I HAVE THE 2022 GEN 2 AND PERSONALY I LIKE IT BETTER BECAUSE THE GEN 3THRU AXELS ARE ONLY ON THIS BIKE THEY ARE NOT NORMAL AXELS THE GEN2 YO CAN REPLACE THE AXEL AT ANY BICYCLE SHOP EVEN IN A SMALL TOWN IN A 3RD WORLD CONTRY THE GEN3 WOULD BE HARD TO FIND AXELS s BECAUSE ITS THE ONLY BIKE THAT HAS THESE KINDS i live in México and can replace Quick release axels anywhere
They also changed the top tube angle. I’ve never felt confident on descents on my Marlin 7 because of the geometry and wonder if this is a noticeable improvement.

Depends on your budget and you need for a dropper seat post.
