My wedding stories is actively paying 20 dollars to break weddings AND introduce long-standing bugs. There will still be people defending the sims team… y’all please have some self respect.
It's so sad! Every time I held a wedding it's so tiring and sad because nobody does what they should, family members don't show up, nobody wears the clothes they should, nobody does the interactions, organising weddings is so tiring too, you have to ask everyone, organise the cake, which is already spoiled at the time of the wedding.

@@silvervixen007 also, the fact you just get a measly cash reward for completing the tasks is ridiculous. They could have easily given gifts like the base game wedding does. There's literally no reason to complete the tasks other than you wanting your wedding to be an actual wedding!
I'm so sad I caved and purchased the pack on sale after holding out for 2 years. I really wanted Tartosa, but i wish I had my base game weddings back.
I wish there was an option to turn off weddings from wedding stories and go back to the bg weddings

There is a recolor of the rainbow slay outfit and they looks 100% better
Man, if all the LGBT slay clothes had been subtle like the suspenders, the collar, and that one dress that just had little rainbow lace at the waist and the shoulder I swear people barely would have paid them any mind but because it's the Sims 4 they had to make stuff like that jumpsuit where it looks like she has a literal playground parachute coming from her ass. The worst part about this pack for me is that even if it wasn't literally broken and worked perfectly, I would still hate it because like everything in the Sims 4 you have to control it down to the letter. I wish that the sims would just autonomously do the activities in an order you set for them for the wedding.
meanwhile, in the sims 2: my sim's bff autonomously proposed a toast to the newlyweds haha

Exactly!! Subtler optional stuff would be far better. (also maybe just some accessories like earrings or lapel pins/flowers to add to existing formalwear)
If you want to represent the LGBTQ+ community through fashion, Collab with queer fashion designers, look up what gay people gravitate towards in terms of fashion. The "LGBT slay" cloths can still pass in the sims 4 due to the cartoonish style, they are literally a meme, but it doesn't mean that joke doesn't become obnoxious when you keep using it all the time
They have a rehearsal party in game, I said the rehearsal should have been where players set what they want done and the actual wedding should have just been the reenactment of what we chose to do in the rehearsal.

I'm not even gay and you wouldn't find me in one of the rainbow slay outfits. And I love rainbows, always find a way to incorporate bright colours into my wardrobe. But the sims 4 outfits, are just big yikes.😅
My opinion, this "counter-propaganda" without knowing the real troubles of LGBTQ+ makes things even worse, creating and forcing the stereotype of these people as just a "rainbow clowns even when no one sees". I am hetero, but I am agianst any political and sexual discrimination, I know lots of LGBTQ+ people personally, they just want to live peaceful and quiet as most of the regular people do, but many of them had to emigrate ( you might hearing that in Russia and Belarus (my native country) just being "non-straight" - is a crime and you willl be accused for "extremism" for 8-15 years....returning to Sims 4 - these outfits are just ugly....my (principally! a kind of virtual protest) lesbian sims won't ever put this on, they have taste and they respect themselves). Sad the pepople still think that every "non-straight" is actually dressed like stealing clothes watching the parrot and the scarecrow playng strip-poker
what i dont like for the event like these is basically players are always the one who managed the event. theres no randomly generated npc wedding where we could visit as guest.
True!! I had never thought of that before, but it sounds like a wonderful idea. It would be fun if townies could autonomously get engaged and invite our Sims to their wedding, maybe even ask us to be their bridesmaid or officiant, etc.
My first wedding with this pack was a hilarious disaster. No one would do anything I wanted them to do and then my braidmaid turned into a werewolf and pissed on the aisle
I regret installing wedding stories so so much. Weddings are so broken for me that I just have my sims elope now- which is a shame because I used to adore having weddings in the sims. (Im a family player).
Maybe you can use James Turners website to unable the wedding pack! He has something on his website that enables that
If you play on PC there is a mod by “twistedmexi” that will allow you to use the old wedding system if you want. I agree you shouldn’t have to but it is an option.
Can you use mods? TwistedMexi has a dual wedding systems mod that is a game saver

The idea of a DVD is brilliant. Watching it , and getting a happy mood, would be great. I think it would also be great that if you divorce, you get a sad or angry mood.
Oo I Love the divorce sad moodlet idea! maybe even an Embarrassed moodlet for high maintenance sims, if they hated how their outfit turned out lol.

