenity Prayer and recite it to myself at least once a day.
There is another song that in a way bleeds into this song. It is called "She". When he is running down the hall to his daughters room and they are rushing someone into the hospital, that is the other song. You should look into it if you have time
WOW!! This is the first time I have ever heard this song, and I am completely blown away!! Thank you for doing this reaction and for so eloquently sharing your thoughts on relationships with God! It was so refreshing to hear ylur differing perspectives. I find myself aligning with a mix of both of your beliefs. I'm still a work in progress!
Great reaction guys! I’d never heard Jelly Roll before, but just had to come say hi after Independent Unity told me you had given me a shout out. I’m in Arizona btw (Four Corners). 😘
I’ve watched 3-4 videos on people’s reactions to this song. Thank you for showing me there was a whole lot more to this song than the bad language. 🙏 Ty😊
Yes, that’s a horrible way to misuse God’s grace. The key is to repent, or do a U-turn, from all your wrongdoing, and never go back to it. God is completely aware of those people who use Him as a genie, or try to obtain a “get out of jail free“ card. Thank you for watching our channel. - C -
❤ God is using Jelly Roll...His Christian given name is Jason which means A Healer ....We have to go thru our lessons and experience things to be able to relate...I'm so happy for Jelly Roll that he has ran to Jesus like a child ...He is a very talented Song writer and Love his voice...Thank you guys!! ❤
It's not just Cedric's religion that teaches grace, it's a biblical truth. "For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast.…" Ephesians 2:8,9 You don't get into heaven without knowing Christ, no matter how good you are. Yes, even the thief on the cross was promised a place in paradise. God's love is unconditional.
Yes, it is definitely a gift from God paid for by Jesus’ death on the cross. Thank you for sharing that Leslie, and thank you for watching our channel. - C -
Thank you guys, you're absolutely right there is definitely enough talk about politics and this crazy stuff happening right now and for you guys to do something like this is a welcome change!
I've never needed God more than I have this year. I became born again in May and in July my wife passed away and she was the one who brought me to Christ. I know I won't make it without God it's a struggle every day but I've given it to God to guide me 🙏 I'm now a subscriber to your channel🔥
I love your friendship. My best friend is 20 yrs older than me and conservative, I’m more libertarian. We don’t agree on many things but we both want love and respect for everyone.
This song hit me hard when I heard the first time. When Lost my late girlfriend. She was very sick and I was doing alot of praying. Because already lost 10 months before her. So I was really rough place
I understand!! My mother( in her 40’s) suffered for 4 years with cancer before she passed. People at the funeral told me it was God’s will to take her. I’ve had a hard time with that because she suffered so much.
That Was His ONLY Country Song, And Now Hes Writing more Country Rap Crap On His New Album. I Saw Him Live And 3/4 Of It Was Rap Crap. Jelly Boy Needs To Take Country Music Seriously Since He's Performed At The Opry Now. If He Wants To Sing About The Ghetto With No Talent Rappers, OK, But He Needs To Concentrate On Getting On Real Tours With People Like Jason Aldean Or Luke Combs
Well it would make sense that it would it be a mix between rap and country. You know since he was a rapper first. And a pretty good one. But im guessing hes doing just fine without doing luke combs or jason aldean.
That’s what we’re called to do my friend 🙏🏽. Thank you for taking the time to watch our channel, and hope you get the opportunity to watch some more of our videos. - C -
I understand my friend…am 64 ….sometimes think in a sports world…..dont watch a game to see the officials…..just the players………thanks for being so kind to reply….
"Who am I to expect a savior if I only talk to God when I need a favor?" Well, here's what to say when you fold your hands: "Don't do it for me, do it for her." One other thing: he thinks God will do him a favor if he breaks the third commandment?
Some of the best services I have ever been to were not your standard church. They were cowboy church or bikers church, I was at Sturgis, SD and heard a very good service that got my attention in the middle of a LARGE bar and campground by accident
New Subscriber. Love you guys. I have always been a firm believer in... "Don't lie, don't cheat and don't steal". I am not religious but very spiritual. Something is out there, I just don't know what it is. Be the best you and everything will work out. Thanks for your take on this song. Jelly Roll is an amazing artist. And HOG for life!!! :)
I always say I don’t need to judge that gods deal. I have had times where bad things happened to me and it helped me a lot. I also know what it is like to plead with god to save my child from health issues. I love your reaction
It's not for us to judge. God knows if a person has genuinely turned their heart to him. Forgiveness can be given at any time, we simply need to ask for it. Anyone who can create a universe and us is way above my pay grade, so to speak.
Good point. Similar to wisdom, grace is given to those who request it; repent of their sins; and ask God into their hearts. Thank you for watching our channel. - C -
I had a good old fashioned minister say one Sunday morning, it doesn't say in the Bible that you have to be good. You are to walk in the way that Jesus did. We are going to fall short, b being good isn't enough to get you in to Heaven. You have to accept that you are a sinner and confess your sins and ask God for forgiveness in Jesus name. Seek God in everything you do, constant praise and prayer. Amen!
It’s been a while since I’ve seen this video, and I’m trying to recall where I interrupted. I would never want to intentionally steal someone’s moment when they are giving their testimony, and I apologize. I do appreciate you taking the time to watch our channel, and making the time to comment. Make it a great day, and God bless.

