Thank you so much for your words! It is always a pleasure to share music with the instrumentalists of the Giorquestra and with all the invited conductors.
I , too am a professional cellist & the link I'm sharing here is by far the best cello solo rendition I've ever heard. Enjoy! th-cam.com/video/M4NnV20WPMY/w-d-xo.html
In 7th grade, as a brand new alto saxophone player, i was in the second chair and the night of our recital the first chair was sick, forcing me to play the solo at the beginning. 40ish years later, and this is still my favorite piece in any genre of music.
If you listen to Suppe's shorter works-which I uniformly love- you will realize how formulaic, nearly identical in structure they all are. But they are all beautiful, and like Offenbach, Rossini and Verdi, got big enthusiastic houses through the 19th century, and into the 20th. And, i was, like my generation, early exposed to them through WB cartoons. HOW WELL we were educated back in the day.
Begins slow and melancholy, then faster like Thunder and Lightning polka, and then a Strauss like waltz. Partly slow and gentle, and also fast and furious.
The conversation with the cello and harp makes me cry.
I am a professional cellist myself and I just want to express my appreciation for cellist Francois who performed beautifully on his exquisite solo!

One of my favorite SUPPE'S masterpieces! I love it! - From S.Korea.
Espectacular François Ragot !!!
One of the best rendition of Poet and Peasant Overture I’ve seen so far, Bravo!
프랑수와 철로수석님 넘 멋진연주 ~~~ 그리고 탁월한 지휘와 합주 ~
❤ I love everything about this rendition !!! Bravo ... well done. ❤
This piece is so underrated. You don’t hear much beauty with Suppe’s piece. The cello solo…….
Nice. Thankyou
A MARVELOUS PERFORMANCE BRAVO !!! So many wonderful tempo changes that make the whole make a perfect, proportional sense !

Beautiful balance and tonality
True! I Wish the harp the was louder though it's such a compliment to the cello solo
Outstanding
