We really enjoyed iona, even though it was busy we mostly could get a seat where we wanted. The only show that was disappointing was Ssshh. Overall found it very chill and relaxing time onboard. And great value too compared to other cruise lines.
The Embarkation procedures are near perfect now on most cruises. 15 minutes for us on RC and Celebs. Great breakdown of the bars and venues. Glass House is number 1. Horizons number 2.
@@TimK2646 can you drop off baggage early? Our embarkation time on Saturday is 15:45, I don’t want to wander around Southampton with loads of suitcases 😂
@@jennifernash9117 Greetings with 20 plus cruises experiences, we have always had to collect our baggage from Airport/Railway and had to get it labeled/tagged off to be on-board. I do recall a few cruises where once on the coach say from Rome Airport to Civitavecchia Port, your suitcases are all sorted by the Cruise Company. You still need to register on board and then head to the next Buffet open.
A great review! So annoying that you couldn’t get drinks when eating at the Quays, we managed to get drinks when we ate there on our recent Iona cruise so hopefully it’s something that they’ve sorted out! 🍹🍺🍸
Enjoyed Iona went to Spain and Portugal early October, embarked no problem cruise great no issues but disembarkation at Southampton was a total shambles two hours late from time given to us, shortage of trolleys, need to sort it out.
Hi both, looking at booking our first cruise. We are a family of 3 with a fussy eater. If we book any of the extra paying restaurants for a special evening would they offer a children’s menu, or something along those lines where the food is a bit more simple? Or will we be stuck to going to the buffet? Thanks
Hi, thanks for the question. They certainly do have options for fussy eaters you just need to let them know either by contacting P&O beforehand or by speaking to the restaurant manager on the day of boarding. Particularly on Iona and Arvia there are lots of dining options for you to choose from other than the buffet.
What's with the crime scene tape over the book cases in the library? Is reading a crime?! Another great video although I think the ship overall has too many negatives for me. It just seems like a badly thought out ship -- venues too small or as part of a thoroughfare, the cabins on the promenade deck, and the requests in restaurants that completely throw the staff. All that said, great content, and no drama.
Thanks for watching. Sorry we have disappointed you. February half term is 4 months away and this vlog intended to help future cruisers. Which elements do you believe are out of date?
@@TomandDomTravel my husband and I are actually looking at this cruise for 2026 so this was helpful! Will be taking our then 3 year old with us. Was it particularly rocky on board with it being Feb? We did Norway on Iona in August so wanted to know how that would compare with sea sickness! Thanks :)
On Iona in Oct 24 (term time but still rammed), wouldn’t go on her again. Entertainment was repetitive, theatre only holds about 800 (same as Arcadia but with 3000 more people). Atrium was soulless & musicians were located on one side, but unless you were able to sit nearby, the sound on the otherside was akin to headphone bleed (rather annoying) Library was useless. Bar menu's differed so you had to work out which sold the drink you wanted. MDR food was nice but choices were repetitive on a 14nt cruise (became fed up of broccoli & green beans). Largly avoided buffet, too many passengers seen not washing their hands (in loos also). Plus points, crew were great, Fish & chips and the Queys was good (avoid peak times). Sindhu was very nice. Olive grove was nice but slow.
Thanks for watching. Think this is a fair review. There certainly is an abundance of green beans. We can never understand why passengers find it difficult to wash their hands.

That’s fantastic to hear! So glad we could help. Hope you had the best time.
What an awesome video. Really looking forward to going on iona next year now. Subbed :-)
That’s amazing thank you! Have a great cruise 🚢
Phew! I’m on this ship for Christmas so glad it was a positive experience
We are sure you will have a great time! Please let us know how you get on.
Going on this ship in a year, I was a bit not wanting to go but after seeing this video I feel better. 😆
That’s great to hear! Enjoy your cruise
Great overview. We really enjoyed this and it brought back a lot of happy memories. 🍻
Thanks so much for watching. 😆
I really enjoyed your vlogs. We were on Iona this may for the first time, on her again next weekend and can't wait!
Thank you so much!
I do love your videos. They are brilliant 👏. X
Thank you so much!! Very much appreciated 😀
Just come back from Iona and completely agree about the Atrium.
Thank for watching. Hope you had a great cruise

Thank you for watching. There is no doubt P&O offer some great value cruises
Also, the ice-cream afternoon tea is fantastic value!
We ordered one between myself, my husband and our 12&14 year olds.....and we left some 😮
That’s great to hear. We must do that on our next cruise

Thank you for watching. Most lines we have cruised on we have had no problems not sure why P&O tend to be the exception

Great to hear the service has improved
Great Video as per usual Tom and Dom. for the Stargazers among us were is the best part of the ship to Gaze at night?
As high up as you can get away from the lights. On occasion they will turn the lights off especially if the northern lights are in view

Thank you. You are right there are lots of thoroughfares. No idea about the thought process behind the books

Feb half term? Gosh that’s 10 months ago. Lots have changed since then. Not really up to date. Disappointed guys

It’s a shame that Captain Wesley Dunlop left, but everyone moves on. I hope the new captain is still as fun 🫡
He was loved by many. Disney have a good one
