very good video mate I've got the drivers side leak and break servo area leak going on. I've unblocked the 2 Vents port holes as they were full off leaves and debris but still leaking so booked in for job next week £180
I think its a bit of both as well. I can see on the cover sponge where its wet but when I checked the housing that bolts to the bulkehad 2 bolts were finger tight and it was damp between the plastic and metal. If the water can settle on top of the pollen filter housing and get behind that it can certainly do the same with the BCM housing. On a previous Corsa C I eased the housing back and squirted silicon, I seem to recall unfastening the wiring multiplugs as well, but can'r remember for sure. I have looked all over for a tutorial of how to be gentle around the ECM and loom but cant find one, can you?
just discovered your channel, it's great and so helpful. You present your videos so clearly and I have the same corsa aswell, had to do this on mine aswell
Thanks for the vid! They seem to have a lot of places that collect crud... I've found on the 2001 XC Barina (Corsa C) that under the roof rack strips and behind the tail lights collect dirt / leaves. I'll have to check those places you identified on mine near the master cylinder and under the battery. Cheers
You should use Polyurathane seal as vauxhall do when new it is much more heat resistant than silicone also the servo can be unbolted and pulled out to provide better access but be careful not to bend the fluid pipes too much and take care when removing the stop light switch it can break
I've bought a new cover £50, sadly the same problem is still there, water gathering up inside the box then leaks out, i get a small "splash" when i get to drive forward if the car have been sitting, water gathers behind the seat...
Hi James, thanks for all the Vids, I've picked up a Corsa a little while ago, and have been following some of your Vids with servicing and maintenance in general. Useful stuff, and I'm pretty sure you're the only one doing them. However one part that I would like to see in particular is Tools and products you use in the description, so that once I've watched a video, I can go back to it, and open the description as a reminder, i.e. what Silicone sealant you are using here (mine is also leaky) and in the Service video, what sizes of tools etc. Keep it up man, I'm keen to see more!
hi, love your videos, I need to do exactly what you did for the driver's side only. can you please tell me all the tools necessary to get the job done? I don't wanna be stuck half way through the process because I'm missing any tools. Thanks in advance.
my corsa is having the same issue too. i did it before briefly but didnt work 100% to a dryer car, after watching this clip i now know i will hopefully sort it and get it completely dry. have you been able to make a clip on how to remove the covers safely and putting them back? thanks
just had the same problem on a tigra twintop so did the brake servo seal then used under body sealant over the top for extra protection- this job had been done before by someone who did it very very badly and used bluetac in the areas where the seal had gone (I am not joking it really was blue tac lol) don't use bluetac people and do the whole thing-if your handbrake light stay on after this fix just add some more brake fluid
I know this video is old now.. but I was wondering if you could do a video of you actually taking out the break servo itself? That's if you still have the corsa. Thanks bro
Passenger side footwell is normally heater Matrix related check coolant level if it's down a fair bit or keeps going down that could be your leak mine leaked from brake servo but whole seal went so I had to take brake servo off completely to fix this leak
The video I've been waiting for. I have had water in the passenger side on occasions. I think the water collects for a while then drips through when on the move. Had a good idea for drivers side fix(not needed yet ) but not for passenger side. Hope to do mine before the winter. Let us know how the fix performs. atb Steve
Hi mate great video, I have had the same issue with my corsa. Last week i did exactly what you did around the servo. Put the hose over for s while and yes no leak, of that's what I thought. When I was moving the sponge under the pedals I noticed a slow drip coming from the brake pedal GUTTED!!! I'm not sure what else to do? I covered all the seal, the nuts, cables anything that water could find a way. I'm thinking of putting silicone on the inside where the drip is but Would it re-route the drip elsewhere? Any ideas would be great.
+Mark Morgan-green thankyou, just to check you did make sure you covered all the bottom on the servo gasket? As i know how much of a pain in the ass it is to get to! i haven't really had any other issues with mine so i haven't checked inside near the peddle, i will have a look later on this evening and get back to you though!
Thank you mate it's taking over my life lol, I did it twice as I thought I missed the bottom so did again. I used tiger seal then on top normal sealant. I used a paint brush to make sure it covered completely
Im a bit confused, that bcm module area, why would water come from there? I have a wet floor issue on my passenger side and i noticed now my driver side also starting... I dont smell a notable odor but if i feel the carpet its a horrible oily type of film its really weird. I do also notice that for some reason i need to add water to my coolant tank quite often. not sure if it is related.
johnyfartpants the BCM wiring goes down into the car, water runs along the wiring and drips down where the wiring comes though near the glove box. In all honesty i cant see who the lid would leak water as it's flanged over unless you got a serious build of crud blocking the water drain hole enough to cause a pool of water in there then it's unlikely to be coming through the lid, it's more likely the seal between where the bcm bolts to the bulkhead
+James'sWorld Thanks :) iv been doing some research and its seems to be a very common problem with these cars, got to do the timing chain, waterpump and the gear linkages on mine. Subbed.
I have the same issue in my corsa c sxi 2005. This is a quick fix method which will work for a while but eventually the silicone will break down again. I've been researching a lot and i've wrote up a guide on how to fix this. I'm not a professional in any way at all. But if anyone would like it, send me a message and i'm happy to help. It involves removing the brake servo entirely so you can get full access to the seal and then replace with tiger seal.
Did this today without any experience doing anything like it. Went really smoothly, let's see if it works! Thanks so much
very good video mate I've got the drivers side leak and break servo area leak going on. I've unblocked the 2 Vents port holes as they were full off leaves and debris but still leaking so booked in for job next week £180
They don't leak through the lid,it leaks where the bcm housing bolts to the bulk head

