I am making a scarf/hat with decreases every 60 rows. I have just done my first decrease and knit several rows. I have a ladder affect behind the empty peg. Is the correct? If not how do i avoid it?

If you have already made the hat and tied it together but the hat is to big, is there a way to make it smaller?

Yes, you could work the stitches backwards and then remove a few rows, redo decrease and tie off.

I really like this decrease! It's a little fiddly at the end, but it's not as bunchy at the top when you do this decrease first!
