I'm going to have to formalise the rules of the Tom and Dom Travel drinking game actually... a shot for something "thoroughly enjoyed", a shot for a cheeky cocktail order, a shot for bedtime room service... anyway, loving watching your travels unfold :)

On Arvia in April at the port of La Spezia they were checking photo IDs so many people hadn't listened and didn't have it. Wonder if it's an Italian thing.

Ka kor dok is actually how its said with a guttural sound coming from the lower throat. I live in Qaqortoq! As to the Tannery: Seal skin is a bi-product of hunting for meat! For five thousand years this way of life has been passed down. Hunting and fishing is how they supplement their food table. Most Greenlanders do this! Stop calling it controversial! It's a way of life here! Change how you speak about countries where the indigenous do what they've been doing for centuries to survive arctic condtions.

Thank you for providing an introduction to the Silver Fork. Maybe I am showing my age, but this is what I expect when one is paying for premium fine dining. Everything from the table presentation, cutlery, and courses make the moment special. From my experience, it is very difficult to do Beef Wellington for massive groups. Maybe the key to getting this level of service is to have a dedicated smaller staff team attending to your dining.experience (but it usually costs $$$). It appears your experience was top-drawer. Several years ago, we invited a couple to the Four Season restaurant for dinner and the per seat costs was approximately $200. Although expensive (IMO) you were paying for the dedicated staff and attention to detail. When cruising, specialty dining feels like a steal compared to on-land prices.

only thing I didn't like was at 5:28 while showing the balcony divider there is a gap in the middle where you can see into the neighboring balcony.. but I guess that can be fixed with tape..

I have been on quite a few princess cruises and I know the main dining room has specific hour of operation and it sounds like you were outside those hours in between breakfast and lunch or in between lunch and dinner. It is usually better to then go to the international cafe or lido buffet or one of the other food venues. Doesn’t sound like a princess issue to me. We have always had great service but only go to the main dining during the 1st hours when they open

Do they smoke onboard on Costa or is it outside only?

Costa, an Italian line, with no included pizza??? We went to four out of five villages by train when I was there, around the end of Oct./early November. Corniglia was closed when I was there due to bad weather and some damage the day before. During peak season you can visit the villages by combo boat and train or hike between villages.

It seems so many cruise lines are cutting back and that makes their products less desirable. We’ve only ever cruised with Cunard since 2016. Even they have cut back since the pandemic shutdown in small ways. For example : on our pre-2020 cruises we were sent a brochure with our luggage labels, now we have to print our own. OK, it’s not a big issue for us and it doesn’t materially affect the cruise experience, but overall service has gradually deteriorated since 2016.

Italians dont do the digital muster for the most part (my experience after being on costa 6x), also costa very often disables the digital drill at specific ports forcing you to attend the in person one which is like a timeshare sales pitch with a bit of safety at the end. (I do love Costa, price/value is often on point!)
