@blurryronin7405 It wasn't as "scripted" back in Bruno's day but it was still somewhat predetermined. Bruno literally would not fucking drop title if he felt the opponent couldn't legitimately whoop his ass in a real fight. Bruno was obsessed with realism and hated the entertainment route the business was slowly going; he called superstar Billy Graham's victory over him a tragedy.

Going by kayfabe, it makes sense. It’s like in the UFC, the longest streaks for HW is three. Same with LW. Divisions very deep. Same with attitude era main events.
Adding the 3 reigns as champion, Shawn Michaels did not make it to one year, it is incredible how little time he had with the charisma he had, how much the fans loved him and above all how good he was inside the ring and with the microphone.
My best friend was a huge wrestling fan and learning more about it makes me feel close with him. He died 3 years ago from a bleeding ulcer during covid because the doctors sent him home instead of treating him properly. He loved Bray Wyatt so I hope he finally got to meet 1 of his idols.

I feel the same way. This shows that many people haven't known wrestling for very long. For example, Goldberg was never WWE Champion. Neither does Chris Benoit. But World Heavyweight Champions. And those were two different titles back then. One for RAW and one for Smackdown. Today I can't really have a say in that anymore because I rarely watch the WWE since it fell into the PG era. At most, the biggest PPV's like Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, Summerslam and Survivor Series. Because the characters are almost the same today, the stories are often very similar. The league has simply lost its appeal.

Roman has been over since his heel turn, literally the greatest character in wrestling for the last 3 yrs since he turned heel, no other modern wrestler in this generation( under 40 yrs) is remotely close to being as big of a draw as he is. It would be amazing not to push him.

Damn the Attitude and Ruthless aggression eras had very short title runs. Making the belt more of a prop than a legitimate championship getting passed around so easily. Also there were not many international champions either most were American and weak title runs other than Roman Reigns recently.
IMO I prefer long title reigns adds more prestige to the belt and the lineage.