thanks your videos are great i have a vauxhall corsa and want to do my own repairs have you videos on wheel bearing removal and rear shoe
hi. how did you Remove the plastic that the battery lead is sitting on.
could you do a video on how to remove the Plastics to get to the brake servo seal
I've bought a new cover £50, sadly the same problem is still there, water gathering up inside the box then leaks out, i get a small "splash" when i get to drive forward if the car have been sitting, water gathers behind the seat...
+keith loynes i cant reply to your comment as you are not a subscriber but i will film one today for you
did you do it mate

Same issue with Vauxhall tigra twintop, perfect tutorial, giving this a go! #legend 😉

Nice video. I have a combo and lot of water in footwell. Did this fix sorted the wet issue.
Had same problem on Astra H but was at passenger air intake / firewall
I know this video is old now.. but I was wondering if you could do a video of you actually taking out the break servo itself? That's if you still have the corsa. Thanks bro
Thanks for this video! my silicone seal was cracked very badly. resealed it today hopefully it holds through the rain
Hi can you please show me how the break pedal spring goes on my corsa please. Thanks
Passenger side footwell is normally heater Matrix related check coolant level if it's down a fair bit or keeps going down that could be your leak mine leaked from brake servo but whole seal went so I had to take brake servo off completely to fix this leak
+9598rambo Thanks for the heads up, when i get it put back together i will keep an eye on the coolant
On my Vauxhall combo van got wet foot well some what do I do James???

Yea a lot of people seem to have this issue, I'm not convinced the passenger side is going to solve it I reckon I need to do more but time will tell
any ideas about seatbelt/airbag light permanently on mate ?
Very useful information about many topics especially the water ingress

+James'sWorld hi mate any joy
EXCELLENT .. WORKED FIRST TIME .. THANKS MATE .. now to work out how to remove the carpet for drying arrrrgh lol
The seal in the lid of them bcm case degrades and water somehow makes its way in.. Since sealing mine it's been bone dry
Think the BCM lid seal just lets the water into the relays inside? not actually into the cab of the car?
johnyfartpants the BCM wiring goes down into the car, water runs along the wiring and drips down where the wiring comes though near the glove box.
In all honesty i cant see who the lid would leak water as it's flanged over unless you got a serious build of crud blocking the water drain hole enough to cause a pool of water in there then it's unlikely to be coming through the lid, it's more likely the seal between where the bcm bolts to the bulkhead
i have just bought a corsa c and i have exactly the same problem on the drivers side. has the silicone done the job?
+Jamie Garner For me, yes :) give it a go bud!
+James'sWorld Thanks :) iv been doing some research and its seems to be a very common problem with these cars, got to do the timing chain, waterpump and the gear linkages on mine. Subbed.
awesome man! good luck on all of those jobs, if you need any help or have any questions hit me up on here on on twitter @itsjamesworld23
Can you do it from the inside of the car?
You removed the RIGHT windscreen wiper. You don't drive backwards ;)
hi is it still leaking
+keith loynes Nope completely dry now :)
+James'sWorld could you do a video on how to remove the covers
absolutely yes when i get an hour or two i shall
+James'sWorld ok cheers need to try and fix the leak
👍👍

It involves removing the brake servo entirely so you can get full access to the seal and then replace with tiger seal.
+Brad H I have done this post after this video.
+The Savage Garage Ah okay mate
hi brad could you let me know a longer solution to sealing corsa footwell thanks
+The Anton Show no problem i'm on my phone at the minute though. Send me a private message if you can and i'll send you the word document:)
Buy a new seal!
