Looking to add a hand pump to a cistern that the house I just had converted to city water for this exact type of preparedness. Just started looking into how to do this... Any suggestions are appreciated.
This question is a little off the main reason for the pump. Can I take out the inner workings of this pump? Run plastic tubing up the inside to the discharge spicket section. And hook a electrical pump to the bottom and use it for a decorative water feature. Where water come out into a barrel then gets sucked back up?
I would like one of these installed at my well. What am I asking for when I call the plumber? Can it even be done if I don't already have a hydrant set up? Thanks for any help!
Question: this pump has a check valve and not a lower leather with a weight? Do you know if this type of pump would work like a regular pitcher pump without that check valve and seal? My neighbor has the identical pump and she asked if I could get it going? Is the top suction leather cup 3”x2”. When I opened up her pump that spike looking check valve was not in there, just a rubber seal. I have the parts but I haven’t installed installed them yet. Im afraid watching this video I may not get it working since I don’t have that check valve. Perhaps the lower leather and weight might work? Was that check valve something you added? I ordered a 3 1/2” lower leather with weight and a 3”x2” leather suction cup in hopes to get the pump working. Thank you.
if you didn't take this out of the box you may not have seen the "spike". It was up inside the unit on mine until I fished it out, Hopefully you got it going by now.
That is ingenious! I've been wondering how to setup a hand pump from my spring, now I know. Thanks man!

We don’t know what a leather weight is
@@boompowzap oh ok, no problem. Must only be used on pitcher pumps then. Thank you.

What brand of hand pump is this? Thank you
I don’t know the brand. It appears to be Chinese manufactured and it is currently listed on Walmart.com under “garden hand water pump cast iron”
