Thanks Ms.Salamon this episode was new for mee never heared about Osuna and his Duke The building with the towers and Dukes painting by Goya must bee a treasure for Spain you lucky to have seen it.
I enjoy these visits so much, they are marked on my calendar to make certain I do not miss them. The Frick and Dr. Saloman are amazing. Thank you so much for all of these !
Always a pleasure tuning into your blog, Xavier. I could easily sit and listen to you for hours as you are so knowledgable and well spoken. Thank you for your dedication to the Frick Collection and the ongoing pursuit to enlightening all of us. Best regards, Darryl
Love all of the Frick's videos. May I suggest that Xavier make one to tell us all about the opening of the Frick at the Breuer building? I'd love to know a bit about what the collection will look like in its temporary home and also what kind of renovation will be going on in the 71st Street building. Thanks!
Hello Xavier! I thoroughly enjoy your 'Travels' and other videos. And I adore the Frick. I know these are meant to relate in some significant way to something in the Frick's collection. However, I'm curious about your own art collection-- like the pieces behind you. Or what you look for to have in your own collection. Does being surrounded by the Frick's collection influence your own taste? It's such a rare glimpse we've all gotten into the personal spaces of various people, colleagues, etc. during this pandemic. Thanks again for your time, knowledge and dedication.
Is the Saint Jerome relief panel a glazed ceramic or a painted carved wood or stone panel? As a sculptor, I would love to see a close up photo of the panel, but was unable to find one during an internet search. Again, a wonderful video insight into a little known (to me) aspect of the dukes of Osuna and the city of Osuna architecture and art. Thanks Mr. Salomon, for your continuing expertise and contributions to our knowledge.
Hi Brian Richards - there’s a fairly hi res image on the Spanish wiki at commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:San_jeronimo_colegiata_2016001.jpg#mw-jump-to-license. Apparently it’s terracotta and was restored in 2011 www.elmundo.es/elmundo/2011/06/20/andalucia_sevilla/1308581793.html
