I'm thinking this is my 2nd trip to this video as well. Thankfully, I think I may have an extra element (from frantically ordering 2 my first round). Thanks Daniel! :D Most helpful.

Thank you so much! I have absolutely zero experience repairing appliances and your video gave me confidence to order and replace the part myself with minimal issue. We have a ~2 year old Samsung DVE50M7450W and I quickly learned I would not have access to the back of the dryer. I was able to replace the assembly through the front of the machine after also removing the stabilizing bracket. We had significant build up of lint, which I suspect was the culprit. Thanks again!!

I have the exact same model as you so I’m glad this video corresponds with my situation. Good to know you had no trouble. I’m tackling mine tomorrow so wish me luck. I have previous experience in dealing with motherboards so I’m hoping I can get this done lol.🤘

Thanks a million! This tutorial got me through the replacement. I ended up ordering the entire assembly from Amazon and your instructions were spot on. I will say taking out the mounting assembly under the heating element and pulling the heating assembly out the front proved to be much easier than trying to pull it out of the back but that's just my 2 cents. Cannot thank you enough for sharing this video💯🤘🙏🙏🤞

Thank you for the video!! I just replaced my heater, took 1.5 hours and a $50 Amazon part. Probably half that time was cleaning the inside of the dryer out. This video was perfect for getting into the dryer the easy way.

Great help. Wonderful video. Another video I saw on this dryer he actually took out the drum, belt, and all! A hint which will HELP- You can take the heater coil housing out of the front. Remove the mounting screw and the screw holding the bracket to the floor, remove the bracket, and the heater package will slide out the front. And you can record the wiring method as you slide it out. Much easier. The wiring diagram that came with the replacement kit was wired differently than the factory did it, so you have a choice. I conformed to the method the kit showed, and it worked fine. But, it's your choice.

OMG Daniel, you don't know how VALUABLE your video is. We were off on vacation and came home with a mountain of wash, and of course our dryer failed to heat at all. Figured it was the heater or fuse but no clue how to get to it. Your video made it a cake walk (not easy, but perfect step-by-steps). Element burnt out, we were debating getting a new set but for $18 it should be back running in a couple days. Terminals a pain to get off but managed. Only thing I'd add is when starting to remove the connectors I left the top hinged down and put a few 2x4's under the front to make it easier to access. And the three of the wires are blue and two black so had to find a way to identify what is what. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍👍👍👍

John Tice is your dryer still working? Reason why I ask is because I've had it repaired twice by a repair specialist certified by Samsung and the first time it only lasted 5 minutes before it blew and the second time it lasted just a day short of being 2 weeks.

Using your video helped me replace the assembly easily. I had a blown high heat fuse, but we noticed the last month, or so, it was not drying the same. The element was good and so was the thermostat, but the parts guy at a local appliance shop said it would be best to replace the assembly. 67 bucks. Thank you for the video. It made replacing it soooo easy!

Thank you! My fuse was bad. I just unscrewed the 'platform' underneath the heater assembly and bent it down to get the heater assembly out. When repaired, just bend the 'platform' back into place. Much faster this way.
Also, Make sure you buy the fuses on ebay or amazon. My local appliance parts store charged my $30 (for a $5 fuse). I was able to fix my dryer the same day, but, will just order off amazon/ebay next time and save even more money.

Thank you for this video! My Samsung didn’t have a back piece to remove so I had to remove that bracket that the part rests on, that was a pain because it had two hidden screws in the back. That is what took up the majority of the time, the rest was super easy thanks to your video! As stated in the video the edges are sharp! Got one cut and then laid a towel across the bottom to save my arms. My dryer has heat now, thanks!!

  • @ejordan74
    @ejordan74 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Thank you so much for this!! I'm not an intuitively handy person, but I can follow visual instructions! I have the DV45H7000EW/A2 and the really important stuff is the same. However, for anyone else with my model, the rear panel is different so you can't pull the heating assembly through the rear (which sounds really painful anyway!). After removing the door assembly, you will also need to remove the frame that holds the drum in place (not the actual drum). This is easy to do, just remove the four screws that frame the edge of the drum opening and one more screw on the lower left that attaches this frame to the blower looking thing southwest of the lint trap. Lift the frame and pull it gently toward you - the drum rollers are attached to the frame so be careful not to force it forward too hard. After that, disconnect the wires and finish the rest of Daniel's amazing tutorial!!

Thank you. THis is exactly (looks like) what I need to do. Had my dryer from Sears for 2 years, and it seems like it is not heating anymore. I've done a dryer element replacement on other things, but never a dryer like this. This is little more involved than others, but you make it look so easy. Thanks. My dryer is the dbxr463ed2ww. Very nice, but dislike how it (sometimes) makes drying decisions without your input. Maybe that's related to the element, not sure. But when it works, it works perfect. Oh yeah, ours will sometimes stop before it totally drys them. So, you have to put it on "absolute dry" or something like that. Anyway, wife does it mainly, but I just load them and press the same button everytime ... because I don't always have my glasses and tell what all the buttons say. Anyway, thanks for your video, and I plan to try it. But bet I can't get parts now as Christmas is just a few days away.