I loved how even in Sims 2 honeymoon was a thing. You’d even arrange your own if u got packs, or the couple would go away in a limo for a while and come back with full needs and good memory.
In this pack, they truly could have done so much. Firstly, a wedding outfit category is a must. The bride could have selected their dress or jewelery as an heirloom and their daughter or daughter in law could have an automatic option to wear that for their wedding later on. Which could maybe give a positive moodlet “lucky relationship” etc.
There truly could be a good coded cameraman, you could pose for and guests would pose for automatically.
Then youd have the photos sent to you. The scripted wedding like sims 2 cinematics as u say would be the best.
Dont know why Sims team isnt utilizing cinematics anymore. You could have a wedding band maybe.. Harp etc, instruments dont even have to be available in the game, just 2 group of npc choices, more classical or modern
Your choice of flower could determine decorations maybe.. We could choose bridesmaid clothes..
Maybe cake bought after tasting would give “delicious” mood to guests saying ita great, meanwhile cake bought without taste testing would give “mediocre cake” message from guests..
You could have pets married, or have them be the ring carrier.
Have annoying elders ask “when will you have kids”, there could be a real wedding gift thing, where bride/groom could make a list, and guests would buy gifts from the list based on their relationship, less relationship would mean a useleds gift off the list.
Exes invited to wedding could give a pop up message from em saying smth funny…
Theres so many things that could be done… But it is just another pack that leaves everything to imagination yet again, and basically adds nothing when you could do the walk commands etc on your own anyways…
Not even mentioning strppers for bachelorette parties, “drunk before wedding” moodlets etc..
Sims 4 is too sanitized for some of the crude humor i mentioned perhaps and that is the issue as always…
omg, i've been playing the sims 2 for literally my entire life, and i had no idea the 'honeymoon' was even an option!! thank you!! just proves how well-thought out the sims 2 is with all those little details. also, so many good things you brought up, the grandparents and heirloom in particular are kinda shameful to be missing from a WEDDING pack. as a queer person myself sometimes i feel like they really just took the idea of 'lesbian wedding' and ran with it without actually doing anything interesting

@@manyyoumas I honestly miss playing the Sims 2 and 3. I haven't bought the Sims 2 since I got my new computer, I used to play on console many years ago . The Sims 3 is partly broken on Mac since it's release to 64-bit and it ruins the game. EA forgot to code the ocean as ocean, or something like that, and my sims can't use the ocean (amongst other things). It sucks living on an Island and not being able to swim, while watching other NPC sims swimming.
The sims 3 had a similar feature IIRC, you could go away on your own if you had packs or your sims would disappear for a few days.

I think the worst part of it all for me was how through the trailer and all the advertising, they talked about the “drama” in weddings. In the trailer, it’s literally a story of a couple disagreeing on everything or being totally uninterested that ends with one leaving the other at the altar!
We get no such possibility in the actual game. There is no drama. There is no disagreeing. There is only happy happy happy micromanagement.
The closest to a negative we get is the “express doubts about marriage” interaction that…. Still has no negative effects!!! It’s a happy friendly interaction, even when used on your fiancée!!
I hadn't even considered making Tartosa a honeymoon world. 🤦♀ That's a great idea! I'm definitely going to add romantic rentals there and have my newlyweds go on a vacation there. Oops, I'm sorry to my Sims for not giving them honeymoons!
I’m still of the belief that they took nectar making from my wedding stories and put it into the horse ranch pack to give it another feature

Your take on how the gameplay shouldve been with the video animations and the wedding planner career sounds SO good! It reminds me of the sims 2 and it really wouldve felt so sweet and sentimental ❤

Satch, the idea of a general 'Celebrations' pack is a f'ing 15 out of 10 idea ~ like, I'd have LOVED a pack where I could make my own events and parties; the gameplay options it would open up would be awesome. An awkward sim trying to pull off a successful after work gaming party, or a proper sim trying to do their own formal tea ceremony. If they used the club coding to give each party it's own 'vibe', ugh ~ man that would be so cool and so ACTUALLY INTERACTIVE! I really wanted to like Wedding Stories, and I'm a sucker for build/buy items, but this is one of like... 3-4 sims things I just wouldn't ever bother buying. There's nothing brought to the table that's actually worth it - your ideas are stellar though, honestly. I ~wish~ this were a Celebrations pack like Seasons, that would have been so good.

