Did you hear what Buckin said? He was best standing aside him, an old logger taught me that years ago, too many people stand in dangerous areas when someone is falling it is best to be aside the cutter or so far the tree can't get you very important and could save a life. 10:05 Buckin is a surgeon, he is who I would want around buildings.

Not only does Buckin' get the tree going the right direction in general, he lays it down with laser precision. If I hadn't seen a lot more of his videos I would have thought it was luck that it fell exactly where it did and didn't do more damage to the posts or get hung up on anything else. Buckin' you're a hoot.

That was wild. But still not as crazy as the triple domino fir felling a while back. That was a perfect example of high stress situation and what we go through on the job. Where you were visibly having a physical anxiety attack while doing your job. The ability to get through that was just awesome. Even if you might have added an element of danger by method chosen but it's pure efficiency and skill. Breaking the rules like an artist. God bless brother!

Buckin that was impressive. How much more did you take out of the face cut before you just touched the back cut to make it come over. Your back cut looked less than 2 inches and the holding wood wasn’t much more maybe 3 inches. That’s a skill learned over time and something you only pull out of your back pocket when truly needed.

This was very well done, but this principle can only can correct the tree so far until it will eventually just barber chair and go backwards if the lean is too great in the opposite direction. You are just basically shifting the hinge backwards past the centre of gravity. I love a deep scarf, especially on a sitter but its important to point out the limitations of the technique. Good Job btw

I am putting a new handle on a double bit 3.5lb Olympia axe. It's a friend's axe that he came across it in Washington State. I looked around online and couldn't find any information about the company...initially. Researching deeper I found out that the company and name originated in England or Scotland??? Hey, they don't have the market for double bit axes....???? They don't have enough trees left. Then I realized...BRITISH COLUMBIA! Plenty of forests up there! The axe must have supplied an export market...maybe the UK had a high tariff on non-UK axe trade: hey, standing up for the domestic(UK) axe industry! The axe doesn't say made in England (or UK, etc....or wherever). Also, the axe says "Wear Safety Goggles": so it isn't too old(>75 years, I figure that safety stuff wasn't stamped on stuff until the mid-1960s....I could be wrong!). The "OLYMPIA" was bought by True Temper or some other US conglomerate a few decades ago and it sold the copyright to some tool company in City of Industry, California. (Interesting side note: I worked for Superior Tools, Featherweight Tools, and Custom Building Products-Tool Division in The City of Industry!) Anyways, I was just interested to know anything about the Olympia Axe Company, maybe some of the Buckin' fans have some info...I'd appreciate the input. PS: the information that I put down on the Olympia Axe Company is mostly a loose guess of scrapped together conjecture..."I could be SO WRONG!"
