Good to see you out, I'm personally off road at the moment and enjoying the MTB this time of year. Let's definitely make sure we get out this year. I have a favourite route which I think you'll recognise 😉 all the best buddy
Hi there GC, I keep on seeing you out and about on the roads when I'm on the Cliviger run but I'm sworn to secrecy about the rider who came out with me on this day.....👌😁
"black pudding" gave it away for me lol! Great vid Daz, me and the coppy's need to come out with you and get on the telly 😂😂😂😂 by the way, I am healed up now from the crash after hitting the pothole on that descent, just scarring everywhere...ouch! Keep safe pal!
Hi there Frank, I hope you didn't mind me referring to you. Ironically, that car overtaking us kind of explained things about how we can take on some of these descents and that we are not just playing at it. Good to hear that you are healing well though buddy and yes, we need to have a good little ride out with you and the gang 👍🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲👌😊
Fabulous Video an local locations Daz.. I like this new film and post format you're going now, keeping the editing to a minimum much better i personally think, well done daz thank you.
Thanks for the feedback, I don't like to cut too many corners with the editing but if I can speed up the process, I'll keep on trying to tell the story without getting bogged down with so many clips. 👍
Hi there Tazy T, It's not quite like going out in the bush back home for you but we certainly do get the extremes in the weather over here. It's just good to be able to stay fit in the winter months buddy 👍
Great video Daz, love the Uppermill ride we do from Ramsbottom which is a similar route from rochdale onwards. Our cafe of choice is cafe Abaco in uppermill but will be trying Saints cafe soon. Subscribed now pal 👍🏻🚴🏽♂
Hello there and thank you. We have visited the other cafe many a times like you too. There's another nice one at Greenfield called the station brew just opposite the railway station.
Hey up Di, I've looked at the weather and that low pressure system might cause some stormy seas along our coastlines. I'm done with the snow, so fingers crossed we don't get any 🤞
Thank you kindly 👍 These shorter videos are much easier to edit. I've a few videos to edit from summer but they will take a bit longer to get through as there's so many clips and different cameras to add on the timeline 👍 I'll be cracking on with them over the coming weeks
Ey yup pal daz thanks for another video , great little winter bike that , something nice to rely on those out of season months . I’m exited as I ordered my new mountain bike today and pick up next Tuesday 😃 can’t wait . Surprised Chris from froome was out with you as he’s just down the road from Chris by hoy 😂
I can't wait to get back on the carbon road bike, the winter bike is so forgiving but it has no speed in it what so ever. What kind of MTB are you looking at. Full Susser or Hardtail ? 29er, 650B or 26" The list is endless nowadays, especially with the gearing choices
@@MrDazP1adv3nturesah yes so it’s another hardtail as I don’t really need full suspension, gone for 29 with decent forks 13kg so lighter than the last , also the knee is better better so should be ok atm
Hi Daz, I live in East Lancs & your videos popped up as recommended viewing, so have subscribed 👍 Question I have is with your Kona being a mtb frame, what size wheels & tyres are you using? It's given me an idea to turn an unused 26" wheeled hardtail mtb of mine into a skinny tyred winter ride to work bike.
Hello there, and thank you for discovering my channel. The bike was originally a 2009 26" hardtail. I had an old set of rigid inch n' eighth forks, which I swapped over from the Fox suspension forks. The wheels are Hope 20Five's 700c with 28mm Schwalbe tyres. It is a very comfy ride but to make it go anywhere near the speeds of the summer bike, it needs a heck of a lot of power from the old legs. I'd give it a go if you have enough spare parts knocking about in the shed at home 👍
Hi there Gazza, Just a little snippet from the ride on Sunday. I've featured this place many times before, and yes, the car drivers need to understand that we can go pretty quick without trying on these descents, so they need to pass us with some conviction rather than dilly dally about 👍
@@MrDazP1adv3nturesyeah very true , one thing many car drivers don’t get is on a bendy descent that the bike is faster , like fling down the trough the worst time for a car to pass us as it’s so frustrating when can get past them due to narrow road
Good to see you out on the hybrid again, but unlike me you will be quick in the summer. You are a brave man doing all those A roads and still enjoying it. I did a Monday 50 mile ride to Clitheroe , Whalley, Ribchester and back to Garstang. The roads had worsened in just over a month , I couldnt feel my feet, wet through , elbows hurting but other than that it was a good ride. Here's to better weather and roads. Are you commuting on Friday?
Hi Terry, that sounds like a good little ride you have taken on there for January so Chapeau to you. There are some pretty good potholes appearing once again too. I got soaked to the bones on my commute today as I ventured over the back lanes of Ramsbottom into Bury via Tottington. 34 miles covered and no oil left on the chain ! I will be up early tomorrow (Friday) and probably hit the storm head on so will need to take care with flying debris and cross winds. I might take the camera out
@MrDazP1adv3ntures bloody hell, look after yourself. I think you can at least hear what is going on , on your bike.. I now have six hours for my rides on Mondays so I can venture a bit further without clock watching, roll on spring.
@terrydickinson3296 Hi Terry, the first part of my commute is very early on and in the dark, and the second part of my commute is just about 2 hours now with daylight. By Friday, I can clock up between 180 and 200 miles, and that's in all weather's. At times, it's not fun but I have made my decisions to work relatively local to where I live, with the option to have a longer leg on the return journey. It's kinda normal for me now, but at times it carries it's own risks
Hi there Dan, I don't have a link to strava at the moment buddy but always try to put as much info into the videos as possible to show where I am riding.
Great ride Mr Daz and you where in elite company 👌🚴♂️Not sure with the crazy wind that’s coming in that you will be doing massive hills and a polite note the sound with the high wind was amplified but not being a tech man I am not sure if it’s the norm? 100,000 miles it’s a wonder you aren’t on a new set of knees 👌🎥🚴♂️🥇
Hi there, and yes, you are right. The audio on the camera is very poor, and it lets the video down. I have external mics that are much better but they require a lot of faffing, especially when it's winter and I have thick gloves on, so thank you for saying this. I need to find a better solution 👍 And yes the 100k miles took a few years to clock up. Most cars would be traded in with that mileage 🙂🚲