Hotels should’ve came in this pack!! I feel like the sims team needs to show previews of packs and then have the community say what they want to add and then they can spent however long to fix it and then release it

Probably because he's won't spew BS just to make them happy. He's always got great, constructive feedback. However, since they probably want creators that toe the specific "EA" party lines, I doubt they will make the jump to Satch. He's just too truthful! They want lauds, not critiques.
I absolutely love how you’re not afraid to call EA out, unlike a lot of simmer TH-camrs who sugar coat everything when it comes to the sims 4 👏🏽

Honestly I love Wedding Stories, the gameplay is trash to me and I prefer base game weddings but the build mode is so good to me. Just the windows are a need for me. The debug landscaping is also really good. The trees in debug are my favorite trees in The Sims 4 and that’s probably the biggest highlight of the pack for me. Now, Tartosa is a really beautiful world, definitely one of my favorites in the game, it’s so romantic and the style of the buildings are so well executed. So in conclusion I love everything about the pack except the gameplay.
Tortosa is absolutely gorgeous, i especially love it since I love Greek architecture and Greece’s beaches + weather. I really want it but at the same time I don’t wanna break my game.
@@ismelllikemarijuana I also really want it cause I don’t own it, but if I ever get it I’ll probably look for a mod that removes the pack weddings and makes my game have normal base game weddings.
Your suggestion to EA about how they could have done it sounds so fun. They really just don't give a crap and don't try anymore. I stopped giving them my money years ago.
The best part of this pack was Shanice Shanice showing up in the exact same gay dress as the bride.

Took me over a year, but I'm FINALLY subscribed. Your commentary should be the Number 1 source for feedback for GAMEPLAY improvement. I haven't played Sims 4 in over a year, but your vids keep me posted on which packs are truly worth my USD. Wedding Stories would work better as a career track and I wish there were more random occurrences in the Sims v. so much planning/plotting/arranging making this boring suburbia world.
I never felt so let down by a pack. My birthday is the day before valentines and I wanted my boyfriend to get it for me for my birthday it was perfect. Then all the backlash came out the worst I’ve ever seen so I didn’t get it. Instead I downloaded free cas from the pack as cc.

i have been able to sell wedding cakes with the get to work pack! i just did it a couple of months ago. my shop was in magnolia, maybe that has something to do with it?
but yeah, this pack is trash. it has nice aspects, i like keeping my cake toppers of past generations. i recommend if you’re gonna buy this pack, to download Carl’s wedding mod that lets you still have base game weddings. why EA completely replaced base game weddings when you purchase this pack is beyond me.

I wish they would fix that. My daughter wanted it so bad and then on release day, she was like never mind and told me all the problems she’d heard about and I was like “we’ll get it when they fix it.” It seems like a pack I’d enjoy too if it worked properly. I do like some of the CAS. The build buy seems like there’s not much you could use in a regular build though. But just like for rent, they could have made this just weddings and then made a separate pack with a better, more in depth Italian world. A+ for the representation and trailer though.

Personally if the pack wasnt so glitchy i would probably have liked this pack for what it was, so annoying that they still haven’t fixed most of the glitches in that pack. Also, u can sell the wedding cakes by making a store and selling them that way one of my Sims has a bakery and that’s how I sell the wedding cakes. but yes, I agree that they should’ve had a wedding planner job as a option and made the process of planning the wedding, more detail and in depth!! it would’ve been a way better pack.
Love the world, hate the gameplay. Your advice to EA was very well reasoned, but given how many Simmers played it in advance and demonstrated how horribly broken it was, the fact that they didn't fix it before release is unforgivable. I'll never buy any pack until I've seen post-release game play. (And that's why I don't own For Rent!)
The thing is that even if EA wants to be cash grabby, owning dine out could have unlocked restaurants in this pack, Island living unlocked ocean swimming in this world, spa day unlocked nail or spa planning for the wedding, get famous adds makeup wedding planning options and get to work could have added a wedding boutique for sims to buy wedding dresses. All these pack and everything is stand alone, that isn't cash grabby that is just laziness or poor planning management.
There should be a premade vacation rental there. My sims was able to take a vacation there not long ago and that’s the first time I’ve ever clicked on the world since buying it 💀
Honeymoons are more than likely coming in their pack. Hopefully with hotels, however hotels are more than likely coming in its own pack as well. Everything is separated as a cash grab. Noticing a pattern here..

