I almost bought one but decided to go for the 2015 wwe shop 4mm WcW whc replica instead, main reason for not buying the Fandu for me was I knew I wasn't going to like the ridiculous floppyness of the Fandu simulated strap. 2nd reason the main plate just seemed to be lacking in the over all breathtaking size the Big Gold style belts are supposed to have. 3rd, the weird domed plate, just seemed to awkwardly shaped for a championship title for me personally BUT I do admit and cannot by any means deny that the detailing in their plate designs are quite outstanding for a relitively affordable replica that wont cost you thousands to aquire but they're just missing certain things that would've made it an undenyable instant buy for my tastes. hence why I got the 4mm wweshop wcw whc. which I managed to Curve enough to get that Classic Big Gold curve into it (even slightly at the top of the main plate) that I loved seeing on tv as a kid. that's just my observations as to why I opted out.
I completely agree with you here. If making the choice between the Fandu and the newer 4mm WWE Shop versions, I personally would always opt for the WWE Shop belt. The Fandu are great for what they are, I may have to do a follow up video eventually as I had more thoughts on the belt since filming this. I think most of all the sizing of the plates and the dome really bugs me the more I look at it now.
Paul Martin The version 1 of the Fandu Big gold in my observations was probably the better of the Fandu Big Golds produced it had a very slick shine to it with the dual plated mirror finish they gave it, if there was any Fandu big gold I would be inclined to possibly pick up, it'd be that one. but they've since discontinued it even though there is a demand for its reproduction.
@@deejay1921 I used the slats inbetween the 2x4's on my Deck to produce the curve to the plates, I did not take the plates off the strap to do this because I didnt want to risk buggering up the posts where the screws go in on the back of the plates. just work your curve into your plates very slowly Do Not Rush and be very mindful to not over bend or you can break you plates. It is a risk Curving 4mm plates and I dont suggest doing it unless you're crazy enough to attempt doing so, like me.. luckily I didnt damage mine.
I just received mine yesterday and I would say they made some great improvements! Although I ordered a standard/generic leather strap, the quality is way better than the one in this video. The plate edges aren't sticking out when you bend the strap. I am very pleased! Fandu Belts are the best!
I bought the dual-plated version of this belt - it is fantastic. It's not even comparable to any 'replica' belt I've had, it's infinitely better in quality, etching, stonework, everything. For the price it's an absolute bargain.
I definitely agree with you, the plates are really well made, the detail achieved is great. As mentioned in this video I wasn't a fan of the strap but that is easily fixed. I would say though that the recent WWE replica belts such as the NXT belts have massively improved in quality compared to past replicas which is nice to see.

Got a flawed Nickel & Gold belt it's a nice belt especially how it looks in certain lighting the brightness varies. This is the only belt I ever wanted other than The 1998-2002 WWF Championship.
The interesting thing about this I believe Fandu changed the material for all their simulated straps. The Andre I ordered Had this type fake leather however my Big gold that I have from them is a different material alot more shine and no bubbling . I think the reason might be that I have a older big gold produced by them.

Actually it wasn't based on the WWE Big Gold, it is based on the NWA/WCW big gold hence no WWE logo on there as the V1 Big gold for WWE was the actual WCW big gold until around 2003 when they changed it and added the WWE logo in.

The fandu stones are very nice. However, they are glued in very cheaply with like the glue on the back of gift cards so they fall out easy. Nothing some super glue can't fix though.

Fandu do sell belts with "FAKE" leather. This belt was/is mine that Paul worked on. The strap and plates were the exact same ones I received from Fandu. It's a synthetic leather and is flimsy as hell. There are tons of videos on TH-cam of their big gold replicas with the exact same straps. You need to maybe get your hands on some REAL leather to educate yourself on the differences between that and the PLEATHER you're accustomed with
Wweshop is pleather...I have 3 fandu belts that are real leather as b4 the pleather would not last due to the whight of the plates educate urself on the difference ....an if u can prove that its pleather AND IT SAYS ITS PLEATHER cuz I'm on the syte now...then ill Bleave u

If you curve a WWE big gold you realise they are actually similar in size. They are pretty much the same height.
