    You might have mentioned this in the comments, but i did not see it on the video. On an X32, in order to pan things in your live stream mix, the easiest way to do that is to select a channel and click on the Sends button, and use the buttons to see the sends used for your live stream (I usually use buses 11 and 12 personally). Then the knob for bus 11 is the volume and the knob for bus 12 is the panning. Do this for each channel you want to pan. Keep the kick, snare, bass, and lead vocal in the center. Generally, I don't pan anything too hard to the left or right, but pan like instruments opposite each other (Acoustic guitar a bit to one side and electric guitar a bit to the other for example). Another consideration when mixing audio for video is to pan things according to how they are set up on stage. This is important to people watching your live stream on a big home theater system so your eyes and ears don't have to completely suspend disbelief with each other to stay functional.

    In my experience with mixing in local houses of worship and live streaming, the auditorium mix and live mix can bed vastly different due to 3 major factors. 1. Room acoustics, 2. consistency of the worship band, 3. an experienced FOH tech. In other words, if the auditorium has good acoustical treatment, the band is well practiced, and the front of house person is good at what they do, the mix from FOH can produce a good live stream (set-up as you suggested) sound.
    I have tried setting up (mostly) static aux mixes for a live stream mix as you have suggested, but found that without the 3 factors I mentioned earlier being in place, the live mix must be monitored and mixed live.

    • @collabworship
      @collabworship  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great point. That's why, with the setup outlined in the video, you still have the ability to customize the live stream. For example, we have to bring the drums up in the livestream because of the acoustical energy in the room.

We have been using an AUX channel to send sound to our livestreaming computer for a while, but I'm not sure how we could get Stereo using Aux channels. Thanks for a great video (as always) Kade. I have been hanging out for something like this for months. And I am looking forward to the next few which will fill out a little bit of the detail.
    I note that near the end of the video you state that "the livestream mix is a reflection of what is going on in the auditorium". Now, I realise that every church situation is unique so here is our twist. Our drums are fully miked, but the levels are very minimal (and only on a couple of pieces) as our sanctuary is very acoustically alive. If we implemented your suggestion as is, then the livestream mix would have a barely audible snare and hi-hat and nothing else. Any suggestions on how can we manage this simply as well? (FYI - we are currently using a BUS for livestream output but on a pre-fade mix, so everything is managed separately to the FOH mix.)

    • @collabworship
      @collabworship  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Glenn - In your situation, it might be best to leave your drums as pre-fader. If you have them compressed correctly, you should have to mess with levels much from song-to-song.

    • @glenndixon5370
      @glenndixon5370 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@collabworship Hi Kade. I set this up a couple of weeks ago and generally it work well. Once the FOH was set up, the majority of it came straight through to the Live Stream Mix. A few tweaks here and there for drum and general balance and it was all done.
      The real beauty of this is when you need to adjust a vocal mic between singing and speaking, or even just a speaking mic with people talking at different volumes, the the adjustment flow through automatically. Previously I would have had one hand on the FOH mix and another hand on the iPad running the Live Stream Mix and try to balance them separatley but simultaneously. Now if just works together. Big thumbs up for your help.

      I don’t know if this works on the X32. On our Allen & Heath GLD-80, we have a send/return reverb effect dedicated to the stream. We send the input channels to the reverb and return to the stream. We can adjust the send level of each channel independently, as well as the overall reverb level. We’re getting a worship band together as we updated our PA with new X32, one line array (yeah, don’t ask, small church, limited selection of PA installers that I wouldn’t choose personally lol) It’s about coverage, not volume……
    I’m hoping the pastor will switch off her headset mic and use the beta wireless for vocals when it comes to singing. Right now with no band, she talks and sings (with keys) off the same headset mic. It gets tricky….especially with Fx……

    Our livestream software pulls in a single mono signal and sends it to both L & R for the stream output. Given this setup would using a stereo bus change anything? Even if I send both channels to the live stream software, unless I pan something, it would still sound the same correct? Or am I missing something? Great simple setup, we've been doing something similar but using two people to mix sound, one for house and one for live stream. Our taps are all pre-fader so we mix 100% of stream seperate from house. We may give this a try, would be nice to have the option for one volunteer to run sound instead of two. Final question, what do you do for livestream effects such as reverb? We've noticed that reverb in the room sounds much different than on the live stream. Great video, thanks!

      The fader only applies to the main mix. So, when you set an aux to "post-fader" that means you are grabbing the signal after the fader before sending it to your aux. This is why, when set to post fader, your main mix affects your aux mix.

      Hey Elias - We do our best to have the right balance between information and examples. But I can definitely understand how some would like more examples, or even slower pace through the examples. One trick you can use is changing the playback speed of the video.
      When it comes to TH-cam content vs our courses, you will find some shared content between the two. But our courses go much more in depth and are organized in a system where you and your team can track your progress along the way.

    Jesus Christ is the son of God who died and rose three days later and loves all of you. He died for everyone and wants you with Him, to know Him and live for His glory. Come be saved eternally and spend time with Him to know Him. Be saved, free, forgiven, healed, delivered, baptized, whole and let Him show you how He is everything you need.
    🕊️💕Live righteous and Holy because He said to and paid for our way to live like Him. Ask anything in His name and the Father will do it amen hallelujah praise God thank you Jesus . 🙏
    I lift up everyone's prayers, wants and needs to You Jesus, please pour out blessings. May Your favor, grace and mercy be upon the world. In Jesus name come help us all. You know our needs and everything else about each of us. In Jesus name amen thank you Jesus praise God 🙏
    Jesus, Help people to be rooted and grounded in Your love and to obey Your truth. That they are living in the truth being taught by You. That they know Your voice and word. Knowing truth from errors, discernment. 💕
    We are ambassadors of Christ. We represent God, when we are seen Jesus should be seen, His ways not ours. We should be living for and showing God, living for His glory. We are to be an example of Jesus for the world to see Him and want to know Him and know Him more. 🙏 🔥
    2 Chronicles 7:14 says, if My people humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways I will hear them from heaven and heal their land. 🙏 💖
    People need to turn from their wicked ways, Jesus paid for it. That's God stating it in that verse and there are more verses. People need to repent, to be cleansed by His blood and live Holy because He's Holy and righteous because He's righteous. Our God said to stop sinning in many many scriptures and He paid for everyone to be cleansed of sin (Isaiah 53), and to live how He said. He dwells in the Holy temple (your body) and said not to defile the temple. He said to defile the temple is death. He's always serious about everything He said to do. He's just as serious about what He said not to do. We live in obedience to His law, every word if it! He dwells within us all to be with and lead us in His ways. 💕🙏🔥 🕊️
    Deuteronomy 28 there are blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience. The whole chapter, and verse 46 is one example of generational curses. These go into the following generations, the 3 and 4th. Our children pay the price for our sin. Stop sinning you are sending consequences to yourself and to your loved ones, children. By God's law you are. If you don't believe me ask Him, in Jesus name may you see and know the truth in it's fullness.
    Love your neighbor as you love yourself.
    Jesus is worthy of everything He said and paid for, so I implore you to do as God said.
    Jesus said If you love me you will obey my commands. Love Him with all your heart, mind, soul and strength. 💖🔥🕊️🙏
    Praise God Hallelujah Jesus🙏💖
    In Jesus powerful name🙏🔥🕊️ 💖
