The videos are for entertainment only. Woodturning is dangerous. Always seek professional advice and training before using the Lathe or any power tools. If you have any uncertainty before performing any woodturning procedure, stop and learn a safer method. Do not attempt any technique simply because you saw it in one of my videos, I might be doing them wrong!

The mellow red on the pale birch is such a good contrast. I like this.

I agree the red and the spalted silver birch goes really good together, will not be the last I am making, I did make one in sky blue too and that came out really nice too.. Silver birch is very receptant for colors it seems .. Thank you very much for watching my video i really appreciate it .. have a merry Christmas and stay safe 😀🎄

The colour is gorgeous! I really like that hole in the side. It gives it so much character. Not every bowl has to hold soup!! 😃😃😃

Very nice. Beautiful wood. I like the shape of the bowl and the colours. Less is often enough, but it can be difficult to decide when to stop adding colours. In this case I believe you are spot on. The deep read colours complement nicely the light colour of the wood.

Verry nice colored Kim. I like the contrast with the outside of the bowl.
How long let you dry the wood before you start with rough turning?
    Frank.

Hi Frank, thank you very much for the comment.. about the drying and the rough turning.. when I get a log sometimes it been cut down months ago and sometimes the same day, I cut them up in blanks as fast as I can and end seal the ends, and when I have the time I tak 10 to 20 of the and make the round on the bandsaw and rough turn them, I sometimes rough turn wood that have been cut down the same day and then seal them and then in the kiln and it work just fine, I just dont start out with the same heat normally I start at 30 degrees with very fresh wood where the others I have 40 degrees and the first 2 weeks out of the 4 to 5 weeks in the kiln I have a jar of water in the kiln to keep up the moisture, I find that that helps on the cracking and the warping, I dont have any scientific data to back that up, it just my observations .. hope that explains my way in a understandeble way 😀 else feel free to ask.. Thank you for watching my videos .. have a merry Christmas and stay safe 😀🎄 regards kim

@@WOODTURNINGBYBRANDSTRUP Thanks for your clear explanation Kim. I've only recently started rough turning and drying bowls. There is so much to learn.
