Hey Sandy :). The moccamaster heats the water up, so you don’t need to boil it before pouring it into the water chamber. Generally speaking the grind size for French press is quite coarse. I’m not sure what recipe or coffee you’re using, or the temperature of water, so I’d say start at 20 and increase based on how it tastes. Don’t go past 30 though, probably a little too coarse at that point :)

Whats the H2O temp just prior to poring please and if you also use a French press what it the grind setting number on your encore?