2 is the best, I think 3 has it in the base game, about the sim pie menu, if you go to the setting tab you can change it back to old design.
The last wedding I had was not the worst, but it was still pretty broken. TBH, the only reason I even do weddings anymore is to get wedding photos to decorate my sims’ houses.
So for this particular wedding, there weren’t enough guests to fill all the seats, it took three tries to get everyone seated, the exchange vows interaction just completely broke and the animation didn’t play, meaning I missed the actual wedding part. Then, at the reception everyone refused to eat at the tables, there was no mixologist desire hiring one several times, and one of my sims gave a toast to the wall. Overall, 4/10 experience. I did get some half decent pictures though.
I think the most hated non-existent feature of this pack is the inability to force sims to stand at the alter. My officiant left half way through and none of the wedding party stands at the alter.

You can sell wedding cakes with GTW. I have a bakery and the wedding cakes can be marked the same as everything else. In fact, they sell a lot better than other baked goods and are always the first to go strangely

It felt like all the "representation" was just a cashgrab, (typical EA), and they totally ruined weddings, if you have this gamepack, you basically either have to always elope, or have a broken ass wedding...
Me when the NPCs AI won’t let them just sit still and watch the ceremony:
“For 5 minutes. Can you not be yourselves…. FOR 5 MINUTES!!”
Honest to goodness, what bothers me about the rainbow stuff (aside from it just being visual noise) is that individual gay people don't actually like or use the rainbow flag personally. It's meant to be an umbrella flag. Giving us that just kinda feels like it doesn't actually acknowledge that there are multiple types of queer people.
I know this is *gasp* twice the work, but every piece of clothing should have had 2-3 queer swatches. All of them should have had one that uses bi coloration. All the female clothes should have an option for the purple+orange colors of the lesbian flag, and the male clothes should have had an option for the blue+green colors of the (criminally underused) gay male flag.
(No need for a trans swatch. Being trans doesn't affect your wedding much compared to your orientation. (And I say this as a trans woman.))
And they don't need to vomit the colors all over the clothing. A simple white dress with purple and orange trim here would have been more than enough to get the point across.

one thing a really hated when I saw gameplays of weddings with this pack was that they obviously couldn't make sims do things manually during wedding, so they "fixed" that with those actions with a yellow circle (I don't know the name) but it didn't even work
I've never been able to have a wedding that worked with this pack. I just liked the CAS items.

Tried to play with My Wedding Stories for the first time today by planning a wedding, only to find out that planning said wedding just sent me to the wedding, and it was a mess cause I hadn't picked out any guests or wedding parties or literally anything. So annoying

I once did a rags to riches on trying to sell wedding cakes and it did work with the retail lots and it did set for sale but the highest it ever went to was 200 simoleons, so ig it doesn't kind of work.

You get different curses if you activated the wrong tramps, its funnier and challenging that way instead of examining it first and the clicking rhe correct one. Also if your sim gets poisoned instead of buying the medicine in the museum's computer you can ask a local for help and they asko you to give them the bones you got in the temple for exchange and then they hand you the cure.

