I had similar experience with lost luggage dept at the airport in Morocco when some guy took my suitcase off the carousel by mistake and disappeared off into the night with it, thinking it was his. I was left with only the clothes I stood up in (my fault for not packing essentials into my hand luggage). Lost Property ppl didn’t even pretend to be bothered. Ok, it can happen anywhere, but geez…Welcome to Morocco!
Congrats on the house. Did you get your jacket back. I used to work as cabin crew at Stansted and unfortunately your jacket would’ve/should’ve been offloaded to the despatcher at the destination (Morocco) with a completed list property form detailing the flight number date, location of the find etc etc as they cannot carry lost property back to base. You’d likely have been asked for a small fee to get it back (it’s about £10 in the UK)