"For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast.…" Ephesians 2:8,9
You don't get into heaven without knowing Christ, no matter how good you are.
God bless you Cedric and Brian for your Christian compassion.
God is always here. Talk to him like a friend. 😊

What you just said is so so true
You both are awesome 😂😂
Can’t tell you how much we appreciate that Tim. Thank you my friend 🙏🏽. - C -
Jelly Roll actually won a CMA's for Son Of A Sinner a week or two ago. He won 3 total and he said he was gonna go celebrate and get drunk afterwards
Back in my day we called them the CEO's of the church Christmas and Easter Only.
LOL!! I’ll have to steal that one! Thanks for watching our channel.

Thanks for speaking Biblical truth, Cedric
That’s what we’re called to do my friend 🙏🏽.
Thank you for taking the time to watch our channel, and hope you get the opportunity to watch some more of our videos. - C -
You couldn't be more guilty of what this song is about.
I understand my friend…am 64 ….sometimes think in a sports world…..dont watch a game to see the officials…..just the players………thanks for being so kind to reply….
"Who am I to expect a savior if I only talk to God when I need a favor?"
Well, here's what to say when you fold your hands: "Don't do it for me, do it for her."
One other thing: he thinks God will do him a favor if he breaks the third commandment?
Some of the best services I have ever been to were not your standard church. They were cowboy church or bikers church, I was at Sturgis, SD and heard a very good service that got my attention in the middle of a LARGE bar and campground by accident
Cedric has been trying to walk like Denzel my entire life 😂
I’ll get it down eventually. 😉❤️. - C -
Jellyroll is the best ARTIST out!! And ima bet 1000 on that!!
#truth... ❤ this reaction and u guys...
Thank you Shanna. Love you my friend 💙. - C -
Love the 1776 shirt…and jelly roll is awesome.. his songs will leave me weeping with reality
My wife and I believe the scale idea, too.
I always say I don’t need to judge that gods deal. I have had times where bad things happened to me and it helped me a lot. I also know what it is like to plead with god to save my child from health issues. I love your reaction
The CMT version is awesome
I need to look up that version on TH-cam because I’m sure it is incredible!! Thank you for watching our channel my friend.

CEO's-Christmas and Easter Only
Cedric, you are so on point! Thank you. New subscriber.
GOD knows what is in your heart. If you are saying your saved but just to hedge your bets. No dice!
Your Special! There is more store than You Realize!
God is Good! Thank you gentlemen. I needed this
My daughter was hit by a truck when she was 12. Today is her 26th birthday 🙏🙏🙏 thank you God
im not religious at all. but i have found myself in this position just yelling at the universe to give me an opportunity to help someone. ❤❤
It's all about the GOOD NEWS.
It's not for us to judge. God knows if a person has genuinely turned their heart to him. Forgiveness can be given at any time, we simply need to ask for it. Anyone who can create a universe and us is way above my pay grade, so to speak.
Going thru so much the part about the guy on the cross got me
Man I was just telling my family this last week. My mom passed away yesterday. Crazy.
Gratia gratis data (grace freely given) (please look it up if ur interested)
is what I feel was discussed in this video.
Good point. Similar to wisdom, grace is given to those who request it; repent of their sins; and ask God into their hearts.
Thank you for watching our channel.

Just found y'all. I love that you disagree but still love. People need to know that is ok. Well played bosses
U all r awesome. Great ying and yang.
Savannah Dexter ft jelly roll can't never could
I had a good old fashioned minister say one Sunday morning, it doesn't say in the Bible that you have to be good. You are to walk in the way that Jesus did. We are going to fall short, b being good isn't enough to get you in to Heaven. You have to accept that you are a sinner and confess your sins and ask God for forgiveness in Jesus name. Seek God in everything you do, constant praise and prayer. Amen!
God is God and he is the finale Judge. Lest we not judge.
I'm going thru it now. I can't stop drinking. I've never been like this before. I'm a working alcoholic
I never bargaining with the devil. I put my trust in God. My daughter is alive. With a TBI. But she is here 🥰💯
Sure it may be Brighton , tn
Shame on you for interrupting Cedric. I was touched and enjoying his testimony.
