Unboxing a Nintendo Switch Oled in 2024 | Rare Switch Game Hunting in 2024

- Its 2024 and The Nintendo Switch Oled has been out since October 2021. However my Original Nintendo Switch has started to fail and is on it's last legs. This means it is now time to buy a Nintendo Switch Oled in 2024 and add to my nintendo Switch collection something that I have been looking to buy since the release of The Nintendo Switch Oled.
The Nintendo Switch Oled is kind of like the Nintendo Switch Pro and is a must have for any Nintendo Collector or Gaming collector
In this video I also look for Rare Nintendo Switch games that I believe will rise up in Value. This is something I do most weekends so please check out the rest of my channel is you're interested in this topic.

I'm so happy for you. You will love the bigger and better screen for sure. I too had the jiggly joy-cons on my original Switch. I always use a case that frames the whole console and joy-cons together to make it feel more solid. It also allows the console to be docked. It's not crazy to upgrade when you can get a good price and you will use the console for many more years to come to get through your backlog. I gave my original Switch to my husband and he is rediscovering The Legend of Zelda. There is hope for him yet, lol.
Having a case that docks is such a dream of mine! Where can i find one of these?
@@Switchbored I got mine from Amazon. Just a basic soft plastic casing that hold the whole thing together (makes the kickstand I never use unusable). Skull & Co also make a nice one that includes grips.
I couldn't afford a new system for a long time. I have a Gameboy Advance, DS/3DS and a PS3. I bought a Switch Oled the beginning of 2023 because I wanted to play the Fire Emblem games, Hogwarts Legacy and Breath of the Wild. I am so happy! There are so many games for me to pick from, I love my Switch!

@@Switchbored cuphead looks good Metroid prime Metroid dread the Zelda games Mario kart 8 deluxe splatoon looks decent but not amazing for some reason I never knew why any games that really are good animated with nice coloring look usually breath taking Kirby forgottenland looks good there’s a lot of games I’d pop some in and try them to see

I got the Neo model during the Easter sale on TheGameCollection, be making it my primary console and transfer my saves for AC, Smash and the like this weekend.
I'm still going to keep the old one around for secondary saves - like with pokemon - though that one will probably stay in its dock, given the spilt case.

My left joycon on a brand new oled has the same issue you mentioned about your OG switch.
I looked everywhere to try and fix the issue. Couldnt find any solution. Figured it was just something that cant be fixed
@@Switchbored Me and my best friend both have OG switches. Mine is as old as yours and his is 3 years old and we both have issues connecting the left joy con. So not just you for sure buddy.
my ps5 I am using very little apart from lords of the fallen, dragon's dogma 2, ronin and a couple horror games everything else runs on ps4 just fine... ok stellar blade is great! but for my switch I keep buying games (too many games) every month. Switch is the new PSVITA: a treasure trove for shmups, visual novels, metroidvainias... imports... dungeon crawlers... I mean it is still in full swing. Maybe not many strategy/grand strategy games? Can u imagine Stellaris on switch? That would be amazing (and probably unreadable ;) ). But apart from that...
Also Sam I been collecting Wii for about over a year or so now I stopped but I’m still looking for a few titles I also still have a working snes still trying to track down a few retro games for both Wii and snes
Great video. I still got the original switch but i have to wait to find out if switch 2 is backwards compatible.
I think this is one of the many fears of switch owners right now. Would love the next console to be backward compatible but part of me think nintendo will be doing away with the switch branding for their next console
The OLED screen is not actually better in everything than LCD. For example the grays are kinda grainy... there is green tint issue across all devices. It's just because of the cheap Samsung panel.
Edit: If the only issue was the Joy-Con connection, you just had to clean the pins on the Switch itself where the Joy-Con sit. Also new pair of Joy-Con are much cheaper than entire system.
Do you have an Oled switch? because from my experience, what ive seen of the oled is far better screen quality and quality control of the console itself. I dont think Nintendo would release a upgraded version of the console and it be no better than the original. I honestly dont see any green tint issue as you claim.
Also ive cleaned the pins on both joy cons and switch, didnt work. Tried different joy cons also, even the new ones from the oled ...did nothing to fix the problem.
@@Switchbored I have OLED from day 1 - same white edition. The build quality of the console is better, but the screen has it's own issues. Just Google "Switch OLED green tint issue". Very common. (Even TH-cam videos with examples how to notice it). Yes, the size, colors are better, but the gray color struggle at certain conditions.