Hello Daniel!!! First let me say thanks, i myself am a fellow TH-camr that does reviews and etc.The thanks comes into play because i have that dryer minus the steam option that i've only owned for about 2 years. The other day after the dryer running for a long period, i checked the clothes to only realize they were still damp. After many different attemps to get to work all failed. So of course i hoped on TH-cam and started to see if there were videos on this situation and yours was one of the first to pop up in the suggested. After watching i ordered the part, meaning the whole assembly, online and the part arrived today. So which leads me to now, after less than an hour i had the old part out and new one in and the dryer is now working again. I only did one thing different, instead of removing the rear vent assembly, i just removed the bracket itself that the part rests on. By doing that the whole assembly comes out the front of the dryer and easier imo to unplug the wires and reinstall the new part. Again thanks for the video, very informative and you gained a sub from me. Thanks again!!!

I pulled the entire housing out the front and replaced the internal elements and all of the bits and pieces. It was a bear getting it out the front, especially because there was a clip pinning it down into the platform it was sitting on. But - my clothes are now drying and have only been out of commission for 24 hrs. Not too shabby! $30 and done.

THANK YOU!!! Excellent Video Bud!!!! My biggest question is, Should I replace all those parts at one time. Ive always followed the Logic of, "If it's NOT Broken Don't Fix It", but for $35 on Amazon (01/21/20) I ordered the Heating Element & got 3 Thermostats & a Thermister with the kit. I'm guessing the product quality is not up to Samsung standards so should I take the chance of going ahead & changing them or not.
Ive replaced Dryer Heating Elements before, I just had not on my 5yr old dryer. This video help me figure out where the Heating Coil is & Exactly how to get to it, without me just tearing apart parts I didn't need to!

If your dryer exhaust vent is clogged at any point, overheating would result (again). The Thermal Overload is a fuse and once "blown", you have to replace it.

Do you have a follow-up of the video if it was the circuit board or the thermal fuse? The thermal fuse looks like it had continuity and I'm guessing testing continuity isn't going to officially tell if the thermal fuse is bad if there's a possibility it could be the circuit board as you stated in this video? I would hate to go ahead and try to buy a thermal fuse and wait for it to be delivered when it was a circuit board instead. I guess what I could do is get a heat gun and check to see if the thermal fuse cuts the circuit at a certain degree with my multimeter.

I might add that before one goes thru this disassemble one needs to check the power cord because if t is bad the machine will run and blow cold air but will not have the 220 necessary to run the blower unit. Just had this happen today and yes the cord and the Wall plug were indeed bad!

I have had my dryer serviced two times so far by a certified repair specialist and the first time it was fixed it only ran for about 5 minutes then the heating element burned out then when they fixed it again they replaced the entire housing that the heating element sits inside that includes the thermostats and the heating element complete package and it worked for approximately 13 days. I have a brand new exhaust pipe for my it is the semi rigid aluminum duct and there is no lint whatsoever inside or out. I always keep it very clean. The technician tested the plug coming into the dryer and it was perfect voltage. The first time my dryer malfunctioned it lasted for about two and a half years after I purchased the dryer before it went out the first time. I have seen various people posting the same things on various sites saying that no matter what parts they have replaced in their dryers that the heating element was not heating properly. If there is anybody out there that actually fix this thing permanently where it at least lasted 5 or more years please let me know what trick did you do in order to keep the heating element from burning up over and over again. I did run it in test mode and the only error that came up was dE but there is nothing wrong with my door or the latch or the wiring going to my door at all . I think it was just an error that was stored on there from when somebody opened up the dryer door while it was still running because it stores the last known error code in the system. Thank you very much. My model number for my dryer is dv48h7400ew/a2 and the part number that was replaced is DC97-14486A.

Have the same model dryer. On start up, gives error code tE and will not function further from there. Tested all of the fuses and thermostat with multimeter and seem fine? Debating having someone look at it versus throwing parts at it? Worried could be the computer board? Thoughts?
    Thanks!

thanks daniel for the detailed instructions which i followed easily. however, after replacing the heat assembly my issues of intermittent heat still persist. here are some clues...if the exhaust vent is removed from the dryer then it heats up fine. the dryer is vented outside over approx. 12ft with only one 90 elbow at the back of the dryer. the duct is clear (used my gas powered leaf blower to blow it clear from the inside).... as a temporary fix i thought to just use one of those water lint traps but as soon as i attach to dryer it stops heating again.....this is only about 3ft of brand new semi ridgid duct. i dont think the heat assembly needed to be changed and i'm now thinking its the control board. anyway to test the board? thanks!
