The Frick website says they will end on September 9 and will be greatly missed by those of us who would love to attend the Frick Collection when it re-opens but look forward every week to this unique experience with such a knowledgeable guide. These episodes, along with Cocktails with a Curator, have been such a treat to look forward to each week. Is there any way to encourage the Frick to continue them into the future?

These lectures have had an immeasurable impact on me during our extraordinary 2020. I have discovered that I truly LOVE Art History! I visited The Frick several times when I lived in Manhattan during the time of the Millennium. Now I reside in Honolulu, and although there is exquisite natural beauty here, I do miss the immense cultural offerings in NYC. Your lively lectures bridge this cultural gap for countless people around the globe. Please continue, Xavier! Perhaps the new “Canvas” program on PBS could bring your compelling art history lectures to a wider audience.
I absolutely agree! I live near San Francisco which is the home of several great art museums. As soon as I can I am definitely going to visit them. They had a wonderful show on Van Gough several years ago that was paired with Impressionism. I was able to attend both and came home totally inspired. Now, thanks to Xavier and Amiee I am completely addicted !

Thanks for this vlog and your Cocktails with a Curator series. I wonder if they can tell the difference between the Copies and the originals at the Frick. They are beautiful in the museum. They had a beautiful Turner exhibit several years ago. I’ve been studying Holbein’s Tudor paintings recently and plan to go take a better look at his portraits at the Frick when they reopen. They have some wonderful portraits. I will also visit the MET since it will be the first time in my life (other than during a few snowstorms) that I can visit without major crowds.

My fantasy of ideal love has centered on the Fragonard paintings there, and I have actually dreamt of the room from time to time. Oddly enough, I did not know much about the paintings except that I find them delightful. The young woman with her arms outstretched represents the height of joy and exuberance. Thank you!
The sugar plum painter, no warts just loveliness. Thanks for showing the more realistic, early religious work. The abstract, amorphic design is especially interesting, "everything old is new again."
How I long for the virus to be over...and that means the Trump virus as well as Covid, so I can come back to New York and visit the Frick, having been so inspired by these wonderful lectures. In the meantime I can dream.
