Been using Gixxer for the past 8 months, finished 7000 kms, completely satisfied with it, very comfortable to ride, gives me about 45kmph in city. I am glad i did not fall for the FZ V2 trap, was the bike of the year in 2014 and still is at the top of the segment.
i own a suzuki hayate, it has been more than 2 yrs but my bike mechanic does not find the need to change even the brake shoe. the build quality is excellent and always looks new when serviced,.and they are cheaper than the hondas
Gixxer is king...gixxer have a punchy engine and full vibration free bike...there r noo vibration on 110+ kmph...and top speed 131kmph.its engine is pretty cool and kaam in top speed no loudness and noo vibration And very comfortable to long drive no pain in ur body. Goo for this bike...take test drive and fell wat m saying...and very good mileage 45+ kmpl. For new buyers highly recommended for this bike...gixxer and gixxer sf rocks. 150 segment no bike touch thos bikes..
okay. it was for gixxer. Though i love the way it overtakes other vehicles. both are fun...wish there was some more ground clearance and pillion comfort.not to forget the worst after sales service. my friend is waiting for the chain set from the last one month,that too in Delhi.
After riding both motorcycles back to back, we did find that the Suzuki Gixxer’s engine was more refined than the Hornets. In the case of the Hornet, after about 4,500rpm the engine starts feeling rough and the vibrations kick in while the Gixxer’s engine feels refined all through the rev range. The Gixxer also has more bottom end grunt than the Hornet and its exhaust note is better too.
+BikeDekho Hello Team, As you have mentioned vibrations and roughness starts kicking in after 4500rpm but sorry I don't agree with you as I rode hornet 2 months back and I rode till 80-85 kmph and I didn't find any vibes or roughness in engine even though bike has already clocked 2000+ on odo. And let me tell you I have ridden Gixxer too and Hornet was as smooth as Gixxer, the only difference I could find in them that Gixxer has very good punch at lower and mid range. I own CB Unicorn 150 and I know very well that it starts vibrating after 4000rpm. There might be some problem with the bike you rode. Thanks and nice review.👌👌👍👍

Hornet is bulky and looks muscular, Gixxer is sleek and looks edgy. Both bikes are great to ride, However, our call would be Gixxer as it is good to ride due to the fuel injection that is on offer. If you wish to ride your bike in city traffic, you should choose hornet and if that is not the case, go for Gixxer SF Fi.

I am looking for a bike for a regular city ride say 30 kms daily and occasional out city rides. It should be a comfortable ride with good suspension. I am not looking at looks but performance. I have been told that Unicorn 150 is one of the options and now it is getting relaunched, where was Unicorn 160 they say have some issues. Some people also suggest Pulsar 150 or Gixxer. I am really confused. Please help me out.
If looks are not your concern and you want good milage and comfort then go to Unicorn 150 or 160 with your eyes closed... As they offer superb comfort and very good milage too..... And low on maintainance...
if on tight budget than look for yamaha sz version 2.0 or unicorn 150, otherwise fz version 2.0 or hornet,Am not suggesting you gixxer because on some points it is less practical than other two, though it is faster by few seconds.

Gixxer biggest pros are its peppy engine n flick ability cons gear box ,rear breaks ,ground clearance ,very stiff suspension , low beam like a bicycle lamp

The hornet makes a rider look weird and small on the bike. The Gixxer looks more commited as a streetfighter.

Arjun Mohandas but fuel injection?? I'd love to have fi on my bike.. Can i just get the sf fi, and "remove" the fairing n put in the regular doom set?? Is it possible to do that?? Im ready to spend the extra cast, no prob.. If its possible, then I'd have BOTH fairing and naked gixxer WITH FI at the same, that would be AWESOME☺☺☺
