Nice large bowl. That s-shaped rest seems useful to me. What do you not like about it? Now you had a good support with the negative rake scraper.
    Frank.

Hi Frank, with the scraper it worked great but with the bowl gouge the outer part seems to get in the way for my hand .. :-) but i will try it out some more .. Thank you for watching, hope all is well stay safe and have a great day .. 😀😀🎄

@@WOODTURNINGBYBRANDSTRUP Thanks for your explanation Kim. Then the "Robust interior curved tool rest" would be a better option. (unfortunately it is very expensive 😕)

Very nice-looking Oak. Oak can be a difficult wood to turn so well done. Do you use your Laser engraver to draw the logo on the bottom?

Hi Sigurdur, It was my second time turning oak and the grain was really nice, so not the last i do.. . about the logo i am using my laser to do that .. thank you for watching stay safe and have a great day 😀🎄

    Hejsa Kim,
Flot skål, det er ikke altid let at få en pæn overflade på tørt egetræ, godt arbejde!

Oak is nice wood for turning but pretty hard. You made it even harder because the bowl is relatively deep.
That is the most difficult hollowing while you tend to have more tool overhang. That curved toolrest should have helped you.
I was looking into getting one myself but in your opinion a straight rest works just as good??

    • @WOODTURNINGBYBRANDSTRUP

Hi Leo, I have only used the tool rest 2 times so i am going to givet some more tries before voting it out, yes the Oak is very hard and the depth of the bowl look deeper on the movie than it is, it is only 9 cm(3.5 inch) btw the tool rest is the Robert Sorby system the quality is realy good .. if you are buying some at one point .. Thank you for watching .. have a great day Leo and stay safe // regards Kim 😀😀🎄
