That is their opinion and this is mine.
The Gixxer is not a bad product as I have clearly said it in the review.
But it has smaller problems which affect the motorcycle overall.
Hard gearbox
Lower ground clearance (scrapes against speedbreakers)
A little lesser than Hornet in comfort
Braking not as good.
Less number of service centers.
And finally Hornet delivering more mileage in real life tests.
All of this gives Honda the edge though outright performance wise Gixxer wins.

+Arjun Mohandas claimed milage was same but in real life Hornet riders are getting close to 50 kmpl because Honda Tuned a 160 cc engine to have less pick up and more fuel efficiency. Basically as a performance bike, gixxer wins but these aren't performance bikes, these are commuters. And from that perspective I would have bought a Hornet because people in that category aren't just looking for maximum performance but other things as well.

The SF has a slightly forward leaning posture whereas the Hornet has the full upright posture. So, ergonomics wise Hornet is ahead. Suspension setup on the Hornet is stiffer at the front whereas the Gixxer is little softer there which makes slightly better comfort. I think I have mentioned all this in the review.

gixxer sf "fi" variant, has better top speed (130kmpl) than its naked version, and the new fuel injection feature gives even better throttle response for already good existing throttle response of non-fi version, and not to mention, fi improves fuel economy as well..
i want to see a video of "new gixxer sf "fi" vs hornet" but nobody has done that video yet..

The full fairing on the Gixxer helps it a lot to achieve top speed of 120kmph.. Aerodynamics of the Gixxer is the best in sub 1Lakh category...

+Puspal Dey I drove smoothly till 70 on 4th gear then redlined before 5th then it took like 30seconds to reach 125 after crossing 100! FYI:- I have k&N air filter(don't know if that helps.).
+Nitin R use default air filter.. i used k&n and am regretting.. other air filters change the fact what gixxer is about, it was launched as bike giving you power even in low rpm's but after changing the air filter there's not much power till 4500 to 5000 rpm and it sucks while overtaking

the main reason why i went with the Pulsar AS 150 is that it is a big hunkier bike and has presence. people with height 6ft or more would look awkward on the other two puny looking motorbikes. it is a tourer in nature with performance to compete with the best. chassis is also rigid enough and you won't feel any vibration even at 130km/h.
in simple terms, Pulsar AS 150 is the SUV of the bikes and other two are the sedans. sedans go faster, SUVs go places.

A long ride of 300 km on Pulsar AS 150 may cause back pain as it has very soft seat like the sofa.
I would like to ask the mileage of Pulsar AS 150..did you check that..??

Really Nice review video Rahul and you explained it very nicely. Today you made me proud owner of Honda Hornet 160R(bought CBS as you mentioned in ur earlier video of Hornet). Yes Gixxer and Hornet, both are fighting very closely for #1 rank but with superb breaking power Honda managed to pulled some credit to Its Bag. You actually mentioned very good point about build quality of gixxer and that's true. You can feel handling of gixxer SF is marginally better than Hornet but at corners Hornet is ahead of Gixxer. For buyers, its really tough choice to choose between Gixxer and Hornet but in after sale section, Honda is pretty much ahead. Excellent Review Rahul

***** The fairing on the gixxer was added for aesthetics mostly but it gave it more front end weight adding to the stability and better aerodynamics as well. Yes, it doesn't feel anything like a sportbike in ergonomics.
But for a commuter I like the riding posture. Hornet offered a better one for me though.
Here are the reasons I didn't find the gixxer best:
1. braking, hornet scores much better with big discs and cbs.
2. low speed handling, hornet, high speed handling, tied almost.
3. Better fit and finish on Hornet
4. more service centers and reliability of Honda
5.Better gearbox on the Hornet.
Gixxer had following advantages.
1. Better power delivery, good low end and power distribution.
2. Better gear ratios, higher pickup and performance.
3. Best console design.
4. Best road presence.
5. Fun bike to ride, more involving with the rider.
***** I really don't know anything about that and I don't really follow the rumors, I just want to provide clear information. A kill switch could be a nice touch but the switchgear is just like any other commuter bike. Personally, I don't have a problem with that.