I had the bare minimum wedding with some minor additions like the cake and dance and it sort of worked (if you count the bride passing out on a sofa a 3 am a success). It was so exhausting that my Sims now elope or start off married. I do really like Tartosa (although dead) and all the wedding cakes so I can use the pack to run a bakery. CAS was pretty too (minus the over-the-top pride stuff) But weddings?????
In many of your vids you have mentioned mods that fix oversights in the packs game play. Such as in University, Dine Out, etc. Have you, or will you do a vid showcasing these pack foxing mods? Thank you for your honesty. ❤
I still dont have this pack and I dont regret it.
Also the "Plan the Wedding" interaction is not a My Wedding Stories interaction, it is base game, cause when I have an engaged sim they do have that interaction. I usually like to schedule the wedding ahead of time so I dont use it.

5:43 yeah that wasn’t very clear, when I tried to use this pack, I used the “plan wedding event” and when the wedding started I was confused…I lost about 1 hour and 40 minutes of progress because I didn’t want the wedding right there and then. 🤷🏻♀️

There is a black suit full-body outfit for male sims, but it’s not the first swatch, and it’s very formal.
I was considering buying this, because it was 40% off over christmas. I love some of the furniture pieces, and CAS, and it comes with a new world. I didn't end up doing it, but I am still considering.
I thought they fixed most of the bugs in terms of wedding ceremonies though? At least so it wasn't unplayable.
I was surprised by the world's rating by Satch. Tartosa is a highly rated world when it's polled. It's my favorite world of the series. It's also the only world where you can build a beach house on.
I've taken that world to a new level with Wicked Whims. I have all these beautiful women living there which means they will swim in the waters there. With WW, they get naked before getting in the water to swim. With a beach house, you get to watch beautiful women swim naked in your backyard all the time. 😊
you said the exactly thing that i always thought. the pack its just a few interactions, thats nothing about gameplay....
I honestly didn't struggle too much with this pack but it makes me sad that guests don't even watch the wedding because they're roaming around and doing their own thing like Satch said. I had the BEST weddings in Sims 2. I used a mod that let me just click on a sim and add them to my household, so I kept inviting sims over until I had like 40 on the lot. Then I would add each guest to my household just long enough to control them and make them sit down to "watch" the wedding, then boot them out of the family again. Then I literally had dozens of guests who would all behave appropriately. That was much better than what this pack does! XD

I’m happy with the cas stuff, build mode is very sparse, not enough things in it and let’s not talk about the broken gameplay. I totally agree with you, it really wasn’t worth buying.
i wish they had a team go back and fix the packs that have been abandoned for so long. nobody is buying the old stuff BECAUSE IT NEVER WORKS. i really think they should slow down with all the releases of new things they've been doing and go back to try and fix most of the packs.

If they wouldve made the pack a wedding planner pack people would be furious that they dont get to plan their own. Like how you can manage a restaurant but not actually cook and seat tables. The planning needs to be done before hand and not during with all the clicking you have to do

I bought it two days ago only due sales. I mostly build and yes gameplay is broken and world might looks gorgeous from distance but edges are literally made by 4years old child. But I have to be honest build mode is very good and a lot of staff can be used in normal houses. Going back to world I forgot to mention: its too empty. There is so much space with nothing where It could've been more lots. Too much path with no point of walking and you cant go sightseeing just like in snowy escape which wasted huge potential

so funny I just bought this pack and boyyy it really is glitchy as heck. Literally unplayable. I actually have a bakery retail business that was working well but when I got this pack, I added the wedding cakes and that made my bakery non-functional. Now I know why, Thanks Satch!

I never have formal weddings in the Sims (I hate parties) and half considered buying the pack just for the stained glass. But the game acts weird (my computer is getting old) so I went back to Sims 2.
Coming back to the Sims 4 after several years and I'm trying to get caught up during this holiday sale. I've heard great things about the CAS and World in this pack, and that the ceremony was buggy, but ... dang. This one is gonna be a miss for me, lol. I think I'll give this one a skip and go with Dream Home Decorator for this bundle instead. My first video for this creator I've watched but not the last.
And as a gay woman ... wow. Those rainbow clothes, like some of them are tasteful and subtle (like the suspenders and bowtie outfit, which is kind of charming in a "my gay wedding in June" way), but others ... again, wow. For when your sexuality is your entire personality.
I have not bought or been given this pack, I made it clear I didn't want it. I saw when they livestreamed it and they couldn't make it work properly.
NGL this pack felt like it didnt went through a beta test before they release it.
