I visited the Palace on the Isle (and the surrounding Lazienki Park) in the summer of 2021. Warsaw as a whole was a wonderful surprise, exceeding my expectations, and the Palace was the highlight of my trip to this beautiful city. This video was a great reminder of my visit to one of my favorite places I've visited in Europe. Like Mr. Salomon implores: Go.
Dear Xavier, this is an extraordinary work. You have combined history, art and travel in your presentations to educate, to share and encourage people during this challenging times. Being a travel agent and art lover, I want to thank you for your outstanding work and knowledge of the world history and art, and the most important for sharing with people who love and appreciate it. Be well and continue your extraordinary work to bring the world into our life’s with beauty and peace.
What a wonderful tale. Thank you for including Łazienki in your lectures. If you come to Warsaw you will see that now the palace and the park are not on the outskirts, but quite close to the Old Town and the city centre, opposite government buildings.
Xavier, I am in awe. Your articulate manner, wide experience and incredible knowledge are combined to create an inspiring presentation. We are all looking for positive moments during these trying times and these "Curator" series are some of them. I look forward to upcoming episodes.....keep up the great work!
Wonderful and very detailed. One thing: Stanislaw August cannot be credited with the constitution of 1791; he was against it during most of the parliamentary debates and only jumped on the bandwagon at the very last stage. Otherwise: amazing! 👏👏
Lovely the collection. And proud that related to a Polish person, in this case my Father the Architect Jan Gorecki. Very beautiful and didactic presented. I went several times , but was in Restauration. The other times I visited all the Area and Compound of the Palace. Very Beautiful and visit it in Xmas time with the lites and music. All an event to see. Thanks for this wonderful gift presented through this media.🥰💟💟💟
This presentation was brilliant and no doubt with a lot of homework attached to it. Thank you so much, Javier. I'm anticipating watching other videos that that you compiled. I can't say enough. Kind regards, Darryl
I pray that you will continue similar programs in the future. I appreciate your enormous store of knowledge and your kind and progressive attitude. Thank you so much!
Fascinating! Thank you so much for that interesting introduction. Although being Polish, I've never had a chance to properly visit and explore my capital city. That will have to change !
Thank you so much for these presentations...they are wonderful and inspiring. The beauty of the art and the environment is amazing. Thank you so much to the 'Curator' himself, you are so knowledgeable and you share it all so well.
Thank you for your job! Great presentation. I miss this wonderful park and my morning jogging routine in it during my short 2 years ago summer stay in Warsaw.
Thank you for sharing Lazienki with us and your discussion of Poniatowski. It is definitely on my itinerary when we return to Warsaw next time. Lazienki and Frick have so many parallels. At least the Romanovs didn't spend any time at the Frick. Or did they?
Dear Mr. Salamon it ws a great pleasure to the last King of Polands beautiful place as you zitert they must had been kind hearted people. As it was showen Stanislaves Salamon canvases.I was in Warshow jus for two days after Paps John Paulos visit after Chenstohova. Its pitty I havent been to the Palace but now Im relaxed to see it.The architecture of course is not comparable with Krakows Wavel what i saw as the residence of the nobles.Anyway happy to hear all this and I love also Chopen among my cd is a few of them.Apollo Belvedere statue is my greek and a few italien collection as having 27m2 room I couldnt put more than David Mozes and Pieta. In Thorwiden Muzeum?
I didn't know Polish monarchs were elected - amazing. I do admire your facility with languages Mr Salomon; your pronunciation of different languages is incredible and teaches me a lot. (Are you familiar with Welsh...?) Thank you.
Xavier clearly knows his stuff, and the idea for this series is excellent, but I'm too much of a proletarian to appreciate these royal extravagances, even if they are open to the public now.
So glad that this 18th century jewel largely survives. As an aside; is it just me or does the bed seem unusually small. I've noticed that in some palaces the beds seem rather small even allowing for differences in stature.
I've read recently, that the reason for beds being rather small ( in our view) is the fact, that people slept in upright position. Lying down meant to be on the dead bed.
Good presentation. Just one small mistake: maris Theresia was Archduchess of Austria, Queen of Hungary and Bohemia, etc etc. - daughter of the HR Emperor Charles VI., her husband Francis Stephan got elected as HR German emperor Francis I. and she was the mother of the HR German Emperor Joseph II. - she wasn't "Empress of Austria"

All of these episodes are terrific; incorporating Central and Eastern Europe is especially enlightening. Thank you.
I am so enjoying and learning with Travels with a Curator. The narrator is excellent.

Exquisite and a miraculous survival.