Bro....gixxer sf top speed is 131 not 128......nd ya you are right only disadvantage is gearbox but overall it feels you that you are riding some big machine.......In traffic.......most people will surely get attracted to sf .......!!!!
Top speed varies, sometimes the Gixxer Got stuck at 128 at other times it went to 130, the thing is Pulsar AS 150 steadily rises to 130 kmph. But Gixxer after 120 kmph crawls to the top speed.
you know bajaj have shitty speedo meter as you know i know a guy bought as 150 and it was at 110 the the aviator was at 80 while two people,LOL bajaj bikes has lot of speedo error

Well i am a gixxer sf owner, so may be my comments sounds biased. But those who are looking forward to buy hornet, pls take a test ride of gixxer sf and decide urself.. I know refined engine from Honda is unmatched but wait how can u overlook :
1.Fully faired budget bike under 1 lakh
2. Best looking bike in this segment
3.Top speed of 138 kmph, tested my self on pune-mumbai highway
4.An economy of 44-48 kmpl
5. Aerodynamics
6.Last but not least, don't forget the maintenance ;)
Compare the maintenance/servicing costs of all these bikes. You'll get an idea.

Yes the Gixxer's fairing has that built to a price feel to it n the Gearbox is notchy.. But the rider comfort is good but Pillion comfort is average.. The most drivable bike.. The most consistent all Rev range performer.. The most consistent NVH.. The most good looking arguably coz of the full fairing.. Great handler n Decent ride quality..
The Hornet is a champ.. Honda's best 150-160 ever easily.. The best looker of the lot arguably.. Best fit n finish..
Good Performance.. Great handling.. Okay ride quality.. Good rider n Pillion comfort.. Best Gearbox.. Decent NVH..
The AS150 is the best tourer n a looker esp in black color! Adequate quality.. The best outright speed but consistency n complete Rev range performance not upto the Gixxer level.. Smooth engine n Gearbox.. Average but safe handler due to thin forks n tyres.. Brilliant n advanced chassis otherwise.. The best ride quality.. Very good rider comfort, average Pillion comfort.. Feature loaded..

buy the hornet! I purchased the pulsar as150 but the Hornet is standing out & it's Honda so you can trust the engine to work for a lot more years & no complains & weird noises from your bike after a year!!

The RTR200 is a completely different category and should be compared to the NS200. or AS200. Not the Hornet. I haven't ridden it, so can't really say.

The AS150 costs 96k, the Hornet CBS costs 1.01 lacs n the Gixxer SF rear disc Moto GP costs 1.08 lacs.. All OTR Bangalore.. Each one is really good at its price point..

I like the review, I also have Honda CB Hornet .But,as you said the top speed is around 120 kmph which is not, I myself rode it to 132 kmph and it could have gone more but I slowed it down.

Tell me which is best gixxer sf fi or sf carb. In FI no kick start is there. So some says it would give you starting issue if the vehicle stays ideal for 8-10 days. Some says FI is new technology, mechanics does not know the repairing of that. So Kinda confuse, I like Gixxer fi Black Dual Tone

One dislike for not giving 1st priority to Gixxer
Just bought a second hand 2014 Yamaha fz150i (in Malaysia) and can easily go up to 131kmp. If new it may go faster. But most comfortable when go around 90-100kmp.
most of these bikes go past 130 as well, and the sweet spot is around that 100 kmph mark.

Even if my qstn seems funny , I really need to know . I own a Honda HORNET . But I didn't like the rear view mirror whereas I just love the mirrors which pulsar AS 150 (Or NS 200) is having . Is it possible for me to install the rear view mirror of those on the pulsar to my hornet ?
Coz I found the mirror on the pulsar big n doubted if it ld fit to my bike .
n hence didn't buy the mirrors . I do really like to install those mirrors to my bike

My gixxer starts vibrating after 4500 rpm... The vibration are low but it starts there and with increasing rpm vibration also increases... Specially underseat vibrations.. Any comments on this

I picked up Gixxer sf..... Its of more of practicality.... & u couldn't find vibration at all comparing another two.... Because more the vibration less the stability... I liked the CBS system.... But still consumer don't have idea about CBS version hornet.... Consumers buy... Front disk & rear drum brake hornet

+Darpa Das the engine wasn't bad on the SF. The problem were low ground clearance, it scrapes in some speed breakers and less service centers, otherwise it's good.
My vote for the Hornet though as I have mentioned in the review.

The gixxer in this video is great as well but I liked the overall package of the hornet a bit better, if you go for the Hornet make sure to get the CBS version.
The extra price is justified for the refined engine and the braking and overall better handling as well.
Why didn't you include Fz-s v2? It's a very good competitor in this segment. The acceleration may not be top notch but it reaches 110kmph quickly once you march past 80kmph. I have tested top end speed of the Fz-s v2, it reaches 120kmph when tuck yourself over fuel tank in straight roads. The Fuel In seems to help it a lot.. You should have added the Fz-s v2 in this comparison.. Refined engine, superb chassis for cornering, smooth gearbox and FI for precise throttling makes it a good bike in the sub 1L category..

