GOD'S BLESSINGS BOYS YOU HAVE MADE A LADY OF 77YEARS FEEL YOUNG, DESIRED, HAPPY, AND FULL OF LOVING ENERGY ONCE AGAIN. JUST AMAZING THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH LARRY, BROTHERS, BARRY, GOD'S BLESSINGS ROY R I P. MEXXXXXXX
I was born in 1955, and if I'm a fan of Roy Orbison, I must admit, to my great shame that I didn't know the "Gatlin Brothers" The singer's voice is extraordinary and I'm going to look for records of this group. ..
The Gatlin Brothers were very popular in late 70s and through the 80s. Larry is the oldest and sang lead. My husband and I saw The Gatlins live in 1979 or 1980. They were great!
Roy Orbison sang some incredible notes during his career, when he sings 'moonlight' on this song it is other worldly and touches your soul. Incredible.
BearStar1 Well that is also scrictly an opinion. John R Cash was the one who crossed all musical boundaries, and did it successfully, and just like Elvis he is also in the Country, Rock N Roll, and Gospel halls of fame. Also people from all musical backgrounds, even rappers and rap listeners (which I am not) like one entertainer. It matters not about stats, and if you want to look at it there are a few who have had more number 1 hits like George Strait (50) Conway Twitty (44) Bing Crosby (43) Ronnie Milsap (41) Charley Pride (39) Merle Haggard (38) and Tim McGraw and Reba McEntire (35). Also ask these people who helped influence them, and they would say Johnny Cash. Johnny Cash had been in the business for 44 years on stage and 48 in studio. He even played prisons. Could Elvis do that? Or would he be scared shitless? Even after Johnny Cash died he had a number 1 album 11 years after he died. Check it out. It is called Out Among The Stars. I wish I didn't have to get into this as Elvis in my opinion was a close second behind only Johnny Cash, which if you say JR or JC people know what you mean.
BearStar1 So what are you implying that Elvis rocks and Johnny Cash sucks. I have mentioned facts too, as I personally know W.S. Holland who played in every single JC concert ever played from 1960 until 1999. That is a total of 39 years. And got the rest of my facts not of myself, but by the site called wikipedia. No one can record a billion songs in their lifetime, but might be able to sell multiple copies of the same song. So what is your little known facts about John R Cash?
BearStar1 So would you say that Johnny Cash is like the Prince or Duke of music? Yes I do know how to read, as I got a diploma from high school on the AB honor roll. I am autistic, and music is my area of expertise. Thank you for clarifying what you said, but I think Johnny possibly played more concerts despite the records sales as he was in the business longer. My favorite album of Elvis was his first record. My favorite of Johnny Cash was At Folsom Prison. What is yours from both?
Written by Beegee Barry Gibb. He produced the song and if you listen carefully you can also hear him singing! Roy Orbison -The big "O" FOREVER!! Many thanks!
Where is it stated this set was produced by Barry Gibb ? Larry Gatlin co-wrote this song with Barry Gibb in 1985. If you listen to all sets ... Larry Gatlin sings more of this song than anyone else on the set. If you watched all the videos it is Gatlin tutoring Roy on the second verse Roy was to sing in one of the sets. Also, the Gatlin brothers are full fledge in the harmony aka LARRY, RUDY and STEVE
I have to listen to this all the time,, its in my head.. it makes me feel that Roy is still here, I truly think that if everyone in the world heard this. the world would be ok
How have i only just heard of this song for the first time ever today?! What a wonderful song!! It is instantly catchy! What album is it from? Or was it just a one-off single? This song should have been a big hit...but it seems not to have charted anywhere?
It came originally from a Larry Gatlin album (I think it was called Smile) Not a very good Gatlin album, really the only good song on it. The story I heard is that the record company got mad at them for going ahead with the collaboration without "permission," so they refused to release it as a single. Typical cutting off your nose to spite your face, it would have been such a hit.
Tylko trzeba dodać,że Orbison zaczyna solo śpiewać ok. 3,44 .w tle jeszcze słychać jak dopełnia B.Gibb.A kto dokładnie śpiewa to to proponuję zajrzeć do bogatej fonoteki YT....
larry and brothers was good at what they did. but the frosting on the cake was this song. it is hard to find a song that roy orbison did that was bad.........
Actually Vikipedia said that in the record of song "Indian summer" back vocal was sang by Maurice Gibb. But i know also you can find video record of Roy Orbison and Gatlin brothers singing exactly the same song together with Barry Gibb.

The Brothers Gibb normally sing background vocals on the songs they compose for other lead singers.
if you listen carefully you can hear barry's falsetto voice
