Very informative. I have a 08 A6 3.2 Quattro with a blacked out MMI. Mine lacks many optional multimedia modules, just two modules in the back, AM/FM radio and amplifier. I currently finished checking the fuses and fiber optic connectors which all of them seem to be working fine, including the CD changer in my glove box. I really wish it's the radio module that broke down so I can simply bypass it since I don't listen to the radio often anyway, but this video could be the one I will need in case it turns out to be the amplifier causing an open circuit in the fiber optic loop. I'm terrible with soldering and it seems like a great challenge for me to dig out the PCB to create a canal of solder but I'll try.

I’d bet on the Bose amp. It was a challenge getting to the amp in my 08 Q7 Quattro but a much bigger challenge putting it all back together. HD I hate cabin plastic. It’s like a jigsaw puzzle 🧩 that was only ever intended to be put together once ☝️!
I thought about trying to repair the amp but after watching this video I was quickly asswaged from that undertaking. The level of patience and steady hand, not to mention eyesight goes far beyond my mortal limitations. I’m going to use some eBay service to have mine rebuilt. I’ve heard it’s about $250 and you get back your original device which evidently is a requirement for those of us who do not have ready access to an Audi analyzer/programming device and software. Good luck! 🍀

I have 2011 q7. It jump started but with opposite connections. Since then MMI screen will not power up. Checked all fuses. Replaced mother board under the gear shifter and tried a bypass of amplifier. But I don't see any a red signal coming into amplifier. Help?

      Hi!
Did you connect the wires from the jump starter backwards? Cool! It happens. If the battery was at least a little charged, it shouldn't be a big problem. When you turn on the MMI, does the screen light up, or is it always black? If it lights up and goes out, you can look for something that cuts the bus MOST. It is necessary to look at all blocks connected to MOST. Front information display -> Telephone transceiver -> Telephone -> Navigation with CD -> TV Tuner -> Radio -> Digital Sound System -> CD Changer .
If the screen is always black, you need to look at the power supply circuits outside and then inside the unit. Often there is an overpolarization protection inside, which can burn out as a fuse.

Hi! What I'm showing you is a hobby. I can't repair an amp without a car, I just don't have a place to test the repair. And the postage would be great. But thank you for your trust! :)