My friend's dream yuga is just 3 years old now the chassis's paint started peeling off and its also rusting. And there is chain sprocket problem with every yuga and neo.
100cc bikes have lost quality long ago. compare it with first generation splendors. even some 150cc bikes can't stand against first gen splendor .
Honda lacks on quality on metal parts they start rusting before 2 years but the Paint job is the best of any Hondas

Hello rahul i am looking after a new bike as i just reached 12th std idk which bike is worth proper use for mee while to be frank i am quite familiar with tvs Jupiter because its the only bike i have ridden so far and on rare occasion i even ride my father's bike splendor well here's some of the bikes friends suggested mee royal enfield 500 classic duke 390 rc 390 beneli tnt 300 yamaha r3 and vespa 150 i am kinda tourer guy who likes biking above hills clicking pics of sunset or visiting my native place in weekends. Please do let mee know about the bike which is perfect for mee being frank i think ur the only guy i must take suggestions from as i hardly know any other mature riders my taste in bike is all upto faired versions or decent naked looking bikes.
I recommend either the R3 (best touring) good looks or Duke 390 (power, tour, track) everything is there in it like slipper clutch, ABS, best tyres but the hard suspension makes the ride quality suffer a bit.

I am 6 ft tall new rider..I am really confused between gixer n hornet...Most people are telling that gixer has better performance...I use it for town rides and occasional long rides please help me as i also hear the pillion seat of gixer s bad

in these three bikes which is best . Suzuki SF Fi and pulsar as 150 and fazer 2.0 . and which is suitable me. I'm in the height of 172cm .
in the price of 1lakh and the bike gives the mileage of 40 km or any bike is suitable.... for my height and weight of 75 KGS pls anybody send rply
hornet is gud in evry aspect ...whereas in gixxer low ground clearance .. uncomfortable pillion seat.. n looks which r similar to fz .. r main disadvantages! ...howevr sf has better road presnce cuz of its grapics n frnt ...
but hornt being street naked bike took my heart away with its smooth n powerful engine light hndling yet muscular body. driven 2000 km in 25 days

+Vrushali Dhomse reliability isn't an issue with the Suzuki but the Gixxer SF has had some issues with design like low ground clearance and bottom scraping in speed beakers, also number of service centers are less. Otherwise it's a good bike.

you should change gear quickly , gear box in hornet is not good
but in gixxer gear box is very good you don't change gear every time and the pickup is also high in gixxer
Hi !! Thanks for the detailed review. I liked the Gixxer overall but I have one issue, I need a bike with comfortable pillion seat (for women with one sided seating) So from that prospective I thing Hornet is better.

Hey !! Thanks for the quick response. I have heard that Bajaj is also launching Pulsar 150NS in a month or so. Its specs seems to be impressive but it has a twin split seat. How good is it in terms of pillion comfort. Should I wait for it or go for Hornet ?

+Ride With Rahul bro I've been putting this doubt almost everywhere where I can see Gixxer sf being compared but till now none replied, I hope you won't disappoint. The problem I'm having is that I've buy a bike within a week from now and I'm in doubt that whether GIXXER SF's body gets banged on Delhi breakers coz there's no limitations on their maximum height somewhere they are genuine and at some places they are bit high... If I buy this machine will it get damaged soon due to it's slightly low ground clearance? And secondly I've read couple of users complaining about it's manufacturing defect in body (Both sides are not identical "as they commented" ) and getting cracked up without accidents.... Is this true? Reply asap bro... and also tell me that Pulsar 200 AS, Gixxer SF, Fz-s v2.0 , pulsar 220f and hornet which one is durable, stylish and economically good because I'm buying it for sort of all purposes plus keeping in mind the fact that I've to travel sometimes to my college with the vehicle so it should be comprised of all... can you suggest some??

when it comes to handling, top speed, mileage and braking i choose suzuki gixxer sf. I own this bike its really superb...!!! but from back view of hornet its really looking good ..!!
+Prem Kumar actually milage and breaking are better in Hornet. The breaking is far better with the CBS so your comment has factual inaccuracies.
50-55 kmpl guarenteed for Hornet if you ride in 55-60kmph. Also Hornet is most easiest and smoothest to ride especially for new riders. Breaking is perfect. Bike wont skid easily when applying back brake.

Gixxer and Gixxer Sf will now come with the rear discs..so breaking as you say is much more better compared to the drum break versions of the bike
